Gears of War 3: Preorder Thread.

I will post the preorder links as soon as they are available. Does anybody have photoshop maybe they can swap the colors around on the console and repost. I tried doing it in GIMP because I dont have Photoshop and it crashes everytime I go to swap the colors.

I'm going to have to agree with you. Although, considering this is Gears of War, it's certainly not going to be a sleek looking design like the Halo Reach one.

At least it's a good deal since you are getting a console with a 320 GB hard drive, 2 of the high-end controllers, and Gears 3 for $400. Beats buying everything separately.

Might try to pick one up myself if I can manage to live without the limited edition on day one.

Dude! That would be awesome just to see what it would look like with the colors simply swapped. I know it would look nice, that's how they should've done it...

I was able to do some work on it and it does look really nice. I can't do anything more with it though because Gimp crashes on me. The reason they did the colors this way is because of the actuall background wallpaper for computers. You can look it up on Google Inages. I'm on my iPod Touch watching E3 at the moment.

I still think they should've swapped the colors, a wallpaper background would look great like that because it's just the logo - but damn so much RED on a console! It still looks cool and I love collector items - and this is definitely one...

I jus can't wait until September to play!!!!

...but imagine that mod I was talking about with the splatter effect cut-out and Red LEDs shining through from inside! Would still have to swap the colors though...

Gears 1 - Black with red omen
Gears 2 - Black with white omen
Gears 3 - Red with black omen

Idk, thats just how i picture the series.

I cant wait either. That would be a nice console mod but it would be a pain to do. The picture is just a picture and gives no detail what so ever. If you want to see the full detail of the console go to paint invert the colors and zoom in. You will see what I am talking about. I think this console is better left unmodded without LEDs because like I said it would be a pain to do and you would really have to know what you are doing and have a steady hand. Trust me it is very detailed.
 
The description of the console makes it sound like the old version. It says it has a detachable 320gb hard drive instead of the Slim's standard 250gb internal hard drive.
 
Ordered one!

Not sure about the other retailers, but the Amazon listing says the Savage Kantus character skin is included with the console.

From the pictures, it is definitely a new style system. Nothing to worry about with that.
 
This console looks pretty sweet but I have a MW2 console and I can't justify the purchase. I also need to save up for a 3DS now that all those cool games are coming out.
 
Ok people enough of the console. On to the Newset Item brought to by NECA. In case you missed this I will find the video and put it on here once it is uploaded. They had Lester Speight aka Cole coming out with the E3 Booth Babes carrying the Butcher Blade. Yes people the Butcher Blade. It is made by NECA and is a prop you can buy and hang on your wall. Just like the Retro Lancer but instead it is the Butcher Blade. They also added the Butcher Blad to Horde Mode meaning you can know give the Butcher a taste of his own Blade. WHOO!
 
I really really want that console. I placed my order but man my slim is only a few months old this will be by my 5th X360 console, but first collectors edition. I pre ordered the Vita as well, the wife isn't gonna be happy.

Yeah but I am going to wait until the actual E3 on G4 one is online. That way you can see a better view of it with Cole and the Butcher Blade in Horde Mode. O man I WAS THE ONE who started the first "GET SAVAGE KANTUS" topic on the Limited Console! I feel like it was ALL ME. Woots. Serioulsy though Amazon is fucking awesome.

Now if only Gamestop did the Limited Console with Dom package I'd order that and have all 4 pre-order skins. :D

All the Slims have detachable HDDs, and they're all internal. It's the same new Slim console we've had with the 250G detachable-internal HDD but with a 320G detachable-internal HDD instead - same style console though.

So it sounds like some of you are preordering at multiple locations to get multiple retailer exclusive skins!
Who is doing that and what skins are you getting?! I'm also thinking of preordering from Amazon too because I also want the Savage Kantus skin - I'm already getting my favorite COG at GameStop - I want my favorite Locust!
 
To all the people talking about preordering the game at different retailers just for the character skin I might have some news for you. Rumor is that Epic Games will do like Rockstar Games did with Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire and release the Preorder Bonuses later on as Downloadable Content. Also Cliffy B and Ice T said on the G4 Interview at E3 that the cars they showed will be available as in game content if you hit a certain milestone. Can anybody say Seriously 3.0 Reward. Imagine runny the Horde down in a white Bently or white Lamborghini.

That sounds AWESOME!!! Seriously 3.0!!!

But anyways yeah I figure they'll add all the DLC content - from Character Skins to the Omen Weapons Camo Pack. There won't be much that's truly exclusive except for some of the items in the Epic Edition and the Replica Retro Lancer and/or the Butcher Blade...

Hmmm, I'm probably not gonna do that... It's the only 2 achievements I don't have on Gears 2 - Seriously 2.0 and reaching Level 100... Too tedious...
 
I did have 2.0 but Xbox went down and never did give it to me. As far as Level 100 goes I dont care because most of the Level 100's I have played have hacked to get it. I am currently Level 38 but since they have a 30XP Event because of E3 I am going to try to hit at least 50.
 
In that Horde Mode video, was that Retro Lancer an Infected Omen weapon, or a Lambent weapon? It had electricity flowing through it and I didn't recognize it.

And why are the people that are always featured in those sorts of online videos extremely bad at games. It's like that guy didn't understand the idea of cover in Gears of War, and had to be explained multiple times by people to shoot the Berserker when it glows. Games are literally designed to be moron proof, with colors to guide you to appropriate actions, and yet people like this guy still don't get it.

I dont know I saw it also it looks awesome whatever it is and to answer your question I have no idea what so freaking ever. I was watching E3 and they demoed Resistance 3 the guy sucked at sniping to begin with eventually died and they blamed it on a pink controller. Yeah right I dont care what color the controller is I can still snipe better then what he did. These kids were crying on Gears of War 2 one day saying that I couldnt beat them and all that. You know typical little kids who shouldnt even play the game to being with. I killed them with my hands behind my back and controller upside down. All I did was hold B down and they walked right into my Chainsaw trying to Shotgun me. Lol.
