You have to play Brothers to the End to get the Event Ribbon this weekend, why I don't know.

I got about 110,000 in 49 waves in Matchmaking Horde. I got roughly 25-30 Point Man Ribbons, and I spent about 95,000 of that towards my Silverback Lv.3, which I can honestly say I'm nowhere close to getting at the moment. I did manage to get about 50 Rocket Kills though since one person upgraded it to Level 3, which I then learned if it died, I couldn't bring back...pretty stupid.

I also went up 2 levels, and I'm 2/3 towards Level 74, so that's pretty good.

I got it when we failed wave 60. Did it unlock for you then? Weird that when the host selected to restart from the Current Wave it sent us back to Wave 41 (not 60, or even 40). I even got credit for like a boss when that happened.

It seems like you have to fail to unlock it in Horde, which is baffling. The random I was playing with had the same comment, though. Neither of us unlocked it after we beat the 50 Waves, which is why we kept playing through Wave 60. Good thing we finally failed, actually. Would have sucked to have to play through it all again.

I don't know which Wave you left on, but we got one or two more waves higher and it became insane. Literally the Silverback would blow up after about 10-15 Hammerburst shots. I would buy it or repair it and it would be destroyed in seconds.

And I think my microphone was busted, because I kept asking if you wanted to swap the Silverback every round for the Rocket Kills.

My money count didn't seem to jump as much as I thought it would. It seemed like the more money you had, the more 'interest' the game was supposed to give you, so there was incentive not to spend it. At least, that's how it was being explained on the forums.

I got the ribbon when we failed. I probably didnt hear you because i wasnt wearing my headset. But im like 10 or so point man ribbons away from onyx so i didnt want to use the silverback anyway. Im also about 100 assists away from onyxing that a 2nd time so i really dont want to play mp until i re-up. Man tuesday cant get here soon enough.

Nope, not going to carry over.

I didn't get my Dance-A-Thon ribbon until I played a match of Brothers to the End, even after failing a Horde wave. I only got up to wave 38 last night with the group I was with-- I'd love to see what it was like past 50. :)
 
All I know is on Wave 50, a Casual Brumak is a cheating bitch. Especially because he brings a buddy along for the ride.
 
Are there 4 other people who want to get "I Gotcha" and/or "Team Savior" ribbons?

Team Savior only needs 4 people, and I have an extra controller, so we need only 3-4 people for these. We'll probably need mics for it, though.

For I Gotcha, we can just throw on the Friendly Fire Mutator in Horde, have 2 people get it in Wave 1, two more in Wave 2 and the last person in Wave 3. You die on the 3rd down, so that's why it's two per Wave.
 
Yup, I'm willing and I have a second controller. Friendly Fire would probably get the job done for it.

I just had an awesome match of Horde.
- All 50 waves
- Went from Lv.73 to 1/4 the way to Lv.77
- Spent 120,000 on the Silverback
- Earned $313,000
- Got roughly 40 Point Man Medals
- All 5 people stayed for the entire thing

By the end I had roughly 150,000 in the bank. Darn you unfriendly fire. I would've wasted so much money on the Silverback with that if I could have.
 
That's awesome. This was such a sweet event for Horde. I ended up Onyx'ing the Squad Leader and Horder medals, and probably earned $600,000 overall.

I did have a lot of issues with people leaving early, seemed like even more than usual. But the fact that it was on Casual at least meant that someone leaving wasn't an instant death sentence.

there's a glitch with Horde that allows you to get infinite money in it, meaning infinite Big Money Onyx's, meaning infinite XP

Start up Horde, get money, die, start wave for interest, die again, repeat.

I don't know how events work. Maybe if I stay in this game I'll keep getting it. I dunno. All I know is if I get 72 Big Money Onyx Medals I get to Level 100.

I'm doing it with a second controller because, you know, it gets money, so I get more money.

Example: I'm at 385k right now, and by killing the bot before each round, I'm getting about 20k a minute and rising.

I think people are doing it this weekend because you get a lot more money, not because of the interest. Because I'm pretty sure you got interest before.

EDIT:
In 4 and a half hours or so, I went from Level 76 to Level 100. Upgraded my Silverback from Lv.2 to halfway to Lv.5 (Good Lord, that's a lot)

EDIT 2:
I fully expect them to have an achievement called "Seriously 4.0" in the final DLC pack where it's says 'unlock everything, get every other achievement, re-up 3 times, be level 100 and never have idle boosted with bots.

I'm going to be online tonight if you still want to do this. There's no friendly fire in Beast Mode, so that'll be tricky.

From what I've read online, you just want to fail Wave 1 repeatedly, while destroying as much as you can without completing the Wave. This helps you build money, and then you just have 3 people get themselves downed on spikes or laser wire. You just have to watch for stranded approaching, and keep them covered.

We'll still need a 3rd player for the Horde one though. My Gamertag is [removed because some fucker tried to hack my account].

Doing this right now.. Thanks for the heads up.. Will probably leave my XBOX on if I get tired so I don't lose the money I build up!
 
Just a word of caution though; play a game of TDM either on Private or Quick Match afterwards. One Onyx Medal will think you've gone to a negative level if you do it too much. If XP carried over, I would've done it longer for like...400 of them. But I only needed 76, but got 78, so it's no big deal. I was surprised that Lv.76 is roughly 2/3 of the way to Lv.100.

Also guess how far away I am from maxing out my Silverback? Any takers? The answer

Whatever, I'm taking a break. I only need 130 more Rocket Kills for the last Horde Command Map Achievement.

I've also heard something about double XP starting tomorrow.
 
It's actually percentage based. I started off from Wave 1 and got to Wave 9 so I had around 15~20k until I started doing it. I think it's like .5% of your current money is added. You actually have to wait until the round starts to let yourself die. I made the mistake of killing myself by tagging smoke simultaneously and was not getting any money.
 
i want to get in on this but dont want to get any point man ribbons.

Kind of sucks, if epic learns about this they might not have another event later like this. But this horde event sounds better than up to 50 and its over.
 
They know about it.

Like I said I think you get interest regardless of the Event. I think it's just the amount of money that is why people are doing it.

I'm glad I caught it when I did. I was able to max out all my fortifications and Re-Up once. Apparently it does not work anymore. Had it not been for KingBroly posting it here, I would have never known!
 
Well I'm still at level 73 but I don't mind doing it legit, I'll get there when I get there. Who's in for rolling a team and picking up the Recruit Clayton and Savage Marauder achievements tonight?
 
I was able to max out everything in Horde and get to Lv. 100, so I re-upped when I downloaded the DLC. I'm working on a couple of Ribbons right now. The Super is proving to be quite the pain. I'm not exactly sure when to pull the Trigger on it.

Oh well, the skin for re-upping once is nice.

ewww! you like them. I will re-up but not for the skins. The RE-Up Weapon Skins
 
Everything looks better when it's cheaper. I'm not re-upping for Skins, either. There's no real point in staying at 100 because you're not gaining anything by doing so.

Now I'm 12 Ribbons short of all 132. All I need is The Super, and the rest from Beast and Horde.

EDIT: I think I discovered a problem here. If you Prestige it resets your Seriously 3.0 for trying to get to Lv.100.

Weird...Re-Upping cosmetically screws up the Field Service Medals. It says I'm at -98/100 right now. I played a TDM to flush out the system last night, too.

When I got to Level 2 as well, it says I was at 2/5, so it apparently gives me progress towards the Bronze/Silver/Gold Medals as well.
 
Think I only need 5 ribbons. I need both beast kantus ones, the finish beast with one second left one, the grenade tag a retrocharging enemy (will have to boost that one I think) and 1 more I forget. Anyone want to do beast, horde or the character dlc tonight? I'll be in. I can bring more players if needed.

So it no longer shows the Level 100 checked under the Seriously 3.0 progress in the achievement tracker after re-upping?

Did anyone else re-up today and can confirm?

EDIT: Actually after reading some one the threads on x360a I'm not sure what the correct answer is about re-upping and seriously 3.0. Big surprise a title update fuck's up an achievement that takes 100s of hours to unlock.

EDIT2: From what some of the Epic people are tweeting it looks like you do have to get to level 100 again if you re-up and don't have all the Onxy medals unlocked. They hint that it might be fixed in a subsequent TU, but who knows. I guess since I have to get level 100 again anyways it isn't so bad, but still a pretty stupid implementation of the Title update.

This entire update is a giant mess. Multiplayer is hilariously unplayable. I was in a match where you went into cover in slow mo and couldn't pick up weapons.


And mantle kicking made my opponent invincible (sawed off at point blank range + random pistol shots + 2 melee didn't down him). I had to rage quit there.

Sacrifice - broke the ring alone while DBNO
Survivor - Revive yourself 5 times in a round
Indigestion - killed an enemy with a swallowed grenade (wild ticker)
Monkey-Dog - multiple enemies you stunned were killed
Meatshop - killed 4 enemies without dying (butcher)
Team Savior - revived 3 teammates at once
I Gotcha - revived all 4 teammates in one wave
Quick Killer - kicked 5 small enemies
Dewormer - killed 3 lambent headsnakes


I should be on later tonight if anyone wants to get achievements, ribbons. Im downloading the DLC now.
 
Re-Up does remove the level 100 from your seriously 3.0 checklist. I guess you have to get to 100 again.

I got my "revive yourself 5 times in a match" ribbon today by playing casual bots, KOTH, bleed out 5 seconds. Just ran up to them, let them down me, and i was able to revive myself before they finished me off pretty easy. They seem to target a new enemy once they down you.

I was also trying to get nemesis ribbon but for some reason the nemesis icon never showed up, even though i was sure one or two of the bots killed me at least 5 times. Maybe im wrong.
 
I've been asking to do the ribbons for 3 days! Only King Broly replied, but we'd still need another.

If you have a second controller, all of them are easy to get except for Team Savior. The lack of friendly fire in Beast really makes that one difficult. Plus, you actually don't want to complete waves, as the AI gets more aggressive, and is likely to kill your downed teammates before you can get 3 people down to revive.

Also, this never seems to work in public because no one seems to play at the Drone, and eventually people all play as Kantuses.

Anyone else having problems trying to play quick matches in frosty or alpha? I keep getting disconnected, then it keeps telling me to change my party settings to online and its already on invite only. I tried joinable friends and anyone can join and it wont let me on. Apparently its an issue that some people are having even on epic forums. Really annoying.

Ok finally got in a frosty game, this game is both fun and frustrating lol. Its a good mode to play to get hammerburst and pistol kills, along with headshots.

Having a similar problem, keep getting booted back to the menu and told to change party types. Do you know what you did to fix it?

only thing you can do is back out to the main screen,, the omen screen that says press start, and try again.
 
So is the extra $ in Horde still going on?

Also, where do you guys go for all the Gears 3 updates and events. The in game Even Calendar is a freaking joke.
