Gears of War CAG Tourney - Bracket Update 19 DEC 06

this is completely gay. So rabid llamas hasnt had two people on at one time here. whats going on? if the team cant play call the round or call the tourny.

Our team takes the loss. Schedules clashing so that's why our team hasn't shown up together on XBL. Brackets updated (in 5 minutes).
 
Ok, so now that we're at the next round, what happens to the winners? It still doesn't make sense to me, 3 matches = 3 winners = odd number.

Heh, I thought that meant you were throwing in the towel on the whole tourney at first.


Just have the three team play each other, and which ever team ends up goin 2-0 wins the whole thing. Or advances to play the winner of the loser's bracket, however you have it set up. Having a by would be really lame.
And in the odd occurence that all 3 teams end up 1-1 (Unlikely since you know...Revolution is gonna run the table), just redo it over again until one team comes out 2-0 and the others are 1-1 and 2-0
 
if you guys wanna round robin, go for it. it's longer for the 3 teams, just so you know. And you can't really plan for these things. Bye's happen all the time in many competitions. Luck is part of the game.

Bye's happen, but you usually see them in the first round. I don't really care that much since this is pretty much just for fun, but it is kinda ridiculous to have a team skip all the way to the semi's after 2 wins (or even 1, as it would be in our case since the other team forfeitted first round).
 
Byes, brackets that are all outta whack, it just doesn't matter. It doesn't matter because the Revolution is going to win this whole thing, we don't care whose next or what order we play them. When it's all said and done Revolution is going to be the winner of this tournament as well as any other tourny you kids put together.

So, that being said let's get down to business, we gotta play Hostile, get together, set up some times and post away.

That is if you can pull your selves away from tinkerin with your robots in Chromehounds long enough to let us stomp you.

In this case, there'd be no shame in quitting the whole thing.

Thank you. I was waiting for someone to say this. Like I said, luck is part of the draw. You think this is bad? Watch some wrestling tournaments. You'll witness some guys who have to wrestle 4-5 matches while others with a bye get to wrestle only 2-3 matches - I've seen guys puke from exhaustion but get right back on the mat! You just gotta deal with what comes your way. Well...at least that's what the people with a winning spirit do.

Grey Storm prevailed over Cheap Ass Gears in an intense game. 3-2 and 2-2 in the final map. Good game although curiosly enough the hammer was missing and the bleed out seemed really really long....

bleed out was 20. i have feeling writing this it was supposed to be 10 though.
i forgot to swap the hammer back in, i usually play with it out. one of my teamates reminded me during our match on fuel depot.
my horrible play caused a broken headset during the game, it was repairable =)

It was a minor change in the format. It's up to other team, Grey Storm, if they want to rematch it. I doubt it though hehe

By the way, anyone seen Team Easy lately?

Trakan and Zew do nothing but play Gears of War, constantly. Every time I'm on Live that's all they are playing, for hours at a time.

I had my money on them as soon as this tourney started.

I'm not even sure they need two other players.

I don't think that Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 tournament ever finished. At least this one is still going.

That's one reason I don't enter CAG tourney's... it takes FOREVER for them to finish, and 90% of the people lose interest.
 
It can't be helped. Only a handful of people are on every night and usually, it's one or two players from this team or that team only. I'm sure everyone wants to participate but there is school, jobs, and girls :p
