I like how that one grunt guy rushes the sniper every game and in the first one he goes for that Heaven Laser or whatever. That sniper looks hella sweet. One shot, then reload. Did ya notice when he scopes in it doesn't move like some games. Tries to simulate breathing or whatever, pisses me off.

This game looks amazing.
 
just wondering-- is the shaky cam always on when you crouch and walk? that's pretty annoying. trying to play a game, not watch a documentary.

I kinda like the shaky cam while you run, it gives it a more realistic feeling.

It's always on when you run.

However this type of game is not a "Run and Gun"... Meaning you shouldn't be running all that much, you should be running in short bursts from cover to cover.
 
Has anyone preordered at Circuit City and used that 15% off coupon? How does that work exactly? Is there some sort of preorder box you buy like at Best Buy?

On another note, the new OXM (Rainbow Six Vegas Cover) has the coupon again, and this time it expires 11/31
 
Ok I've been looking all over trying to find out if it will support split screen over live (for multiplayer, not co-op) for certain. I give up, I can't find any evidence. Does anyone know?

I also want to know if COD 3 supports this, since COD 2 didn't... as that will decide if it's my second purchase next month or 4th. :)

From what I heard its Split-Screen when playing on same X360 and full screen with co-op over XBL/system link.

I'm utterly shocked at how few games support this (Speaking to a developer, told me it's very complicated to do) because it's a VERY big thing for me.

Nothing beats having friends over playing together against others online.

But not only is it a rare feature, it's even harder to find out if a game has it without trying it out.

There's a card for both versions of the game .

They have cards hanging on hooks in a small section , on the side of an endcap .
It could easily be mistaken for a gift card rack .
I presented the OXM coupon when I pre-ordered mine .
What happens is the PO card rings up for the entire price , minus the coupon discount , and they make you put down at least $ 10 towards the game .
You then have a reciept showing the remaining balance owed on it .

Also , the guy said they usually get enough faceplates for everyone who PO's .
He used Saints Row as an example .
 
If the magazine wasn't so damn expensive it'd be nice to get that coupon. After mag purchase though, total savings end up to be around $5.

After watching the "Mad World Trailer" (found here: http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/747/747891/vids_1.html) for the 5th time, I can't tell if these are real-time or not. I know Cliffy B said that all promotional footage and trailers for Gears of War were done using in game graphics but this trailer looks absolutely amazing.

I've been keeping up with this game since the first trailer and I just can't believe it's come this far since then. Nor can I believe how good this game looks.
 
There is no FMV in this game, nor has there been any FMV made for the game's promotional material. They brag all the time that everything you've seen uses the game engine, including the mad world trailer.

Yes the 360 is now seen to do incredible things.... But but but but.... it still doesn't have a bluray player so the PS3 is better!! ;)

It's all using the in-game engine.

I predict this too.

Games with this level of hype, no matter how good they really are, always have this small wave of "This game sucks".... and "This game was so overhyped" talk by those that just want to be different and stand out. I'm fully expecting it.

I don't even need to play this game to know it will please me. It isn't the second coming of a deity or anything, as some people may be expecting, but that's their loss, no game is perfect.

I think I'll make note of this post so in 10 days I can quote it over and over again at all the "I need to be different and hate GOW" folks.

Its not offical gears of war, but its themed like it.
 
It is still strange to the eye that every character in the game is 220 lbs, 6' 6", and 5% fat. Imagine if we had to fight aliens that size and build!

But still, a fight between a high-class Locust and Predator, no-holds barred anything/any weapon goes, I got my $$$ on Pred. Pred is smaller so his agility is too much for the locust. Not to mention stealth camo. Even if he loses, Pred will just self-destruct so they both die. It's a cheap and selfish way to lose, but that's what makes him Predator.

No doubt. the locust would be dead within minutes. to big and slow. even the team in the first movie had a better chance, if only b/c they had camo, were small and they didn't have time to bleed.

Here is one persons opinion who recently got to play it:
By now everyone has seen the “Mad World” trailer released last week, and everyone has been wondering if the game actually looks that good. Quite honestly, I actually think the game itself looks better than the trailer.

I've watched some of those multiplayer games at gametrailers.com (whoever took it down needs to get beat). I have to say that I would not allow that laze gun. The gun that you laze the area then a satellite beams down on the reticule. It slows down the pace and is quite boring to use.
 
I really want that BB faceplate. As well as the Madcatz one (black w/ red skull).

Anyone have a pricing on the BB plate? I know that the Madcatz one is $29.99 and is only sold with that set of stickers.
 
Can anyone list for me the swag being given out for pre-orders or purchases on the 7th at various stores? (Namely Gamestop, since that's where mine is).

I am only aware of Circuit City and the faceplate.
 
I went to my local BB and asked the guy about the Faceplate, he was stocking some videogames and said that he did not received anything today...

Went also and check the one from EB/GS that loos like the one they gave out at E3 but sincerely my 360 is standing up and that faceplate will look bad on it, I will get the BB if I can find one.
 
I'm not sure I've ever understood faceplates and skins.

I've never had the desire to pretty up any other electronic appliance in my living room, why should I start?
