yea, i need to show my e-peen, get real i play video games for fun not to brag to people ill never know.

you never answered where you ride? your probably the guy who brags about his, "big air" or your "bag of tricks" then can barely ride. then again maybe not.
Whistler or Crystal, this weekend Whistler.
the thing that bothers me the most about the patch is every game I played last night... no matter what the connection strength... would shoot up a connection error in the middle resulting in people quiting, leaving a 2 on 3 type match up. Before the patch, I saw this only occur once. also, the amount of games to choose from has been limited... I only see about 6-7 each time I refresh when i know there are alot more out there. Before I had a lot to chose from.

About playing with your friends.... It is still possible to do it so stop crying. I have played with my roommate many of times after the patch. You just have to look for the exact same setup by searching specifically i.e. search execution and 8 rounds, then look for the level you want to play. About every room I am in, I play against friend clubs/clans. Half of the time the rooms don't even fill up anymore thus making it that much easier for people to come into the same room together.
About playing with your friends, they changed some settings for connection issues to provide the most stable connection. I don't get the explanation but it basically means you can't connect to some hosts due to an incompatibility issue between the connections. Ultimately this equates to not being able to play with A single firend or join certain games your friend is in.

I think that's what he was referring to.

Why do people still insist on calling others newb for killing with a chainsaw? On the contrary, isn't he the newb for being killed by a chainsaw? If I get spooked by a mofo with a shotgun and I just happen to have the lancer equipped, I am not gonna play aim and fire with him or switch weapons because I'll be dead within 3 seconds. This is the same reason why Americans will never catch up to Japanese/Korean gamers. We spend too much time whining and not enough about winning.

Like Vin Diesel says, "Ask any racer out there. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or by a mile. Winning is winning."

love everything in the new patch except how you're not able to kill someone with a chainsaw anymore when they're down. that used to be fun to do, now it does nothing :(

I can still do that

Anyone want to play Co-op on live after the OC(fuck you I am gay and I watch the OC)? Iti s on from 8pm-9pm EST. I want to finish the missions and get some Nerd Points.

If I'm on, send me a message, and I might play some co-op with you. No promises though. Especially if you send it while I'm knee deep in Oblivion. I need the last Dom achievement anyway.

Never quote Vin Diesel as words of wisdom...

Ok so i decided to play a mansion match yesterday before going out. Not one person on my team used a mic and 1 person quit early. We ended up winning 4 rounds in a first to 12, one was because i killed 3/4 people and another match because the other guy did the same.

This is the precise reason why i like to play with my friends. I cant count on other people and its frustrating playing the game with random people who dont talk and quit on you. So im done with GoW until a new patch, back to playing my other games :D

Earlier today I played a quick match with random people and everytime I was always the last person on my team to survive and it was usually 3vs1 or 4vs1, sometimes if I'm lucky then someone on my team would speak up and let me know where they died but no instead its complete silence. I feel like an idiot who keeps talking to himself.

The new maps are very dissapointing. Old Bones is alright, I guess. But they simply don't compare to Fuel Depot, Mansion, Tyro Station, Gridlock, Canals, Mausoleum, or any of the good GoW maps.

Then again none of the maps are truly fantastic, but the new ones (especially Raven Down), are below average.

Raven Down is the epitome of what Gears of War represent. This game is what finally made 3rd-person shooters be considered competitive by veteran FPS elite community because of how it pulled off the cover system so well. Raven Down showcases what GoW set out to be and how well it pulled together shooting, cover, and teamwork elements seamlessly.

The "veteran FPS elite community" doesn't give a shit about GoW, or any other console shooter, 3rd or first person.

Hey, anyone willing to play Act 4 and 5 with me on Co-Op (casual)?

I'm trying to get that last achievement as Dom. Almost had it last night and got a bit through Act 4, but the guy I was playing with got disconnected.

EDIT: nm, got it.

Agreed, but they play garbage like CS:S

I tried playing that today... the horror!

Anyway, Raven Down blows, along with Rooftops. The only maps worth playing are Gridlock, Canals, Clocktower, Fuel Depot and Old Bones and all NEED to be palyed with 8 players except Gridlock and Canals.

Two days ago, I was playing 4vs4 on gridlock. About halfway through the game, the connection thing came up which I have been getting a regular basis no matter how good the lobby tells me the connection is. When it finished, it ended up being one guy and I vs still the four. After another round or two, my guy gave up on me. So essentially it was me vs 4 guys... what did I do in this situation... sit back and wait for them to get 1 kill... what I didn't expect is they sent one guy at a time vs me. I ended up taking out the first pistol style, the next one had the sniper so I melee him, and the third with the shotgun. The last guy decided to try and camp with the sniper so I decided hey to wait for him as well... at this point, I think the host who had been killed earlier by me, got frustrated and just quit the game; thus killing the game....Man I hate situations like that.

Moral of story: these guys if working together could have easily taken me down but by doing one on one I had a chance to take them all down (which I did).... also another moral... stop quitting games in ranked or unranked matches. It is really annoying to know that my kills will not help my achievements or rankings when I am drop or I end up in a 2 on 4 situation which mostly occurs.

Thats pretty cool actually. Going one on one part.

Those kills still count towards achievements. I know how you feel about them not counting towards your rank, though.
ah woo woo ! :D
There's seriously no way I think I can beat it on hardcore. I suck at this game - there are parts of the casual setting that take me 4 or 5 tries...
Awesome CAG filled frag fest last night. Thanks for joining my game: KJ Auburn, Richlough, Xecutioner, & CheapyD

Good times! :D
Yeah, next time I'll try to get in a little sooner so I'm not stuck with 3 12-year olds and having to kill CAGs.

Isn't Insane only unlockable after beating Hardcore? I started up a new game a few weeks ago and was able to choose Insane, yet I've only beaten the game on Casual. Of course, now I'm stuck on that level where those wall crawling things come from both ends of a long hallway as Jack tries to cut open a door. Damn.

And it's gonna get a lot worse, trust me.

I remember a while back that someone said that shotgun kills don't count towards your online acheivements, is that true?

oh, thats gonna really piss me off.

I've only had it happen once, but in an execution round on ranked play all my teammates dropped and I destroyed an entire team of 4. That felt real nice sine they were really abusing some aspects of the game in the earlier rounds.

Hey if you CAGs, any of you, whether you are a popular CAG on the forums or not, want to play some gears tonight. I'm up for it. Shoot me some messages or something and I will be up around 11ish EST

There are some parts in Act 3 with the lambent wrecthes (or as you called them, "wall crawling things") that are about 10x nastier than that part. Good luck :p

I'll be up for the 11pm... of lost planet :)

Though I like GoW alot online, after playing ranked team based games in LP I am very confused now why GoW puts up so many limitations... heck LP's ranked games are almost as customizable as the player games... cliffy, stop BSing us!

also, after playing LPs multi, I like the unlockable stuff based off your character levels that you gain (much like rainbow six)... it's more enjoyable that way and I hope GoW impliments it in the next game.

Hopefully Lost Planet 2 worries less about unlockable dresses for your character and customizable matches and more about solid gameplay like GoW.

Agreed. I'd be playing LP multiplayer tonight if I didn't have to work the midnight opening for WoW.

The only time I enjoy Gears multiplayer is when it's on Raven Down.

I'm 100% on the same boat as you. (other than the working part... I guess that means 90%?)

I will be on something on XBOX tonight as well, and yes I have killed Wombat, he somehow owned me way more then I killed him though.

We ran though the first match or two until Wombat joined.
Where is the best/easiest spot to get the Clusterluck achievement?
1st chapter in the very begining when the Locust are cutting open the door. Wait to the right or left of the door and when it blows up, run in there and tag the first guy with a nade and block the door with your body as best as you can.

You should kill 3 and start right back at the same postion when you load the checkpoint.

Sounds easy enough, thanks for the tip. Will be trying this soon.
I may try this tonight as well
Me three.

Is there anyway to know what chapters one's played as Dom? I've kinda been jumping around and don't want to have to play through the whole game again.

I couldn't find any. I'm in the same boat I've played through half of a few acts.

Psssst. Here's a little secret: Gears of War and Lost Planet are two different games.

Lost Planet, as it is, is chaotic. There's not much to it in terms of strategy.

Gears of War has a very visceral sense of gameplay -- often times, it boils down to a match of rock, paper scissor moments.

Lost Planet is fun and all, but there's no rhyme to it's reason. It feels like a war -- Gears of War is a battle. They're two different experiences, and they both play as such.

To have strange, gimmicky game modes would take away from what Gears of War is successfully accomplishing.

The whole level thing is Lost Planet is nothing like the ranking system in Rainbow Six, where it actually tilts the gameplay -- the ability to buy new weapons and carry more armor, etc. It effects the gameplay in Rainbow Six. It's merely cosmetic in Lost Planet, where you can unlock two new patterns for your clothing.

I hope they don't implement something like this in the Gears of War sequel. If it was similar to the Lost Planet unlocks, that might be cool. If it tilted the gameplay, like Rainbow Six, it'd be fucking horrible.

In Gears of War, no matter what weapon each player has, each has the opportunity to take the other down (depending on play skill).

 I like where you state that the core of gears of war is more paper rock scissors and not like a war while the game distinctly has the word "war" on it.
but yes, I get what you mean so don't take this as not agreeing.

I just prefer the online on Lost planet... if you get a kill on lost planet it means alot since you work so hard most of the time to get one... plus the vehicles and levels steal the show. for gears, it's more based on "buddy system" than "army" ... so yes, they are two veyr differnt games in the same genre.

if anything, I still never felt the whole "war" aspect of the game, though that's fine. I think it owuld be awsome to play this through MMO where you gain ground and loot or whatever by going into PvP matches with your team... still 4 vs 4 in the standard map, but it changes depending on overall what side is winning.

also, I hope down the line you can have COG vs. COG and Locust vs. Locust... just as long as they have colors so you wont shoot your teamate.
