So who here pussed out and started on Casual? Or are you a bit more daring so you chose Hardcore? Or are you flat out dimented and chose Insane?

Well, you can't pick Insane right off the bat. You got to unlock it.

But, me and Trak beat it on casual first to get the hang out it.

Now, were playing hardcore.

Then, we'll beat it on Insane. Looking forward to it.

Started on casual because I was playing with a less experienced friend, but I got into Hardcore before finishing the game on that difficulty and then went back to it when playing with that first friend.

I'm playing hardcore because you can't play insane untill hardcore is done... Just about through with act 2 I think, i'm loving it after finally prying myself off the multiplayer. :D

Yeah, I "pussed out" too... nice wording op
... anyway, by working through the difficulties like this, I get more achievements anyway

Not really because when you complete an act on hardcore you get the casual achievement for free. :)

I started on Casual, but I'm not much of a FPS guy. Not only do I prefer them with mouse and keyboard, but I'm mainly playing to see what all the hype and talk is.

i guess i really suck at this game, cause i am getting my ass handed to me all the time on casual. its very difficult

Beat the game for the first time last night with a friend over LIVE on Hardcore.

Currently on our way through ACT 1 on Insane

Whoever said Insane is lying.

Picked hardcore. I usually do the second hardest setting on my first time through to try to get a bit more out of the game ("heroic" on Halo/Halo 2, "hardened" on CoD2, etc). Since there are only two choices I went for the harder difficulty.

I'm apparently not that good yet, still not used to the controls. I've had a limited time to play. Being able to aim where I want to run and using the chainsaw correctly consistently is a problem. Hate the grenade system. Still enjoying this more than I did Halo on the XBox though.

Playing by myself for now. Maybe I'll try a level I've already beat later on with a friend.

Started on casual to get a feel for the game, now me and my buddy are doing co-op through the other 2 so we can get the dom achievements.

Finished Casual last night and today I'm starting to go through hardcore. I just finished Act I and wow the AI definitly is better, too bad I couldn't say the same for my dumbass AI squadmates.

started on hardcore...beat act 1 so far..i'm on Act 2 right now...after i beat the whole SP on hardcore by myself, i'll co-op with someone on insane...

can you unlock achievements if you coop? what about cogtag achievements or is that only for the guy hosting the coop game?

Hardcore. I'm just that way with my single player games.

Casual is for casual multiplayer games, not for experiencing a game like this for the first time.

I started on Hardcore... am currently at the start of Act IV. There have been some points in the game where I wished I was on casual because of the difficulty. I don't even think I will attempt Insane unless I'm in co-op mode...

Did Act 1 on Casual at first, then went back and started over on Hardcore.

I am on Act 2 right now, and it seems easier then Act 1 so far.

That's what I do/did. So I also chose hardcore. After not being able to get out of the prison after 4 tries, I pussed out. I think most of it had to do with learning the controls/weapons vs. wanting to actually make it somewhere the first hour I played it.

I'm going to work through hardcore on co-op.

Damn, is the single player that short people were able to complete it in a day on the easiest difficulty? This really makes me think this will have a lot of replay value when I get it soon.

I started on Casual, but recently changed to Hardcore.

A friend of mine said that I can actually get the Casual achievements through beating Hardcore...any truth to that?

Beating hardcore gets you the casual achievements.

I started on hardcore, just finished act I.
The only place I've had trouble with was 'entering the house of sovereigns' because I tried to stay outside and fight instead of running inside and flanking :)

Sweet. I wish I knew that from the beginning. Oh well, I'll probably play through the first act again later on.

Hardcore, as frustrating as it is at times, is actually pretty fun.

There is a sense of accomplishment when you get checkpoint to checkpoint. It also creates a crazy amount of tension when you get Locusts flanking you or rushing you when you try to shoot at them from a distance.
