I'm sad even by the fact that Ryu is barely played... Ken dolls for everyone.

I'm pretty sure "Masters" has been canon for some time now. I'm not sure when it was introduced, but I do remember them mentioning that the CvS2 tournament was partly sponsored by the Masters Corporation, and therefore Ken Masters. I know that CvS2 isn't canon, but I doubt they'd include the last name at all if it weren't true.

for some reason, i really really want a fightstick SE. i have a TE on the way but i still want an SE... and i have no idea where to find it. it's not particularly urgent. i've had a extra sanwa parts sitting at home for months and i figure they need to get some play... but i wanna know where i can get one once they make more.

is it me or did cammy just get shafted in sf4? she takes way too much damage, has zero range on her FA, cannon drill doesn't bust through other FAs and is really unsafe, and her pokes are more like SF2 than CvS2.

when playing the CPU Abel, i did j.hp, c.mk xx cannon drill twice. then he did his throw and we were even.

it really makes me think that the designers were like "oh she's a girl so let's have her take more damage!" instead of like "well, she has more attack potential and speed, so to balance that we should make her take more damage."
The roundhouse version of cannon drill can break through FAs. Her Hooligan sucks too, it doesn't grab crouched opponents. Only semi-useful thing is TK'ing Cannon Strikes. Which you can combo into a ultra if the EX TK Cannon Strike hits.

There are definitely some balancing tweaks that I think need to be made. Haven't played with Cammy yet, but I could see the damage issue being annoying.

Man, so you actually can't grab a crouching opponent with Cammy's hooligan? And here I thought I was doing it wrong :(

That's one of the reasons I was getting frustrated last night. Abel and Geif were throwing my El Fuerte all over the place.
around 1:08 this guy manages to dash into a super. How is that possible
Same question here. I've seen it done but can't seem to pull it off.

EDIT: For charge characters of course.

Hmm, would the dash be registered during the SUper input?

i.e. charge back, forward, back, forward , (slight delay) kick

I dunno, I would think the two forwards would register as a dash. Unless there's that charge glitch from STHD...

If this is so, then it'd be kind of a semi-stored super. More like a delayed super.

If someone can verify that the attack special register window has been increased, that would be great.

To dash into super is easy..

You can do charge, f,f,b,f+button.

You have to do it really fast.

You can do focus attack crumple into dash cancel out into ultra easy...

Sounds like TTT ;)

That's what I've been trying to do... but on a pad. :bomb:

This is what I failed to understand at first trying to do Vipers crumple into EX Thunder Knuckle. I knew you could FADC but didn't realize the same after the hit #-o
crumple? TTT? so lost...
Crumple state. The state after getting hit with a focus attack. You're in a vulnerable stun state to be comboed.

TTT is Tekken Tag Tournament.

hmm, charge partitioning, I see.

So would it be like

Charge b (part of the charge time), f,f, charge b(remaining part of charge time during dash), f+kick?

So are you just adding those charge times to get 1 full charge? Also if you charge too long initially, will charge partitioning still be possible?

Jump > spd spamming zangiefs.

do a relatively safe move that they will think is punishable, jump over their spd, punish.

Also, POKE POKE POKE POKE POKE.

most of blankas moves,
read on gootecks he uses like his index to do tech throws and throws.

mostly for dash canceling and FA canceling...

not yet FADC....cant even do norm canceling lol

so after reading i get u can cancel special moves, ie. horz roll/electricity?

i can do them just maybe theres a better way to do them so i get rid of bad habits now as opposed to later.

If you're doing jumpins than end or have a charge move in them, you have to remember to start charging immediately after the jump starts.

dash canceling is done with the fa buttons held down, otherwise a level 1 attac kwill come out.

For charge moves into supers, the motion of the special counts as the first motion for the super, so you just have to do one more quick b,f punch or kick in quick succession.

I'm not very good with charge characters!
I think Zangief might be broken though. His can throw from fuckING ANYWHERE. It's ridiculous.
You play Blanka. The matchup is in your favor. Be smart with your horizontal balls, lariat will sometimes beat them and jumping mk will snuff it every time. Vertical ball beats the lariat. The slide will sweep out of the lariat, just don't get into the habit of throwing it out constantly or you're going to be eating a focus attack and then a piledriver/super/ultra. Electricity stops crossups, just be wary if Gief has meter because if you're baited into electricity, you're eating an EX green hand. Stay the hell away from Gief and poke him to death. Play patient and do whatever the hell it takes to get away from him.

Sagat and Blanka can be nightmares for Zangief. He has his flaws.

wait so......theres no such thing as a dash cancel by itself?
u have to hold FA then dash?

so let me get this straight....
to focus attaack dash cancel
you..
1) excecute horizontal roll charge back, forward+punch
2) instantly hit FA
3) instantly press forwward forward to dash

thats how im interpreting what u said.

i thought u could
1) horizontal roll( charge back, forward+punch)
2) then instantly tap forward forward to do a dash.

I'm actually getting pretty decent at this game. I was like 7-3 today. :)

I'm using Ken and slowly adapting to how everyone plays against him. I'm also learning a few combos that work pretty well.

Oh yeah, I'm playing with the Dual Shock 3 since I sold my modded HRAP3 because I thought my pre-order from Amazon for the TE stick would go through... big mistake.

are there advantages or disadvantages to using the roundhouse or triple punch buttons?
im curious to see why everyone uses only 6 buttons vs all 8 for that purpose...

Machines at arcades only have 6 buttons, so I'll guess that it's for arcade purposes.

I would use triple only when you intend to use triple. Otherwise you will end up doing EX versions of moves once you have meter... Dont' want to waste em.

You can only dash cancel out of focus attacks, barring some sort of special type of deal like blanka's PPP move. Even with that, you couldn't dash cancel out of specials with it, only normals.

Blanka's PPP move is a hoppy thing, so its sorta like a faux dash cancel.

wow it all makes sense now.. i was like why the hell cant i dash cancel out of a special move? LOL

so.. u can Focus attack cancel out of any special move then?

good games nibi! lol. i was too sleepy to keep playing :( worked from 7am to 3 pm lol.

your e.honda is pretty good, pissed me off being stuck in the corner.. haha!

ggs Gigan, I picked characters whose super I already forgot how to input lol. That one devastating round against Gief made Abel sad :(

I didn't accept any invitations after because I left my PS3 on and went out :p

Btw, anyone use a mic while playing?

GG"s to Gigan. Zangief infuriates me because I have to play a safe as Abel as opposed to how I usually play.

As I think HeavyD put it best, Zangief can pretty much SPD out of anything in SFIV. Start-up? What Start-up?

Anyone really good chun's want to play me so I can get a feel of her game? I like her moveset a lot, but I haven't seen anyone play her in SF4 so I don't know how I should attack training. fucking SRK is down again.

I'm doing her normal challenge mode and it's asking for three successive Yosokyaku's. I can't figure out how to do one.

Anyone wanna build me a custom (HankmeCrankMe, Jekki.... whoever?)

I think I want an octagonal gate. Don't mind the square but I ride it to hard when I have to do 2xQCF in a pinch and I end up screwing the super up.

Edit: If anyone takes me up on the custom offer, obviously you would be compensated.

I would, but I don't have the necessary tools and it's cold as fuck here currently. Just snag a Norris box when they go up next month. Soldering I can do, unless it's super small.

It's just d+mk while in the air. Watch her vid, you'll get an idea of how.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBfpzN0-GQA

I've only fought one Chun Li and she was whooping my ever-lovin ass. Got killed by her jump ins as well as a lot of dash-in/crouch combos. Whoever used her knew what they were doing, kept mixing it up and dizzied me pretty fast.

It was a couple days ago so I don't remember exactly what a lot of the combos were, but most consisted of crouch lk's > standing jab for 5-6 hits and didn't use the Bird Kick once.

sorry Jimbo man, I swore after the pain of my last stick that I would never do that again,

unless sum nice power tools and free time fall into my lap from the heavens one day.

anyway, PS3 version in the house!!

THE HOUSE!!

gotta broken TE stick too lol.

dont wanna play much today tho, tomorrow I'll play a lil bit more tho
I want to play you Jer.
asian, you ready for an asswhooping?
Yea, I'm online on PSN now. Hit me up.

GG's to Beef. I like how we are so familiar with each other's gameplay, that it becomes a stand-off.

P.S- Shini....answer some invites foo!
