quick question

anyone know what the reqs are to get gold medals in survival?
You pretty much have to play till it stops you, which is (from what I've seen so far) getting double what they ask (for ex. if it requires 6 stages, then getting 12)

On normal just keep fighting till it ends. On hard, i stopped at 41 for most of them, i went to 51 on the last one just in case. Ive read 39 is silver.

Has anything been posted yet on what the plot is in T6? Also any screens of King? I read that Armored King is coming back, or some one wearing his mask?!
What I wanna know is if that music was actually from T6:BR or some dubbed over music. If that's the music in T6:BR then :drool::drool:
Yeah, the music sold me on that... I'm guessing it's in-game though... blended in seamlessly enough, so...

Im tired of playing SF4 online in a player match, winning the first 1-2 games and then the person quits immediately. How do you get better if you dont face people better then you? Man, i just want to play someone a ton of games in a row to get that 500 games played online achievment at this point. Im at 328 games played online, 232 wins, 72% win rate. But if people keep quiting after 1-2 matches of losing, its going to take me an eternity with the crappy cannot join crap that happens so often.

Create a room in ranked and wait a few seconds, sometimes people join almost instantly. I've fought some awesome players that way.

I have had some damned good matches creating rooms. There was this Bison who almost perfected me all three rounds, only thing that saved me from being perfected was Gouken's counter.

I've had some frustratingly good games. Seems like my wins are primarily against people with around 200-300 points, then I get randomly slaughtered by guys with 3000+ points and lose hundreds of points in the process. I'm pretty much stuck in the 2500 range.

Psh, I have a terrible sub-1000 BP. I had trouble finding a character I could punish others as in any situation.

Some nights I cannot connect to anyone. ANYONE.

One night last week I was hosting a ranked match while playing my DS for like 15 min. Then I tried to join and it seriously told me "There are no matches available"

WTF? This is SF4!

ARRRRRRR
My 360 is affected by my NAT apparently so I have trouble connecting to others. The PS3 isn't though. It's weird and annoying.
DSL?
SNKP USA probably screwed it up somehow but since the 360 version is months away, I guess it is worth it.
Where are people getting confirmations for that?

Via SRK members who post on SNKP's boards, word is one of the mods said KOFUM for 360 is delayed until 2010.

Also business wise, why even bother putting it out on PS2 of all systems if an XBL release is on it's way months later? Shit doesn't make sense.

I'll support the PS2 release if SNKP didn't fuck up the translation over again.

Only reason I can think of is because maybe SNKPUSA is indeed on its way out (at least, I've heard from multiple people that they're basically done in the US), so maybe this is their last attempt to steal some money with shoddy products. If they're not gonna be around when the 360 version hits, why should they care?

Yours too? I thought I was the only one. PS3's perfect but the 360's just bitchy. It used to be the other way around when I had Adelphia.
SNKPUSA is indeed on its way out
Looks like I'll be importing KoFXII then ... actually I'd have to either way because it would take 3 years to get here.

Guys. I think I'm gonna drop out of school and quit my job and just play SF for GameStop gift cards for the rest of my life.

So my tourny had 16 people, 3 Blankas, about 5 Ryus, 2 Sagats, a Viper, a Chun, a Dhalsim, a Zangief, a Ken, a Vega, and.... that's it I guess. I was paying attention. About half used the d-pad and half used the analog stick. We had to use default controls which is lame cuz I wasn't used to them. Every time I tried to taunt, a focus attack came out. Every time I tried to Ultra, my HP Blanka Ball would come out haha. I fought the Dhalsim in the quarter-finals. It went 3-0 with the last round being a perfect. He left immediately out of shame. My semi-final was a Blanka. He wasn't bad.. knew some combos and stuff, but I think I knew the dynamics of the character in general better. My final match was a Chun who was pretty good. It was 3-2 and down to the wire. He knew all types of combos and crazy shit but my mind games were better. I kept him guessing and never let him feel safe. He was kind of upset when he lost I think. He was telling me how much he posts at SRK and how awesome his custom stick is... I didn't use any Ultras or focus attacks against him.. meanwhile he hit me with about 5 Ultras and a few focus attacks. He didn't even want his $15 gift card cuz he "doesn't buy games", so I got his $15 gift card in addition to my $20 gift card. They didn't have any SFIV pads to give away so he said he'll call me as soon as they get them in. It was a lot of fun! People were making fun of me because I was nervous and jittery while playing... the next round is regionals and it looks like the winners from MD-PA-VA-WV will be there. I can't wait! :D

Oh yeah.. forgot to mention that while others were playing I watched some crackhead get escorted by security cuz apparently he goes around to every Baltimore GameStop and steals DualShocks...
Nice work. Good luck in round 3! :)

I should've entered my GS tournament, but I would've had no way of getting there today anyway.
You'd of traumatized those poor people for life.

Not because of my skillz, but because of my beard and hair, amirite? Honestly, I've seen some scary ass people at GS, male and female. :)

Gouken's beard and hair would traumatize them. Actually, they wouldn't see it because Gouken's palm would be in their face.

I've never seen anyone scary at my GS...

Moving on to round three as well. Some of the best players in the area will be there, most of which I played at a separate tourney last night. Should be fun, we'll see what happens.
You dual-mod your stick yet, Kado?
Not yet, but I know a guy around here that can do it. I'll get it done sooner or later and I'll let you know when I pick SFIV up on dat triple.

I'm prolly late for the SFIV party, but does anyone here not like the online system of SFIV?

I hate having to go to arcade and connect that way. All I realy see are 2 bar people when looking manually for an opponent. I also wish there were lobbies as well. Sigh Capcom, you guys are fucking lame. Just adopt the GGPO method and code already. You already have the rights.

On another note, single player is just awesome. Crap load of stuff to unlock.

Yes, no double blind select was the worst thing to happen to SFIV ever.
any tips on throwing?
or teching throws?

i never know when to do them.

do u guys usually do throws after someone whiffs?
You don't have to worry about throws too much asides from getting out of tick throws. If you get thrown on a wiff they could have done much better in all likelyness.

Just be aware that people have throw patterns, a common one I see is jump in fierce, walk up, throw. These seem hard to get out of at first but if you keep an eye out they're really easy to recognize.

A common one I use alot is cross up, cr lk, walk up (split second) throw. All of these are techable, and easy to spot once you get the hang of it. I think ken's kara throw isn't techable or something, or at least its way harder to get out of because of its range and the mixup possibilities he has with it. (He can throw you after three light attacks or a single medium one without having to walk)

LOL @ dropping out of school!

I was just discussing some of your points with some players last night at a Game Crazy. How in SF4, less is definitely more. It's like they put the ultras and supers in just to hook the short attention span new jacks, but really SF4 is all about mind games and tick throws. Seriously.

The better you are at not telegraphing your moves, using the same combos over and over, and being able to adapt and overcome your opponents psychie....the better you are.
Markmang interview is up!
Hey Jimbo, I'm not quite in the know...could you post a link for these interviews or please point me in the right direction?:bouncy:

For throws, at least in my case, just train youself to throw whenever they are in range. Basically, whenever they are right next to you, press LP+LK.

But if they are mixing up ticks and lows, that'd be the only time you'd have to start guessing throw or not.
