The movie comes on Blu Ray on the PS3 version? Sick, I'm definitely grabbing it now.
Yep. I hope Best Buy has the CE, because I have a $40 gift card just waiting to be used on it.

I'm getting it on the PS3 (don't have 360). Already preordered from deepdiscount. Hopefully the online play is improved over the HDR online play. Goddamn, so many glitches and lost connections, starting to irk me.

btw, I think I want to move back to Chun-li for STHDR. However, I'm having some trouble, especially in the anti-air dept. Mostly against Blanka and the jump in RH from shotos. Since I've been playing Guile, I usually charge down-back. Should I use the vertical whirlwind kick when playing as Chun-li? It just doesn't seem as reliable as a flash, srk or tiger upper. Also seems like a straight jump up RH is better, though if I'm in charging position to block sweeps or low hits, a vertical ww kick comes out often. Anyone got any tips for Remix Chun?

I tried the normal spinning bird kick, but it's hard to land. And to catch someone in the air, I have to know for sure they're jumping in and execute it early since the startup is crap. I'll experiment with it more. So far it could be used as a late/delayed crossup. Though it feels like I could easily get hit out of it.
It's on ben's bargins, SD, etc. :whistle2:(
There's no way that it was going to stay quiet... it's over a month until release. And it's not like CAGs aren't buying this thing left and right as we speak.

But regardless, B&N is horrible at honoring price mistakes (even little ones, much less a $110 drop). We'll all get our cancellation emails, but at least can say we tried.
Man that ochio throw still weirds me out! I've actually incorporated it into my Honda game now, but it still comes out accidentally all the time. Like I'll block a move and start mashing punch to do a hundred handslap - then BAM, a surprise ochio comes out! I guess I'm just doing half-circle motions into my blocking stance without realizing it??
Rez. :bouncy:

Actually.. same thing happens to me. I think it's when someone tries to cross me up, I'll go from blocking one side to blocking to the other, and in the process I guess I'll hcb, then I'll jab to break the cross-up and the Ochio comes out.

I lost faith a while ago, but I'll get around to seeing it:

I can't remember if stored Ochio still exists in HD Remix, but if it does that might explain that situation.

I'm slowly getting better. I've gone from complete noob to noob with the basics down. Almost holding my own against the CPU on expert.

That's better than I'm doing. I'm too used to Marvel and crazy ass complicated shit going on all the time everywhere!

ST is fun though

I still have trouble on medium. :(

Haha, I play pretty cheap though, but I guess that's what a shoto is right?!

I'm having a ton of fun with the game, sucking or not. The player matches online are really fun when you get someone relatively close to your level.

Also, I hate Fei Long. With a passion.
I still have trouble on medium. :(
I thought it was just me, but the comp is cheap. They are able to continuously charge moves.
Fei shouldn't be tough if you're a shoto. As long as you aren't trying to jump in against him, you should be fine.
That double kick thing just kept raping me. I couldn't really put any distance between us for some reason.

It was my first time to play a real person playing him, so maybe that's why.

Also, I'll be on all day after school tomorrow testing out my stick if anyone wants to play.

I have most of this week free, so if you see me online, holla.

I tried adding you on PSN, Puma, but you must hate me, or something. :(

Just be sure to not do any fireballs if he's in double kick range, since IIRC he can just block and punish the recovery depending on which fireball it is. You can jab shoryu through it too, but the timings kinda annoying.

That was exactly my problem, lol. Threw fireballs at the wrong time and didn't time the shorys right.

Beef, I never pay attention to my message inbox on PS3 since it's doesn't yell at me like on live. Just send me another and I'll accept it as soon as I get on.

I'm sad that the callous on my left thumb won't get uber hard now.

Jab shoryuken can break through the chicken wing. Practice doing an SRK from crouch position, it'll aid you greatly against the chicken wing spamming Fei Long. Crouching is bait enough for Fei to do his double kick.
I can't remember if stored Ochio still exists in HD Remix, but if it does that might explain that situation.
yeay, storing Oicho is still in HD Remix.

if ppl dont know, storing is doing a motion on the joypad, and holding down the last directional input as a means to delay the punch/kick input to finish the move's execution.

so for example, u can do a QCF but hold down forward and you'll keep walking forward... then press punch and you'll throw out a fireball. (not a real example btw... jus a conceptual one)

with Honda u can do the Oicho motion into a low block, then while guarding u can mash punch and when a window of opportunity comes up you'll magically Oicho the opponent.

So, I gut a green 360 controller in the mail and played some Remix with it. Couldn't really tell the difference. With Shoto characters, I did ok on the pad.. not so much with charge characters. After a while I just went back to the analog stick.

I'm still on the fence on picking up the XBL SF HD Remix. I've got a couple of SF collections...is it really that good to warrant the purchase?

Keep in mind, I'm hell-bent right now on finishing a few games I still haven't beat, like GTA IV, and making a dent in my backlog of unopened shit sitting on the shelf. Hell, i still only have half the SC IV achievements, and am only on floor 13 of the Tower!

Can't stop playing CoD multiplayer...

Another topic - I'm DYING to play SamSho next month on the PS2. It's been far far too long since I was disappointed with V on the og xbox.

If you want a game where you can jump in any time and play a few rounds, then it doesn't get much better than this, especially if you consider online multiplayer. If you like unlocking things and having a sense of completion, then you're better off investing time elsewhere.

Oh, I'm not looking for anything to unlock...I'm just questioning how much play I'd get out of it. When I want a fix, I can always pop in the SF:Anniversary disc, or SF:Alpha Anthology. Obviously, neither of those are online...but I'm not sure I care for SSF, which was not exactly my fave SF game. I think I just answered my own question - it would be played sparingly, I think.

I think I need to fire up the Dreamcast and SFIII:TS after I get back from the Pens game tonight. Or some Vampire Chronicle...
What does that have to do with anything JEKKI?
well we're the fighting gamers right??

that video is the very essence of fighting... or at least one of the essences.

if u disagree then it's coz you're weak. WEAK!!

step up or Mana Knight.

Don't you dare refer to me as Mana Knight.. that's just cold. :cold:

And Ronin, Remix is the definitive SF2, all other versions are obsolete.

Well, I've been playing this game since I got it, which was about 3 weeks ago or more. It's currently the game I've been playing most. Also was playing Motorstorm and GTA4 (finally completed it last weekend) on the side, but the game still holds up very well.
April 2009! Do I import right away or wait indefinitely for a bargain bin US port?!?
If you want to spend a few thousand dollars to import the arcade board. April 2009 is the release date for the arcade version.
I was thoroughly entertained.
Thanks! It's hard to follow anything Chac does. This is the truth.

Also to comment on your "'..hanging out no mo'" comment, my schedule is opening up for good in about a week or so. Hopefully I start figuring out how much time I can devote driving around the Bay for FG hang outs :)

Fun interview. Can't wait to read everyone else's from FG Alumni. Also I love how me being a CVS2 dork is apparent to everyone who talks/meets me. At this point even my girlfriend knows what Roll Canceling is/looks like :)

Lol, I know. I figure it'll be out for japan consoles by what, fall? Before EOY, I imagine.

I dunno if I can wait until 2010 or whenever SNKP decides to release it in the US. :p

Edit: for consoles!

I don't know how comfortable you'd be driving up to Sacto, mang.

Yeah, I love MVC2. I have no clue how to play, but damn it's fun.

If I could get nulldc to display fullscreen it would be even better.
