Unfortunately I'm really not good at teaching stuff in video games. All I can really say is don't be predictable, but you already know that. With Dan, it's even harder to close in than usual :whistle2:(

GG's Suko. I really needed to play someone high level to see what I was going to get punished for and such. Now I need to watch some chun match vids.
 
GG's! That first match we had I was being super cautious since I'm really not used to fighting Chun's in case you're wondering. Were you trying to ultra me as I'm fireballing? Just keep practicing and you'll get it!
 
That actually wasn't a random ultra, lol. I wanted to see if I could get it out and connect during ryu's hadoken recovery. Of course it didn't fucking work. :lol:

I like it when we both played ryu (I legit picked him on accident lol) and you ultra'd, and I ultra'd immediately after and somehow I was still invincible when yours should have hit.

Agreed. This is CAG, we help each other out here. We're not the little bitches from SRK. Speaking of help... I got my ass beat by this one guy at my school. Looks like I finally found someone that take me down more times than I can take him down. I need to step my game up.

Questions:

Does Blanka have any overheads?
Is there anything safe to do on wakeup?

that high fierce where it looks like hes raising the roof?

or do u mean like... cross over type ish thing? his vertical roll?
 
Chun players *jer*, what should I be using when we're both in the air? Do I go for the throw, or do I roundhouse?

Also, I can't get the lkx3 ex legs to work right most of the time.

I don't think upwards roll is safe on wakeup.. also some cross up combos would be nice but I'm not good at doing crazy combos on the 360 pad. :cry: (come on stick arrive already!)

See, those sorts of vids are why I don't think I'll ever get into Tekken. I feel like you've gotta just memorize shit endlessly to be able to play it competently.

Yea, the style just isn't my thing either. Don't get me wrong, I know it's a good game, just not my type of game.

combo videos make me feel the same but for any fighter... just like any true fighter though it's mostly not about the combos and more about the fight. same goes for tekken, but it's not for everyone... I'm shit at 2D fighters but Tekken is butter to me.

his overhead is close standing MP, but u gotta hold forward or backward I think to pull it off

Also distgfx don't worry too much about the list Rolento and I came up with. Hell it says that I would be maining 3 more characters than I am currently.

Abel is too fun and I'm going to stick with him for the time being.

I hate to say it, but I'm liking Akuma. Took me like 10 times running through arcade mode to unlock Gouken ('cause I didn't realize I wasn't getting five first strikes in on top of everything else) with him, but it's fun. >_<

I gotta stick to my guns and learn Abel or some some other less shoto-y character. :p
 
heads up: got my black costume in today for the MarkMan character... in fact I'm wearing it as i'm typing here... super comfy!

this weekend I record the last dialogue for the commercials of Blueswim and JimboSlice/Mr.Beef.

after monday shooting for the film begins immediately.

Obviously the first suggestion I made when we played was to not just Blanka Ball for the hell of it. Someone like Abel can punish the hell out of that. Ultra from full screen blocked BB, sure!

Just know your match-ups. I liked at times you used Elec sparingly against my Abel. Mostly to stop my Cross-Ups -----> Everything. I've played too many Blanka players that just mash out Elec for the hell of it, thinking that nothing can break it. Be careful with characters that have EX Armor like Abel. For example the times where I would EX Armor Rekka, absorb the first hit of Elec and then do my thing. With Abel I focus really on being patient, getting an opening or a knockdown. Once I have a knockdown and I have my opponent guessing what my options are when they are knocked down, the fun begins.

Definitely learn some simple BnB combos with Blanka. I'm sure JEKKI, kainzero, Smallwind, or Phrost can shed more light in playing Blanka. I know his Ultra is decent at best, if I'm not mistaken it might have the ability to cross-up or overhead. Anyone confirm?

I'll keep you on my PSN friend list though, so if you ever want to practice, let me know.
