Compliment: Whenever I get knocked down against your Abel I'm like "Ahhhh crap!" :)
Thanks! Good to know haha :)

Complement back: Whenever you have meter of any kind with your Ryu, I get a little worried.

So I recently found the option in Online games to search for "More Skilled Players", which I'm guessing finds people with more battle points? So far I've run into people under what I have, which is about 2500BP.

generally you'll find people closer to your range. i use "same skilled" which tends to gets me people from a range -1000 < my score < 200.

i haven't been following the blazblue news. when's the console release?

markman: i'm starting to get in gear for anime expo stuff, i wanna run a few ideas by you since i've never actually ran a tournament before, but i have some ideas i wanna run by you. also if you can, can you PM or AIM me harry's contact info? he's my sponsor contact and it's probably better for me to get it from you than to go through the convoluted and busy channel of AX, haha =)

on the ListenUp podcast someone asked if 2009 was the year of fighters; he's like "yeay SF4, SamSho anthology, new KOF and 'BlueBlaz'"

and the response was like "what about last year? We had Soul Calibur IV, Smash Bros, and MK v DC, how is 2009 any different? Plus, BlazBlue is a real bad name"

and then they said "yeay and I doubt Tekken 6 will do any good, it aint no street fighter. I was way back into Tekken 3 before but it hasnt been the same since then. Tekken Tag came out and it was a horrible game! It was such a cash in"

and the whole time I'm like lol

I have a sad time thinking the general public has the same feelings >_

Dammit...gamestop has the preorders for SamSho PSP and Wii versions pushed to 4/7/09. And they still don't have the PS2 version listed...Amazon is still showing 3/10 for the PS2. WHAT THE fuck, SNK?

I may not like Tekken, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's gonna be fuckin' huge.

I lost 100+ BP in one game last night because I forgot to change my controls back from when I was doing Seth's Hard Challenges. :(
I may not like Tekken, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's gonna be fuckin' huge.
They're definitely underestimating Tekken, I'm in the same position as you. It may not be as big as SFIV's launch but it'll definitely be bigger than KoFXII or BlazBlue and then some. It's a well known fighter, I could mention its name to any of my friends and they'd say how awesome Tekken (3 specifically) was. I hope they do what they did with T5 and give it an arcade stick bundle. That'd be nice...

Tekken 6 will be my real christmas. I'll rape children to get it. It's the one game people can't talk shit about around me. To be honest, it's the only series of games that I'd cut off a limb for.

... Wow, can you explain what you love about the series? I've never seen such passion for it.

So gaiyz.. I went up to the UMBC game room today and it was early, before all the dudes with sticks came up.. so I was playing on a pad, which is good I guess cuz I think Round 3 will be on pads. Anyway, I was taking turns playing random and beating scrubs. I beat this one dude using one hand with Zangief.. all I did was spam 360 and LB hahahha. OH YEAH, then the stick people came up and one guy had an American style stick... it was sooooo weird, I couldn't get used to it. :\
^ I understand the feeling. I get the same way with the Hamsterz series.
Don't get me started... I had Hamsterz for a while... got obsessed with it for a week. not joking >_<
... Wow, can you explain what you love about the series? I've never seen such passion for it.
It's the only game I've ever played where the controls feel like butter to me. it feels like an extension of my body. Plus I'm a nut about power based fighting and Tekken has a huge emphasis on it. Also, love characters that are badass and the entire series puts emphasis on badass.
Wait, so you guys aren't kidding about Hamsterz? :whistle2:s
I am at least... don't know about Rodimus.
I always wanted to learn to use Kuma when I played Tekken briefly. It didn't pan out well.
I did as well, but ever since T4 came out with his bear stance I got lost, but liked him more. I've always had Jack as a secondary main though. He's always been my character to fall back on if I'm having trouble kicking ass... he seems to always save me.

on that note Jack6 is insanely fast compared to his old days...
Nice job!
Funny thing is that he posts on SRK, so I went ahead and posted the pictures there too :)

So if you manage to get thrown 9 times in one match (all of which you can tech out of, unless you are throwing random fireballs/baited Shoryu's) who is the scrub?
Wait, so you guys aren't kidding about Hamsterz? :whistle2:s
Yeah I was kidding. But I must admit I've actually contemplated buying it. I think one day I'll get it as a gag gift cause I joke about it so much.

Nice job asian. I love reading peoples hate messages. Keep us updated if he responds on SRK.

Why rage quit? It's a hell of a lot more fun to play someone who's good and kicks your ass, I must be the only one who loves a good beating. It helps you learn from it. =P

I'd be lying if I said I don't get upset when I loose too much, but I don't quit matches, that's a puss move. I get worse the more upset I get. So if I find myself getting too angry I politely just stop playing for a while.

Eveytime I get someone that quits I simply send them a message with a little smiley face. It seems to tick em' off even more--> :) It's kinda like saying, "I don't mind if you just quit, but I still won." I get lots of hate messages after I send those.

Yikes... it's just a game, no need for them to rage quit. Guess I'm just more laid back, I have fun even if I get my ass kicked.

Hope he does. I find it odd that he threatened to kill someone on SRK and he hasn't been banned there yet :)

Also regarding T6, I suck at Tekken (and most 3-D fighters) but I'll still be buying it. My girlfriend loved playing T5DR and should have fun playing T6.

i despise the fact that i haven't gotten a single hate message.

all i get are compliments
probably because i use sakura

I've gotten a hate message before ... but not for the reason I wanted it to be. I'll just say this. Never make a wireless controller for a fighting game, ever. Batteries eventually run out and your character goes out of control until it finally cut off.

EDIT: I'd like to note that this controller couldn't be charged before anyone mentions that, it was the FightPad. Gotta replace the batteries manually.

Woooooo!! Two more Survival Normal levels and no more Time Trial/Survival for me. Just wanted to unlock all the colors :)

EDIT: Dumb question...what do "Personal Actions" do? I keep unlocking them but I have no idea what they are for. Winning poses?
Kuma was one of my mains in Tekken Tag :)

Tekken 4 ruined him :(
Tekken 4 ruined a lot of things, didn't it? It ruined my love for Tekken after Tekken Tag Tournament.

I loved 3s the moment I played it... is the guide really that helpful though? I've never even seen it.

I only tried 3S because my roommate was playing it, and he needed someone to help him practice with Alex (a moving punching bag, if you will). I picked Yun only because I use him in CvS, and he was weird, but I still liked him. Didn't have the quickness to do the...whatsitcalled Custom Combo SA.

it had a bunch of info on what could be parried and how it should be parried, combos, tips for certain match-ups (usually against ken) and an extensive guide to te different verison of the sf2 characters form the anniversary game

Haha. I went from Ken to Ryu to Alex to Q to Urien to Hugo to Yun.

Genei-Jin? Takes FOREVER to get used to.

Nice! I have like 2 of these laying around I think.

=======

Got owned up by the first decent El Fuerte I ever played today. So hard to get used to. I also got owned by the first decent Viper I've played, although that one was much closer.

I'm getting frustrated with 4 though, because although I've put much more time into learning Rufus than Sagat, I still play much better with Sagat. It's really frustrating. I haven't been able to get everything to completely click with Rufus yet for whatever reason.

Also temporarily taking a break from Boxer, trying to figure out if I should keep on pursuing that.
