Say wha? Explanation please? I'm Tekken illiterate.

Phrost, if that's true, that is weak as fuck.
Took the words out of my mouth. I wasn't there, I'm sure PhrostByte can confirm or deny that statement posted, but that is completely fucking weak.

It's obvious I'm not your biggest fan here in FGT, but if that shit is true.....way to burn bridges around your local scenes. Not that you obviously care but that gets absolutely no respect from me if it is.

ok seriously, fuck zangief.

what kind of retard designer thought

"hey, zangief sucks! let's make his lariat hit crouching characters who attempt a move! and let's give it mid invincibility too! and then let's give him a combo that does 20% damage AND force a 50-50, relatively safe mindgame of 360 or lariat!"

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....

360 just redringed -_-

and my brothers murdered itself last month too.

gaaaarrrrgh
Who's hype for some Blazblue? KOFXII? Anybody get KOF 98 Ultimate?
BlazeBlue and KoFXII! Yay! ... Kind of hard to get hyped since they're so far away and we don't know much.

At least you have the warranty. The 360 warranty was only 90 days from 2005 to most of 2006. Mine went tits up in the early time frame and they tried to give me the "It's your fault. Pay us 250 to repair it" bullshit.

I second this, I'd love to see Justin Wong's Rufus in action.

GGs refusedchaos, hope to play again

any tips on improving?

i feel like i plateaued cause im not trying new stuff!

heres a few questions i have for you folks who have been playing SF games for a while
1) how did u practice throws/grabs? i donno how to time it or practice it
2) is there a better way to practice execution other then just doing the same move 100 times in a row?
3) what is your mind set as the game starts? i kinda just turtle when it starts then start the offense.
You are a brave man.
if you see it with people who enjoy bad movies and make wisecracking jokes every second, it is friggin hilarious

also
chris klein is the worst actor ever.

i don't know who you play as so here's general advice.

1: work on guaranteed damage
-say your opponent whiffs. you need to know how to deal the most damage. not only that, but observe the situation after you finish your combo and make sure you know your options from there, what kind of wakeups, frames, and have the blueprint in your head. i'm watching my brother play and that's the only thing holding him back, every time he has guaranteed damage he doesn't maximize it. if you can do more damage with a super than a regular combo, then do it. etc.

2: conversely, DON'T WHIFF
-it's the worst thing you can do. seriously. i mean you can whiff some attacks at mid-range if it's unpunishable, but you never want to miss a shoryuken or anything. easier said than done though. you can usually tell how good someone is based on how they use their super and ultra. if they do it randomly then they suck... so work on setting it up and using it properly.

3: wake-up games
-a lot of my damage is dealt on the wakeup. you need to know all your options. and even then, remember that more options aren't necessarily better. if you have 2 really good options you can just use those, and then maybe bring in a 3rd every once in a while. get in your opponents head.

in response to your questions:
1- certain situations you just get used to it. empty jump --> grab. tick throw --> grab. force a whiff, grab. fairly simple.
2- nope. there's a anecdote about a guy who used to practice judo. he'd complain that he had to practice a basic move 50 times before real practice began. then he realized that that situation will probably come up 10,000 times. so practice up, practice in games.
3- since i mostly play sakura, i try to poke and force them into a mistake, then i can open up the wakeup games and force pressure.

3) what is your mind set as the game starts? i kinda just turtle when it starts then start the offense.
u use Blanka rite??

like kain in the brain said, practice punishing whiffs. since Blanka needs charge to do all his moves, throwing is a great way to punish whiffs, I go it all the time unless I got charge/super/ultra. Otherwise I go for crouching fierce (not the slide), crouching roundhouse, or standing forward.

other throw setups are doing a Blanka ball that stops rite before your oppoenent and throwing them, crossing up with jumping forward into a block string or combo into a throw, or focus attack-dash cancel into throw or focus charge-dash cancel into throw.

also the best way to practice execution is practice mode. Jus keep doing and doing until you get it down, then once u got it down u gotta practice in actual matches

damn! I'd violate her rose... :bouncy:

heads up: green screen filming begins tomorrow. pics of the costumes tomorrow as well (also expect un-intentional detail on the crotch... it's a really tight wearing costume >_< )

If I get a chance I'll also be posting the near complete versions of the Blueswim and Mr.Beef/Jimbo Slice commercials.

Phrost, if that's true, that is weak as fuck.
Partially true. The guy was a dick and showed up 45 minutes after registration. The bracket was already made. They had a vote. Him and another guy that were late voted to allow themselves in. Me and another guy voted to not let them in. I didn't even bother responding to all the bullshit on SRK because I figured no one would get it. See, I don't understand why someone who shows up late for something expects special consideration. When I care about something, I show up on time. Maybe it's just me.. but I just don't feel like it's right to feel like you deserve something for some unknown reason. I don't blame him for trying to get in after everything was set up, I would have done the same thing if I was in that situation, except I wouldn't be in that situation, since I wouldn't be late. And just like I don't blame him for trying to get in, he shouldn't blame me for not wanting people who showed up late in the tournament. It's not fair to everyone else. I know everyone thinks I'm an asshole for doing what I did, but I don't really care. I still feel as if I did the right thing. See, it's my opinion that most of the other entrants also didn't want those two late-show-up-shit-talkers in the tournament, but didn't bother voting cuz they didn't want to seem like dicks. That wasn't even a concern for me. I stand up for what I think is right.

Oh yeah.. also forgot to mention that neither of the two late guys were actually supposed to be in the tournament. They lost at Round 2 but got entry tickets from their friends who couldn't go.. but hey, I'm still an asshole for standing by my beliefs right?

One more thing, is there a tier list for Tekken 6: BR yet? I couldn't find one online.

There was one in Tougeki Damashi Vol. 12 from a month ago...

S: Steve
A: Lars, Lili, Lee, Law
B: Asuka, Armor King, Eddy, Ganryu, Xiaoyu, Julia, Jin, Devil Jin, Hwoarang, Feng Wei, Bryan, Bruce, Heihachi, Baek, Marduk, Roger Jr.
C: Anna, Alisa, Kazuya, King, Kuma/Panda, Christie, Jack-6, Dragunov, Nina, Paul, Bob, Lei, Leo, Wang
D: Zafina, Miguel, Yoshimitsu, Raven

The more current one is a bit different though... But it's pretty much the same.

Steve is still the best??? WTF I hate Steve. Looks like Jin moved up slightly which is cool. Guess I'll be maining Jin again since he's not horrible anymore. Also be giving all the new guys a try... I wonder if online T6 will be all Jins just like online SFIV was all Kens...

This. The review I got published originally said he should be banned from acting. They had to tone it down though :)

Hey MM, want to explain the Tier system?
Jack-6 being a C is :(.....I think.

One thing to consider, T6BR is pretty balanced... almost as well balanced as DR (some people say more)...

There is no S+ or SS rank, so one character won't completely kill another lol.
Confirmed: There will be additional characters for KOFXII console release.

I hope Billy or Geese make the cut
Wait, what, seriously? Anyone confirmed yet?

you know what else pisses me off?

bison's headstomp hitting air-to-air.
wtf is that?
is he stepping on your toes or some crap? WHILE JUMPING? that's the most absurd thing i've ever seen. AND it has priority?

"i know you want to kick me but i'm gonna give you the worst stubbed toe you've ever seen."

it is freakin ridiculous.

I love it, headstomp pretty much rules the air, I do it all the time. Especially people that like to jump in at the start, I just throw it out and they'll get hit at least twice before they wise up.

All you gotta do to punish it is walk backwards. And some anti airs can trade or out right beat it.

I'm just referring to people who like to keep jumping in the air, no AA's or anything.

The one thing that annoys me is that I rarely ever get Hell Attack to connect, it tends to get beat out by anything and only works if someone wiffs, which is unlikely unless they follow Ken's flowchart.

Geese most def. I want Tizoc back too.

Against most people online, the head stomp's really all you need. I pray they end up spamming the fireball attacks (hadouken, tiger shot, etc.) now. If they learn to use their AA attacks, then I just use dictator's devil reverse to either avoid it or punish it. Depends on the situation.
