Seriously?

SO happy that people can't gameshare?

There were Sorny fanboys on NeoGAF equating gamesharing with piracy!

Because my precious sorny isn't making enough money

Right, it's not because the developers are getting fucked.
Right, it's not because the developers are getting fucked.
This is my only concern. Especially considering that PSN enables such freedom for independent studios to get their game on there, even without the help of a publisher. With reduced fees, free middleware, and less content restrictions.

That's why you saw games from one guy (J. Mak with Everyday Shooter) and the first self published game on a console download service (Novastrike I think) and weird tech demonstrations like Linger in Shadows and .detuned.

Anyway, I hope people keep buying the games they love, and supporting the industry they love.

Game is ridiculous. :)
It's good times, best line in a video game ever (don't click on spoiler till you've finished the hospital level)

I ain't putting my hands in that, no finger fucking way!!

BTW, check out the 6 figure symmetry, that's gamerscore control people !!

One of the last lines in Uncharted 2's ending is one of the best lines ever.

Then what's a 10?
Clowns.

As someone who has a mild case of Coulrophobia, I can totally relate to Drake.

Wow, WTF Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

That was literally the first time I didn't realize I was at the end of a game until the credits started to roll.

Yeah I was really disappointed with MUA2. I absolutely loved the first one, but the second one just seemed to be lacking the charm the first one had. Maybe I'll go back and give it a second chance one of these days.

Budgeting money sucks. I can't afford to go nuts at the b2g1, meaning I've only got around $50ish to spend which really sucks because I was hoping to catch up on a lot of shit I missed. Here's what I've narrowed down to:

Valkyria Chronicles
Dead Space
Street Fighter 4
BlazBlue
Uncharted

I'm thinking VC, SFIV, and Uncharted. What do you guys think? I know there's some BlazBlue hate, but goddamnit the art style alone makes it worth the purchase for me.

Blazblue single player is better than SFIV's, so if you think thats what youll be doing more I think it would be the better purchase. Otherwise your choices are fine.

Wait on SF4 until SSF4. Get Dead Space and 2 from Uncharted/VC/Blazblue.

I've been playing Resident Evil 2 on my PSP from the PSN and it's the first time I've played through the game since it came out over 10 years ago, and it's still just as good as I remember it. Really, really enjoying the play through.

Blazblue vs SFIV argument

Here's the deal on this now. SFA3 is my favorite SF game so far and that's been my fighter of choice since 2005 (when I discovered it and moved on from SFII). I've been holding off on SFIV for no good reason, then I recently discover Blazblue and I'm completely enthralled with it's art style and how fluid it looks. But I got no idea where I'm gonna go from there. I hope it will just come down to not being able to find one of the two. Then again, Christmas is around the corner and I can throw the one I don't get on my wish list. Maybe Santa will bring me the collectors edition of BB. But what I need to know is what makes BB > SFIV or what makes SFIV > BB.

Otherwise I'm sold on Uncharted and Valkyria Chronicles.

True Ahadi. Nether fighter is better than the other. Blazblue flows in line with Guilty Gear being very fast paced and combo heavy. There are a lot of little techs in BB that put people off because it is very easy for new players to just get crushed if they are not willing or able to put the time into the game.

SFIV in itself is a great fighter, and much easier for players to get into. On top of being a name people grew up with it has pretty solid mechanics. It really comes down to what type of fighter you like more. I would say SF is a safer choice if you never played GG or any other fast paced fighter. Though if you want something new, or Turbo II was always your choice of speed, and you like a deeper combat system than BB may be right for you.

You should ask more though in the FGT, that way you can get more well rounded answers on both, other than random dip shits spouting their own personal fandoms.

Regardless of preference, he'd be stupid to spend 20-30 on SF4 now instead of waiting and putting it towards SSF4, if that's the series he's interested in.

And regarding the bold italics, what the fuck crawled up your ass and died?

This is actually a really good point. Hell, I've waited this long, what's another few months :whistle2:k And as it is, SFA3 is tried and true. Blazblue is "out of the comfort zone" and something new and potentially exciting.

The question is thrown in the FGT as well. I'm really curious to see where this goes.

Rei just loves BB. Both SFIV and BB are good, but very different in flavor.

SFIV = Chess
BB = Trouble

trouble.jpg

Both fun and good but yeah... expect very different flavors in both.

and no, getting SFIV now is not stupid even with SSFIV coming out because he'll be a better fighter (if that's the wish) when SSFIV comes out, and also it unlocks some exclusive stuff.

Ughh... my TV's ghetto. 15:9 ratio instead of 16:9.

Wonder if army apartments allows for personal TVs, could use another excuse to get a glossy one. If only I got a netbook and save $300 for that TV, PC gaming is dead to me.

Ordered 2 copies of L4D2 for cheap at BB.com
Had some reward zone certs too, had no idea.

Gonna give one to a buddy.
Been a while since I've used my 360, got my 12 month live card ready too.

I heard L4D2 is really hard, which makes it not fun.

I had to delete ALL my 360 games off my HDD because my system got a RRoD. They're basically worthless on my brother's new system (WHY? I have the disc and the HDD, why the hell do installs have to be DRM'd as well?). So that's a bummer.

I also ordered a 360 TE stick (for those keeping track on this, I'm only getting 1 stick) off of Amazon. So basically unless NSMBW goes up for sale I'm done with shopping for the year until Spirit Tracks comes out.

Wooo, finished AC2. Definitely in my favorite games of all time. I can't believe how much they improved the sequel. It makes the first one seem even more dull.

Picked up Dragon Age, L4D2, Spyro, Dead Space Extraction, Hasbro Family game night and Tekken Dark Resurrection in the last couple of days.

Think I'll get Prototype, CoD:WaW and Mini Ninjas in the GS B2G1F.

Time for some more AC2 today I think.

If he's made of money (he's obviously not) and/or has no problem with buying a game where most of the online community will migrate to SSF4 when it's released, then sure, buy SF4 now.

And I think you got that backwards. SF4= Sorry/Trouble, BB=Chess. (Which one is less popular and more complicated, eh? Think about it. ;) )

Nice, ordered Fallout 3 online from BB, thus negating any need to go to BB tomorrow, or anywhere else tomorrow as I think I've nailed everything online.

Yup did all my BF shopping this morning.
Amazon -
Ipod Nano 8GB(birthday present for girlfriend)
Blu Ray-
The Departed
Dark Knight
Dark City
360-
Dragon Age(Christmas present for roommate)

Best Buy-
Pikmin NPC Wii
Assassin's Creed PC
Far Cry 2 PC

All I need, I think.

The rumor is that the 360 version was ported by an EA studio and they messed with the AI director - where in the PC version you'll get a steady stream of special infected that are hectic and surprising, but manageable, the 360 version seems to like throwing them at you in groups of 2 or 3 that make it much more difficult and frustrating. I've had no problems with the PC version on advanced, but everyone's saying the 360 one is near impossible on advanced upwards and it just fucks you over regularly. Hope that they patch it soon.

Also - blazblu sucks. It's awful. Awful characters, awful art style, awful music, awful gameplay systems. I hate that game.

Much like persona and NIS and atlus and all that bullshit that people like because liking it makes them totally different and cooler than the nerds who like the other, slightly less obscure thing.

well, we've been friends for like 7 years and I'm in his wedding, so yeah

Are your roommates like random dudes that jizz in your shampoo when you're not looking or something?

Made more sense to get an apt with friends, I say.

But then, anything I do would be "weird" to you, right, mang?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Currently jogging/running through downtown Dallas with 40,000 other people.
Some loft people are blasting Lady Gaga for us...

And I suppose you like SF4's art "style"?

Opinion invalidated. :p

If street fighter 4 had stayed in the 2D hand drawn sprites and not added the ultras, it might've been better than blazblue. But the fact that everyone seems to be constipated and on steroids... not so much.
Blazblue just looks so much better.

Happy Turkey Day everyone.

Today is going to be spent with the GF's family, play some RE2, and go watch some college football this evening.

I actually like lady gaga - so rei and I are not complete opposites..

Exactly. Not even mentioning the better gameplay, SF4 just looks like shit.

Well I'll be damned...

Happy Thanksgiving all!

I've been playing Wanted: Weapons of Fate and I'm shocked to say it isn't a totally bad game. Not that good, but not horrible. I'm a big fan of the comic, though, so I'm probably just a teeensy bit biased.

I finished it yesterday, and other then the airplane level, it had to be the worst gaming experience ive had this gen, hands down. I am playing Grins other disaster, Terminator Salvation, and its bad but not Wanted bad. Wanted takes bad to the next level, beats it up, puts teriyaki sauce on it, and then makes beef jerky out of it. SO HORRIBLE.

Worse of this gen? Have you played Bullet Witch? That is single handedly my worst gaming experience this gen. That game is craaaaap.

I haven't tried out Terminator yet, but I'm actually glad I didn't pick it up yesterday.

And yeah, it's actually not as good as I thought.. I just spent a little more time with it and I guess I just thought it was good in the heat of the moment last night. It's lost it's sheen today. I got it for free, though.. so I don't have a problem with it :D

Curving bullets is really fun.
I would just like to say: DarkNessBear, your post history shows a beautiful and hilarious transformation over the last few days.
Hahaha, yea isn't it amazing? It was like watching an ugly caterpillar turning into a lovely butterfly. It made for a good ride - utter disgust to sheer amazement. Switching to the 360 version also helped ;)
