JS, you are actually playing Fallout 3 on PS3? Is it as bad as everyone says it is. I'd prefer to play it on console rather than my PC but I've heard the PS3 version isn't very good at all. I don't remember the specifics but would love some opinions if you've been playing the PS3 version.

Good to hear (see?) from you Gwen
Not as bad as what happened to me with Lunar.

For those that don't remember, before the game came out Working Designs released a demo for the game. The "neat" thing about the demo was you could save the game and continue on when the full game came out. In the game the main character starts off with a whistle in his inventory. Since each character's inventory is limited, I gave the whistle to another character to hold. So I saved at the end of the demo, and all was well. I eventually get the full game, beat the final boss, and at this point I'm required to play the whistle to end the game. Unfortunately in the full version you're not allowed to give the whistle to anyone else, so I could not get the whistle back to the main character. I had to start the entire game over. I cried...
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. :(

Doesn't look that different than the first to me. Also, in those stills, the hair looks horrible. And the new chick is cliche/terrible as well.

if you have a PC that can run it, go for that. no hope of getting non-vats, long range shots off with analog sticks.

It's much improved. And the pics have almost perfect AA which is hard to believe. I'm sure there will be a little in the final version, though the first one had pretty good AA.

She's Australian I think.
I want Elena back though. :(

Dang I want this! The only game the original Katamari Damacy guy has done since the first one.
I really thought it was gonna be 2D only because of the TGS trailer and not 3D like the old concept stuff.

But gaming on a 50" TV on my comfy leather couch>>>>than gaming on my 17" monitor in my semi-comfy leather office chair after sitting at a PC at work all fucking day.

So to each their own. :D
yes, precisely. point and click headshots > lag and freeze friend messages
Good thing I have it on 360! I'm a beast with that hunting rifle. :]

The only weird thing I've run into was headshots in VATS that cause the enemy to fly 300 feet away and I never find their body. :(

apossum comes in to explain how you can connect your PC to your TV in 3..2..1
apossum comes in to explain how you can connect your PC to your TV in 3..2..1
you connect the hdmi cable to the HDMI out on your video card and attach the other end to the HDMI in on your TV. Connect the audio cable to the audio out on your mobo/soundcard, then the red and white cables to the audio in on your tv. then walk over to your big comfy couch with your wireless mouse and keyboard and start playing.

And I say again how I'd never put a PC in the living room. :D Sticks out (I'm a neat freak) and too nerdy. And that I hate keyboard/mouse controls (well just the keyboard part). And that I hate screwing with settings to get it to run right. And that I hate upgrading PCs vs. buying a new console. etc. etc.

Again to each their own. PC gaming has never been, and never will be, my cup of tea. I just hate computers in general.

When I move this summer I'm ditching my desktop and from there forward will be work laptop only (get a new PC for my office and a new laptop with my new job) since I do nothing on my PC at home but work stuff, internet and e-mail anyway.

Girlfriends are expendable apparently. :p

Seriously, I kind of figured they'd give Drake a new female companion for the sequel. I'm not sure if I disagree since it kind of follows that whole generic "male-protagonist-in-a-serial-adventure" theme.

Then again, if they make Uncharted 3 or 4, they might take the cliche full circle and make Drake marry Elena in the finale. :p

what does any of this have to do with anything

Do I buy a lap table for the k/m?

I just put mine in my lap and the material on my chaise lounge works fine for mouse tracking. ymmv

Just reasons why I prefer to play games on consoles over PCs regardless of the benefits of the PC versions along with the reason why I'd never have a PC in my living room hooked up to my home theater.

The PC version will never play differently enough, or have enough additional content, to outweigh the reasons I hate gaming on a PC to lead me to get a gaming PC and start playing PC versions of games.

And I still don't get the changing goal posts crap.
I don't know why...I was just making a recommendation about which version to buy. wasn't holding a gun to anyone's head
Oh, I didn't think you were. I was just adding my two cents on why I always prefer the console versions despite any gameplay shortcomings. :D It's just a different strokes for different folks things. The benefits don't matter if you just hate gaming on a PC period.

NXE talk:

I wonder why there's an eject option when there's no game in the drive, but not when there is one.

Also, I think the NXE added easier support for wireless ethernet adapters.
I gave one I wasn't using to my cousin for his 360 and the system knew what it was and I set it up with the 360 instead of my PC. It knew it was a wireless.
I REALLY liked that. Made it that much easier.

When I had tried to use that adapter on the 360 pre-NXE it would never work and would act as it it were a regular wired connection.

Yeah, it's not a big deal.

I do use the eject button all the time on my Blu Ray player (and the DVD player before). I always hit the "watch DVD" function on my harmony remote then hit eject so it's open and waiting when I walk over to put the disc in. And hit eject on the remote before getting up to take it out. But in the grand scheme it probably saves a total of five seconds so no big deal.

With the 360 I wasn't even aware their was an eject button, so that's never bothered me.
Maybe, it's really not that big of a deal.

If you're getting up to switch discs, why can't you press the eject button?
Seconded.

Hit the damn eject button. Change your discs. Sit down. :)

Hey, it's not just me that likes remote eject options for all disc based machines.

I know it isn't a huge deal. Just a neat option.

I have a remote eject option:
Hmm. When I get my Harmony, I guess I will too then.
Sweet. Forgot about the remote controls.
Yeah, I have the 360 Harmony Remote and never thought to dig through the options and see if there was an eject option in there. I just flipped through the options in the LCD screen on the remote and it's not there, I'll have to hook it up to the software on the PC sometime and see if there's an eject option I can add in there as not all the options show up in the LCD screen pages by default.

Though I would think on the 360 version of the Harmony, it'd be a button on the unit itself.

Nope, that remote has no hard eject button. It has four buttons by the lcd screen (and you can set up pages of commands for those to scroll through) so I just have one of those on the 1st screen set to eject for my Blu Ray player (see buttons on left and right of LCD in picture below). I will have to check and see if there's an option for the 360--I'm sure their probably is.

Another notable omission is there are no hard page up, page down buttons, so I have two of the lcd buttons on the first page of the screen set to those for my HD cable box.

But that stuff never bothered me since the LCD buttons are great, and every single button on the remote is customizable for every device/activity so it's easy enough to add in whatever there's not a dedicated button for.

That looks so awesome. I didn't know the Katamari guy was making a new game. Wish I had a PS3.

My friend let me borrow Fallout 3.

It has taken over my life.

Having finally played all the games, I can agree.

First two I like the most.

Noby Noby is looking good though. Another chill out game.

yeah, I skipped the 360 one... I listened to the soundtrack before considering buying it and I was like "Wtf is this crap? It's gone to turd-lake!"

makler: go to menu -> personal -> inventory

Cool. Do you remember off hand what other stuff is in there?

I really like Home. I've had a lot of fun in it so far. Especially playing pool. However, I hope that the final version has a lot more things to do / places to go. And avatar/apartment customization options of course.

Katamari Damacy > Beautiful Katamari > We I Love Katamari > Me and My Katamari
I Love Katamari , which one was that? I thought there was only 4 katamari games?

I Love Katamari was just released for the iPhone in the app store.

It's pretty good (nice soundtrack, rolento!), but I'm not a fan of motion controls, but it's a nice distraction and definitely controls better than the PSP version.
