C. Viper > Chun Li

Her art style is seriously above and beyond any of that shit from the 80's/90's.
Are you talking about character design?
I don't like how the art is obscured more on the 360 box and the discs.
Should have had Chun Li.
It's only really different on the collector box and 2/3 discs... should've known you'd be the one to bitch about it. You'll be buying it PS3 anyhow, so what do you care? :p ;)

Yes.

If I get it. Haven't decided.
Wish an arcade had it around me.

Wish there were arcades around me.

I should hope so.
The statement doesn't seem like a broad generalization for the entire game, only C. Viper.

I do like C. Viper's design too.

Love lesbian fighters in skinny suits.

Frosty: I was confused by "art style".
Just an odd juxtaposition.

Most definetly getting that Collectors Edition. Super Turbo has re-increased my frothing demand for Street Fighter.

I do wish it was chun li on the cover still. She's my favorite! She deserves at least as much attention as Ryu and Ken do.

Crimson Viper is just Angelina Jolie cosplaying as Travis Touchdown.
I haven't played one, but I'd say GH2->Aero->3.

Actually, just fuck the other two and play GH2. It's infinitely better.
Yes. But if you're going to do that, just suck it up and play RB. :p But seriously, GH2 > GH3... let's not even mention GH:A, since it's GH3 with a different soundtrack... to me, GH > GH2, because GH2 had a steeper jump from medium to hard... GH had a steep jump from easy to medium and medium to hard -- but GH2 on hard was the start of the insane that created GH3. GH also had a better tracklist and didn't allow such easy HOPO stuff...
Fallout 3 is a total blast. Blowing heads off without even thinking about it is too fun. :)
Yes. This is what made it enjoyable for me. Using VATS on my escape and having some people lose their heads pulled me in... but once I hit the level cap, the VATS didn't satisfy anymore... the slomo gets really fucking annoying too.

You have SSFIITHDR don't you? Watch some videos, then mostly imagine playing SSFIITHDR. 14 of the characters are basically SSFIITHDR imports.
I do read it's a departure from III's style and more "classic".

I do really like the graphics. ;) So there's always that.
I'll admit, that in motion, the graphics are tolerable, maybe even good. But the still frames look like someone thought it would be a bright idea to stylize the game like Face Breaker on the Dreamcast.

I'll take hand drawn over it any day.

Vanessa isn't a lesbian. In fact she learned her fighting style from her husband.
SFIV CE PS3 for me. I wanted to get the PC version, but it's not out until June 2nd. I'll just double dip.
Damnit. where'd you hear that bit on the PC version?

I dunno what I'll do... probably double dip as well, and just hope to recoup as much as possible when the PC version does come out.

Sigh... it'll probably be the same shit for RE5, too...

well I can at least wait with that one.

I mentioned Aerosmith mainly cause I heard it was fairly easy. I asked my brother (whose much better at these games than I) whether I should play Aerosmith before 2 or 3 since then it would be like starting easier and getting harder , but he still suggested to at least work through 2 first then do Aero , then go to 3. Had no comments on the PS2 ones since he never played them.

Gamestop's site moved the date from the same as the consoles to June 2nd.
Why SFIV on the PC? Mods? :whistle2:s
It'll probably be the best version, like DMC4. It's only 40 bucks. And I'll be running that shit in 1080p someday on my TV. It's GFW, so hopefully it'll have cross platform play like Lost Planet Colonies.

GH:A is supposed to be somewhat easier than GH3, but it's more like GH3 than GH2. GH2, I've played on both 360 and PS2 -- it's the best of the 3 you mentioned, easily.
Vanessa isn't a lesbian. In fact she learned her fighting style from her husband.
It was a flippant remark.
I know nothing of her, she only reminded me of King from Art of Fighting for a second.

Jekki, this is probably none of my business, but

who were those panties for in the GAF pick up thread?

I'm going to listen to podcasts now and hide..

Dark Sector is really fun so far. I am glad I went with if over some of the other games I considered (dw5 empires, condemned 2, and dead rising). I might go back tommorow for xenosaga and viewtiful joe 2, 5 bucks is hard to pass up.

So for straight difficulty curve purposes , following the series in order basically is the way to go , except maybe subbing in Aerosmith before 3?

1->2->Rocks the 80s->Aerosmith->3

Like that?

avoid xenosaga if you can..
avoid xenosaga if you can..
3 makes up for 1 and 2, but its still fairly forgettable once you finish it.

If you want ps2 rpg hotness, I suggest Shadow Hearts: Covenant.

I dunno about rocks the 80s.

GH1 and GH2 are very similar. But the window for HOPOs is more generous in GH2 so a lot of it, to me, doesn't feel like I'm "rocking out" or something...

As far as 1, 2, and 3 go, 3 is probably the most difficult. The jump from medium to hard in GH2 is like the jump from easy to medium in GH. When chika and I first started playing, easy was mostly easy, medium got hard about halfway through and hard was medium with the occasional orange note. I've not tried GH3 on medium... I played through on easy for the cheese first. But I did try the Halo 3 theme on medium and it kicked my ass. And I normally can play on medium with no problem.

I definitely got stuck at some point on hard on GH... but after playing enough GH2, I was able to go back and almost complete GH on hard. GH2 murders me on hard at about set six or seven. Not sure how far I could get on hard in GH3, but your general order ir probably about right... though it might be 2 -> 1 -> Rt80s -> A -> 3.

You're a braver man than I if you make it to the end of this.

Sounds good , thanks. BTW , where exactly would Rock Band/Rock Band 2 fall between those?

I play expert, and imothat is where you realy see the quality gap between 2 and 3. The second Is just way more fun thAn the third on the high levels because you really feel like you are playing the song and not just wildly flailing The buttons.

The easy songs in RB1 and two fall in the GH2 range, but the hardest songs in the Rock Band series are damned hard. Think the last set of GH3, except imagine theres another set above that, and you have Rock Band.

Put another 3 or 4 hours into Oblivion. Finished the Fighter's Guild quests. Spent a long while trying to clear out random quests from my log--got all those done except for one Daedric Shrine quest where I need to level up my mysticism a good bit to cast a spell to make Black Stone.

Then got into the thieves guild and saved before getting into those quests. Guess now I'll try to finish those off, and then deal with the Arena, Mage's Guild and maybe all the Daedric Shrine quests before going on to the expansions.

Great game. Definitely need a guide (or gamefaqs and googling some maps in my case) to figure out a few quests here and there that don't give you much to go on though.

Dark Brotherhood was tight. There was a thieves guild quest that pissed me off to no end though... that was probably the last one. The mage guild ones sucked.... fetch quest BS. I think the only ones I might've skipped were the fighter's guild. I did a large majority of the daedric shrine quests and knights of the nine.

As an alternative to that awful video I posted before. This is pure joy. But it's in my blog instead. Go give me hits. okayy?

Reminds me so much of when I used to work the arcade my family owned when I was a teenager. Hitting the circuit breakers to flip on all the machines and hearing them run through their startup sequences and attract modes is such an incredibly happy/nerdy thing.

RIP Arcades.. we hardly knew you.

My family owned an arcade for a short time... it was about the only small-business venture we ever tried. Unfortunately, the money wasn't there in the small town and we had to close down... I had a helluva good time there though, as I was able to play a lot of free shit on the jukebox and had my stepfather teaching me to shoot pool... I remember we had one of the thunderblade sitdown arcade machines too... that was fucking boss. And "house" tokens too... it was a shame we only had so many of them. 8\

Nice! My grandma had a restaurant for many years and expanded to a mini golf/driving range/arcade in the mid 90s.. right around the tail end of MK2 and SF2T being popular. We had some awesome machines in there for a few years.

I'm having trouble recalling -- I only remember thunderblade, the jukebox, and the pool table off the top of my head... it was probably about 1991 when we tried to do it. I would've killed to have a MK/MK2 machine or SF2T machine with house quarters. I used to show up 30 minutes before school in 7th and 8th grade when SF2 had become popular... I'd hold court for the 35 minutes before the bell rung in the little pizza place across the street from the school... usually only needed $.50 max. Those were the days. Now if only I could find a decent priced decent arcade stick so I could finish reliving my youth with SSFIITHDR....

Yeah, the Dark Brotherhood quests were a lot of fun. Most of the Fighter's Guild were as well. I'm worried the Thieve's Guild will get tedious as I imagine it's a lot of sneaking around etc.

unfortunately no house tokens.. our machines were all rented from a local vending operator.

I did blow $20 in one sitting on MK2 once, though. haha!

And I went to an arcade machine auction a few times. If you ever have the chance, go to one of those and bring your own extension cord. Free play all day on hundreds of machines if you can plug it in... amazing!

I ended up doing something wrong on the last mission, so something didn't trigger right and made it all fux up. I had to redo it like 4 times before I finally figured out what was going on and got it right.

Ours were like that too... a local vendor put all the stuff in our place and we took a portion of the profits and did the advertising and shiznot.

We were allowed to have like $20 in house tokens a month or something -- it was good for keeping an 11 year old distracted while running the place after school.

I'd probably blown through that much in one session of MK2 as well -- when it came out TimeOut used to give out gift books for arcade tokens... I used to get them in my stocking -- I blew threw many a five dollar book in one sitting thanks to MK2 or UMK3. Mostly MK2 though...

I happen to see Xplay and they featured Mad World which looked fucking awesome until I found out it's for the Wii only. EPIC FAIL

They also had FEAR 2, ohmyfuckinggod! Can't wait! Mechs! Coming in FEB! wow.
