The cell shading gave it away, but it continues to baffle me why they would put a non gay game on a gay system and not the systems that would make the best use of it... The other time I thought this was ManHunt 2. Then again, all those Wii owners are probably jealous so that's why.

Oh yeah, Yes... I'm being a troll.

NMH was also non-gay.

Made me actually use a Wii.

NMH is why I still own my Wii. Madworld and NMH2 are just more things to look forward to due to holding onto it. I do constantly question why I still have it, but I keep remind myself of the gems that slowly are out down the road.

on the note I really hope the Little King game is good.

Same here. It's so tempting to get rid of it especially during the holidays when I can get close to what I paid for it two years ago. But I told myself that I would not get rid of my systems ever again, because at some point I always want to re-buy it.

Selling a system IMO is pretty stupid, at least when the current console cycle is still going on.

Although I have put deep thought into selling my PSP, despite me knowing I want Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, which I think is vaporware for now, despite gameplay footage, considering it doesn't have a time frame yet (Not even 2009)

i sold my launch psp 2 years ago for $100 and promptly got a ds lite
i havent looked back since
I'll admit, that in motion, the graphics are tolerable, maybe even good. But the still frames look like someone thought it would be a bright idea to stylize the game like Face Breaker on the Dreamcast.
You mean Ready 2 Rumble?

MGS4 progress: I'm in early Act 4.

The battle against Raging Raven was a little bit of a bitch, but more satisfying than Laughing Octopus because I always felt I was in danger instead of always feeling, "Where are you, bitch? Stop laughing."

The whole cutscene clusterfuck at the end of act 3 was actually pretty cool. Everyone from Liquid leaving Snake and Eva behind to the Holy Shit the System is His moment was really well done. Yay Kojima!

I pretty much wet myself when I got to replay the beginning of Shadow Moses Island MGS-style, complete with polygons and never-ending guards and security cams, oh my! And then going through the same area again MGS4-style was just as cool, hearing all of the voices/memories from MGS in the background.

I just blew up the GECKO using the MkIII to electrify his ass, btw. More progress today, hopefully.
C'mon, Breakdown has a huge following. Everyone's been waiting for another game like it. ...or not. Gad, that game was shameful. I seriously was ready to hurt people. I'm still bitter at Namco.
:hot:

But I love Breakdown.

if i ever get it wii, it would be for just NMH 1 & 2, Fatal Frame 4, Mad World, and the gundam games...but im 90% sure i wont get it since i dont want another gamecube in my room

Depends. I got rid of my Wii this spring and haven't missed it at all. Tired of Nintendo franchises, don't like Japanese games like NMH, don't like casual games, hated it not being HD, hated motion controls, hated the crappy online gaming set up and I don't have time to play all the 360 games I'd like to so no need for a second console period. :D

He was assuming that one liked videogames, and therefore it would be unwise to sell it.

I like video games. Doesn't mean I like the type of games on all systems or have the free time to keep up with good games on multiple systems.

The only people who need multiple consoles are the true hardcore gamers who have gaming as their favorite activity, have very broad gaming tastes, and are fortunate enough to have the free time to play a shit ton of games.

As a busy adult, with hobbies I enjoy more than gaming, and really only liking FPS and Western RPGs these days, I don't fit that bill. And thus selling the console was a wise move for me--especially given all my specific dislikes of it listed above.

Okay, MGS4 boss battles suck.

Laughing Octopus: Kill fodder, spend half the battle running around the area trying to find where she's hiding so I can blast her in the face while she annoyingly laughs in the background.

Raging Raven: Kill fodder, spend half the battle running up and down stairs/around in a circle waiting for her to sit still so I can blast her in the face while she annoying rages in the background.

Crying Wolf: Kill fodder, run around this huge-ass snowy area trying to find wherever the hell she is so I can shoot her in the face while she cries in the background. Then she pounces on me out of nowhere and I die.

So basically, each one amounts to me running around bored for 20 minutes just trying to find the boss and be able to hit it, hit it a couple of times, then get killed and swear because I wasted twenty minutes.

I'd rather temporarily own a console to play a handful of exclusives than have a wii or PS3 sitting around collecting dust for years, only to be turned on every once in a while. Find a cheap system on ebay so you can guarantee your money back and you're set.

also, I just noticed Izanagi's crotch cup looks like a vag tee hee

now that's unfair. tmk purposely opens himself to shit...why else would someone write a dissertation's worth of text whenever the quality of the PS3 comes into question? he likes being abused.
Why are you giving him shit, dallow?
Seriously. Everything he said is quite true and valid. I love video games, and probably play more games a day than most people here. That being said, I sold my Wii a couple weeks ago as well.

I just notice he's always mentioning how he sold his Wii and only needs one system, japanese games = suck, changing goalposts, etc etc.

It's obvious the Wii is the last thing he needed around. I'd have sold it if I were him as well. I wouldn't keep showboating it though.

If I didn't have a heart, I'd sell mine. Looks so helpless sitting there by itself.

Finished Fallout 3. Can't wait for the DLC now. Really good game, but I definitely liked Oblivion more.

Now to move onto the next game in my backlog. Which should I play next?

Valkyria Chronicles
Saints Row 2
Tomb Raider Underworld
Last Remnant

Ah whatever, sorry dmaul for 'giving you shit'.

There's just something about you that annoys me.
I'm sure I annoy more than my fair share of people on here.

dmaul does seem to pull out the "well I'm an adult with adult responsibilities so, being an adult, I don't have time for all this stuff and I can only play western games, which are much better than everything else, as long as i'm shooting something, so it holds my attention, because I don't have a lot of time like I used to when I was a kid, because I'm an adult now, with adult responsibilities, and adult things to do." card every time he posts..

I received Prince of Persia and Outrun for PC today. Gonna play them after I figure out how to install Outrun.

Prince of Persia's audio is fucked up, the music is loud and the voices are super quiet, but it seems fun.

That is kind of true, but then most of us have our quirks that we're known for.
Starknight:

GH 80's = GH2 difficulty wise.

It's the same gameplay
GH2 is much harder than GH80s. This is a fact.
He was assuming that one cared for more than just Western blockbusters.
And I was just saying that him stating as fact that it's a bad idea to sell a console in the middle of a generation isn't applicable to everyone. Not everyone needs multiple consoles and not all consoles appeal to everyone.

Just like I was pointing out to ninja dog the other day the PC version of games isn't a superior experience for everyone as some people just hate computers and gaming on them.

People talk in absolutes rather than opinions too much on here.
Ah whatever, sorry dmaul for 'giving you shit'.

No worries. And it's mutual. I'm not a fan of the hardcore gamer crowd in general so more people on here annoy me than not. But it's fun annoying them back when stuck in the office (especially on a Saturday) so it's all good. :D Also just a consequence of being older than most of the CAG regulars I guess.
That is kind of true, but then most of us have our quirks that we're known for.
Indeed. I just very much have a love/hate relationship with gaming. I enjoy playing, but feel guility playing as I should be spending more time finishing up my dissertation and working on scholarly publications to start building up my CV for tenure. As well as often wanting to spend more time watch movies, doing outdoors stuff etc.

Especially in a week like this were I've probably dumped 25 hours or so into Oblivion--and thus I'm stuck in the office on a Saturday trying to finish up some stuff I should have gotten done a couple days ago. Oh well, just finished and off to a holiday party at a friends now.

Breakdown was well worth the $6 I paid for it. I want a sequel.

Fallout 3 is too fun Sawed off shotgun to the back of a dude's head with VATS? Just awesome. I'm pure evil and just killing anyone I want. I blew up some bums with a grenade too. :)

We all ave our little quirks. That's what makes a person unique. If everyone was the same, life would be so fucking boring.

I think I might retract my "lame MGS4 bosses" post, because
Vamp and Metal Gear Ray were pretty awesome.

Just finished Act 4; 5 is installing right now. So
Vamp, Naomi, and Raiden all getting (apparently) killed off within a few cutscenes of each other surprised me a little. And in the case of Raiden (if he's actually dead, which, hey, seems like it with the heartstring-tugging voiceover flashbacK), he seemed pretty underused in the game--shows up, gets cut up by Vamp, spends the next act and a half recovering in the Nomad and chilling with Sunny, then shows up to kill Vamp and preform a heroic sacrifice. Kinda lame after they went to such great lengths to turn him into Super Robot Ninja Badass Guy. If anyone watches Lost, it reminded me of
Michael's return and death in season 4; spends the whole time not doing much until it's Heroic Sacrifice Time.

Aww, Naomi died. Sad Otacon was sad.

And woah, the Metal Gear-on-Metal Gear action was badass, even if it was possibly the easiest boss fight so far.

So, Act 5. Here we go.

Still haven't started Act 5. Gonna take a break and get some Subway. Eat fresh?

So far, cutscenes really haven't bothered me with their length. Except the mission briefings.

I think I burned myself out on RPGs again. I haven't been in the mood to play Valkyria Chronicles or Persona 4 for a while. I think I'm just going to take a break from the genre and play some other games for a while.

...

And a machine to play it on.
Watched the trailer. That was actually pretty EPIC looking too. Again, becomes an EPIC FAIL.

Gay american dub FTL too...
I think the American dub is the only dub. So it's also the Japanese dub.

Now that you mention it, that is pretty common. Comes off as a bit condescending after a while.
