Cleaner, sleeker look my ass... they just can't get it to run properly without making some graphical downgrades. Get this, the body parts disappear immediately now. I want body parts thrown at me! Oh well, if it improves the overall framerate and resolution then I guess it's ok.

The mag has a quote from Hayachi [sic] saying, "Violence is not going to be one of the key selling points of this title... It's not all about how bloody it is." Instead they're going for "a much cooler, cleaner, sleeker look". So you won't see great big spurts of blood, but clouds of gray sweat when enemies get dismembered.

NGS2 SNES port confirmed!
Sounds like NG Sigma is going to the Wiii too. "Clouds of gray sweat"? What's that all about?
You never played the censored version of Mortal Kombat?

And also, NG2 had blood covered walls and limbs all over the place. Looks like they're taking out that for Sigma 2. :(

I wonder what the second to last boss is gonna
vomit all over you now. Are they going to make him look like a chronic smoker?

I just want Metal Gear Acid 3... fuck the solid series.

in fact, what ever happened to the second Digital Graphic Novel? I love the original.
I hear it's getting a DVD release only which I hope not.

playing Phantasy Star Portable alot... at level 57 I think... my guy is a total badass human. I also started a Cast game.

Is this real?

PS3 for the loss.

Man I gotta pick up PSP for PSP! Soon...

Was this posted yet? I think the game did have to be tweaked to keep performance smooth for the co-op play. So bodies disappear faster and some limbs don't get hacked off...I'll just keep my 360 copy for that stuff, I guess. Multiplayer co-op will hopefully be worth it. Ah, who am I kidding, I'll still get it. :p

Anything interesting for Nintendo GDC so far?

I didn't want to drop $60 on a $20 360 game just to have it on the PS3.

Now I find out I get to pay three times as much for SNES MK1 style content?

yeah, NG2 Sigma needs more of this:

Well, to be fair, most of us here don't drop $60 on any game. I'm sure there'll be a reasonable sale on it.

I'm going to get it for the co-op and extra characters more than anything else. I agree it's a lot to ask of multi-console owners, though.

I thought the fighting action was the cool thing about NG.

I'll trade excessive gore for online co-op, but I'll also hold on to my 360 copy.
Perhaps being done as a push to get more sales in Japan as the Z-rated gore version did really badly over there.
Perhaps the American version will more violent.

I wish I was more excited about the SD card solution for Wii. I'm pretty over that system.

Wow coop and the ability to play as Ayane is cool. I hope the less gore is only the case in coop.

Hey, when is Microsofts and Sonys GDC Keynote? Are they having one?

Right...

It's all about immersion. Water reflections, son.
Funny pun? Or did I miss something?
An SD card. Just used to hard drives and massive storage space. 1gb reminds me of my Packard Bell from 1995.
Right...

The cartoony gore was actually kind of a turn off. Which is why I waited until until it was $10.

And like ninjadog and others have said, it came at a cost of framerate and resolution.
fucking glitchy water reflections. That still irks me.

32GB max SD card shit for the Wii now.

I'm going to get a 16GB card for my Mini 9, so I'll be set in the future.

 @ cartoony gore. You were fighting big, shiny purple monsters for 80% of the game.

There's still blood, just not over the top.

Did I buy NGII?
:checks list: Alright, I did.
Crap, I have like 6 sealed 360 games just waiting.... and I bought 3 games yesterday...
Oh, yeah, but the games are tiny as hell TFN.
And now you can use SDHC cards, so I'll probably get a 4gb card for it.
Ah, I see! Wonder how thats going to work out.

Yea, the extras are what's going to get me to buy it anyway. I still love the gameplay.

1. I'd rather have excessive gore than online co-op.
2. As far as I know, that's one of the reasons. Don't know how NG2 did over there though, never cared.
3. Doubt it, I think it's more about engine limitations than anything.

I was joking. If it has as much gore as the OG NG, then I'm good, IF it plays and runs better than NG2.

Plus, co-op dawg, every game needs co-op.

For the record, I dropped $60 on NG2.

NG2 sold piss poor in japan. So obviously they want to market this to a group of people who will actually purchase it. I loved sigma 1, so im looking forward to 2.

"This game we expected to sell really well in the East didn't sell very well at all."
"What systems was it released on?"
"Xbox 360."
"Hmm. 360 game didn't sell well in Japan? Must have been over the top gore."

"Hmm. 360 game didn't sell well in Japan? Must have been over the top gore."
High profile games can do relatively well there. It's not that dead.

The game's rating partly killed it. The Z rating it had is extremely rare. I think only MS has published Z rated games. (i think the rating is labeled Z anyway)

I don't get it. :p

I don't think Japan has that much problem with ultra violence. Plus, I don't think Tecmo was expecting the game to be big hit in Japan considering the 360 user base there is nowhere near as big as it is here.
For the record, I dropped $60 on NG2.
Totally worth it.
Sigma 2 is going to look like Naruto. Everything turning to clouds of smoke.
Quite possibly
So uh...does the normal version of NG2 have the Statue of Liberty as a boss?
No.
No.
I see what's going on here...is the story that
Japan is still mad at America over WW2, so they send Ninja's over to attack us. Ryu, being the lead terrorist of course. The Statue of Liberty however notices the plot and comes to life to defend our freedom and liberty against the terrorist plot?

Am I close?

Quick google search puts NG2 at 48K sold as of Jan 2009.
That makes it #25 best selling.

23 titles over 50K
11 titles over 75k
8 titles over 100k (including viva pinata, yay)

This is kinda interesting.

Very ... perhaps a little too close...:whistle2:k
Lemme try... (without cheating)

Lost Odyssey
The Last Remnant
Blue Dragon
Trusty Bell/Eternal Sonata
Those and the game I mentioned are the top 5 ;)
