Totally worth it.
It would've been, if it didn't drop like a rock. My friend picked it up for $10 bucks, and he played my copy more than I did.

I really should play it more, like right now, but I just got RE5 and I'll be playing the shit out of that with friends.
So, my bro just gave me his Gamecube. Gimme some recs for it. I have Sunshine and the Zelda collection so far.
Killer7, Wind Waker, Metroid Prime (assuming you aren't getting the remakes some day) 1 and 2, Pikmin 1 and/or 2 (same situation as the Metroids) and Skies of Arcadia. Maybe a Viewtiful Joe or two.

Also, Double Dash was my favourite Mario Kart, but I know I'm in the minority there.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II - Rogue Leader, Wave Race: Blue Storm & Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 are all GameCube must-play games.

Hmmm, I had a gamecube and never played a single one of those.

I are fail.
Tales of Symphonia, Ikaruga, RE4...I liked Mario Tennis and Golf...I'm sure there are more...
He can just play Ikaruga on XBLA. ;)

RE4 is a good call though... same with Twilight Princess -- unless he has a Wii, then he could have played them both there.

Chibi Robo was unique... not sure it's for everyone though -- I powered through just to finish it since I'd put enough time in it. The Metroids are good. Windwaker...
Yeah, Wind Waker for sure. It's the best Zelda.
Goddamn.

Those drugs must be good.

Worth playing, but not even close to the best.

TP or OOT for best 3D Zelda for sure.

Just something I guess. I played Ocarina of Time and it was something really different for it's time. Wind Waker I played when I got a GC and it was fun, since it didn't feel like I was re-playing OoT like I felt with TP.

TP I could only stand for a few hours before I ditched it. That one was just not fun.
Winder Waker is the best 3D Zelda.

LttP is the best Zelda.
Motherfucking this.

Majora's Mask was great too. It has some haters though.

My fave was LttP too. Twilight Princess was/is tiresome--I still haven't come anywhere close to finishing it...but I still have it. :p

The next Zelda is a DS game using the Phantom Hourglass engine. Hope it isn't repetitive like that one, though.
On the subject of Zeldas, where's the new one? Will it be a wagglefest full of mini games? I hope it has balance board support.
fuck you!
I loved Wind Waker until the Tri Force shard collectathon. I never got past that part.
I quit there too, but got a friend to do it for me :D

That game has a really great ending.

I need to go back and finish it. It's been nearly 3 years since I hit that point, so I probably wouldn't mind it as much. Don't own the game anymore though.

If you want different, MM is the way to go. The reason TP is listed with OOT for me is because it was like a next-gen remake/update to OOT.

WW was... alright. Wasn't the artstyle that doomed it. It's the vapid overworld that's just sailing and sailing and sailing and sailing. Combined with what, 3 mini dungeons and 2 real dungeons? If it had a couple more like the last 2, I could forgive the sailing.

I've played Majora's Mask...it was good.

And the sailing originally bothered me in WW, but I got over it. I love the art style too in that game. 10 years from now that game is still going to look great graphically, while all other games from that time will look horrible.

You definitely should. I can with 100% certainty say that the ending was worth all the effort my friend put into getting me there

I liked LTTP and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.

Link's Awakening was alright too.

EDIT: Who am I kidding, I like them all. Even Zelda's Adventure and Wand of Gamelon.

I actually never beat the orginal Zelda from start to finish.

My favorite is LttP too (beat that game a bunch of times) But Wind Waker & Twilight Princes are up their. I never got into the N64 ones. In OoT I got to the water temple, got stuck and quit.

the oddworld pack is finally back to normal price
though good thing i got it on monday when it was still $3.75 since im actually enjoying abe's oddysee

Just youtube it.

I don't remember it being that great, myself. Then again, I've not been happy with most game endings in years.

On Recommendations: Saw someone recommend Rogues Squadron 2 earlier - skip it and go with 3. 3's main game is inferior due to shitty-but-mercifully-easy on-foot sections, but it contains all of RS2 in co-op form, so hey, two for one.

On Zelda: Wind Waker > the rest (keeping in mind I haven't played a handheld Zelda since Link's Awakening DX). For me, at least. I never once had a problem with the sailing. I can see people not liking the triforce hunt, but it was pretty quick and painless. Coulda been harder, though.

Love the Zelda series, but like most Nintendo franchises I'm pretty burnt out on it after 25 years or so of playing it.

I'd rank the games approximately as follows:

Link to the Past
Ocarina of Time
Link's Awakening
Oracle of Ages/Seasons
Twilight Princess
Minish Cap
Majora's Mask
Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda
Phantom Hourglass
Zelda II: Adventure of ling.

Given my low ranking of Phantom Hourglass, there's little chance I'll pick up the new DS one. Hated the touch controls. Too few dungeons. Annoying as hell going through the Ocean King temple repeatedly, and I don't care much for cel shaded graphics.
Cobalt Blue/Black. It's a massive improvement over my launch DS lite.
Nice. That's probably the color I'll get when I finally get a new one. I was considering sending my broken one into Nintendo...but they wanted $75 to fix it. Then I wanted a DSi, but realized it would be a waste of money and a Lite is the way to go. Not sure what I'm waiting for as far as going out and buying it :p

I just went and traded my lite with the fucked button and some games in and ended up getting like 115 bucks for them.

I did the same with a DSi, it just wasn't worth losing the GBA slot AND paying an extra 40 bucks.
None of those are all that good, or at least are not games I'd recommend to a new GC owner.

You're not misisng out, Frosty.
How could they not be good for new Cube owners? They were launch titles. EVERYONE was a new Cube owner when they came out.;););)
