And you do any differently. All you ever do is get on your soap box and berate others here for their opinions/views for the most part. It's a web forum. Most everyone is here to spout off their own opinions. You're the last person that should be calling anyone pretentious or pompous.
I said I didn't purposely mean to make claims of superiority. Do I think Stone beer is more sophisticated than Pabst? Sure. Is a good, serious movie, or indie film or foreign film or documentary more sophisticated that Live Free or Die hard? Definitely. Is sushi more sophisiticated than McDonalds? Absolutely.
But there's no superiority there. Everyone should do what makes them happy as life is short and that's all that matters. And it would take a pretty foolish person to make claims of superiority based on their hobbies and tastes.
Yes I'd say the person that likes fine beer/wine, ethnic food and art flicks has more sophisticated/refined tastes that the person that drinks Bud Light, watches Rambo and who's idea of a great meal out is Applebees. But I wouldn't say the person is superior or make any other kind of value judgment.
Oh there's more to it than aging for sure. For me it was aging, education and moving from a rural area to the city and getting more exposure to culture.
Anyway, I'm tired of listening to all your bullshit sociological views on crap so I'm done reading and responding to your posts. Good luck on your job hunt. Spending less time pontificating on here and more time beefing up your CV would be a good start.
C'mon, don't get your feelings hurt because I like to see people use proper words to say what they actually mean. I dislike it when people say one thing with their use of language, get called out on it, and get crabby, defensive, and personal.
I'll buy you a beer at ASC in Philly. But it has to be a PBR.
