Yah, T.Hawk is gonna fail this one, I'm afraid. I'd rather just grab my old board and skate for real than shell out for the virtual one. After 20 years, I still can't ollie, so it's not like I'm gonna really learn how on a fake board now.
Wow. I have to give them props on the song choice. Love YYYs.

LOL @ skateboard controller. GTFO out of here Activision. Not everything is Guitar Hero.
but guitar hero prints money for them. so if they make everything ELSE guitar hero, those franchises will print more money too, right?

Next up, Call of Duty rifle controller.

Finished up the Resident Evil series on the Cube. Took me about three weeks to play thru RE 0-3 + CV, and I played thru RE4 a few weeks before that. I miss the classic RE. I guess I'll pick up RE5 sometime, but I'll wait for a price drop.

Moving on to the Metal Gear series now. Started Twin Snakes up. My last playthru of that was a little over a year ago according to the date on my last save. I still have never played thru MGS 2 or 3, so I'm looking forward to jumping into those afterwards.

Other than that, I'm still slowly grinding my way thru Nocturne.

I'm looking forward to this year's E3. I have high expectations, so I'm really looking forward to being disappointed.

That kind of whoring is what it takes these days. Activision-Blizzard is very nearly the only western company making money anymore. EA, Ubisoft, Take2, THQ, all posting massive losses.

And people are still pirating away.

I think the skateboard could do well if they just do what Nintendo did before the Wii came out. Make an appearance on every morning/talk/news show, so all the old people hear about it and want to try it.

Operating Profit/Loss 12 months ending March 2009 (yen)

Hudson: +1,742 million
D3: -2,304 million
Capcom: +8,063 million
Namco-Bandai: +11,830 million
Koei: +25 million
Tecmo: -5,414 million
Takara/Tomy: +1,377 million
Dwango: +218 million
AQ Interactive: -468 million
Sega/Sammy -22,882 million
Eizo Nanao +682 million
Falcom -34 million
Sony: -98,000 million
Nintendo: +279,089 million
Konami: +10,874 million
Marvelous: -1,221 million
Nippon Ichi: -65 million

Falcom is mostly known for the Y's series.

AQ did Vampire Rain, Blue Dragon Plus and the KORG DS Synthesizer

Marvelous does Harvest Moon stuff as well as publishes a ton of small DS RPGs. Generally they publish for Grasshopper Manufacture in Japan (Suda51)

D3 publishes mostly garbage, with some small stuff like Bangai-O DS / Galactrix

I'm not sure that the losses from Marvelous are from their games division. They also have an animation studio and something to do with the music business.

I cant make any sense of the actual report because its all moon language.
Yeah, you can transfer your save as well to play on your TV or play on the road.
Cool thanks. I see some bus Suikoden in my future.

I tried the Red Faction demo last night. That game went from 100% not on my radar to 100% first day buy.
Let me share that Suikoden. :squirtle4:
I wanted to like it, but the demo felt totally broken.
I don't think I played it 'the right way'.

There's not a right way to play it, which is most of the fun. I just tossed explosives around to blow up stuff until I got to the mech and then destroyed everything that I could find. It seems like it should be a very fun physics playground kind of game.

Red Faction demo was cool--I was impressed by the amount destructible stuff in the environment, but it seemed higher on the difficulty side than I would've expected.
didnt u see the ostrich video?
that sold me on picking up red faction

Haha, that was awesome. That helped mend the wounds of their horrible viral marketing campaign with that terrible out of sync video.

I noticed one of the new community games on XBL was an Amplitude rip-off called Jammer, though the innovative rhythm gameplay described in the description may refer to it being an awful version of Amplitude.

I can't believe I waited so long to play butcher bay. I already beat it and am playing Dark Athena right now. Great games, though I just wish they would have spent more time on Dark Athena to make it feel more "new gen"-ish, because it feels exactly like butcher bay, which isn't a terrible thing, but they could have improved on it so much more.

http://kotaku.com/5256619/guitar-hero-5-four-of-anything

I'm guessing the new Guitar Hero will be called Guitar Hero: Gimmicks Edition because very little of the new features make any sense as useful additions to the series. Unless the song allows for multiples of any instrument, I don't see how four drummers playing the same notes is all that appealing.

The only useful thing I've heard being announced is the ability to change difficulties without starting over, but the idea of people dropping out and jumping in during a song that only lasts a few minutes doesn't make any sense.

I don't really think so, 360 has Fable, Halo, Gears of War, and some RPGs that will be ported over eventually.
PS3 has God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Valkryia Chronicles, Uncharted, Socom, MAG, FF Versus, etc.

Granted, they both share some shitty exclusives (perfect dark and banjo kazooie/lair, haze). And lose some decent ones (dead rising and condemned/final fantasy 13 and tekken 6).

So it's about even I guess, but with God of War III and Uncharted 2 coming out, it's nice for 360 users to have something to look forward to, other than third pary games. ;)
