FEAR is really good. Pass on the expansions, though.
rly? i heard:

FEAR 1 : bad
FEAR Files: so-so
FEAR 2: awesome

though i liked FEAR 1, havent played the other ones yet

I haven't played FEAR2 yet, so I'm unsure. I really enjoyed FEAR a lot though, but the expansions weren't really as good at all. I don't think their story is canon either, so you can save yourself some money and just skip to 2.

The expansions are just more of the same. More office buildings and warehouses. If that's all one wants then they're worth playing.

And you good sir are correct, the stories in the expansions are indeed not canon.

I think I saw somebody mention Saints Row 1 today and I popped that game in for a quick minute but it was just too dated. Really bad framerate issues and strong popin definitely had an effect on me. Really just an archaic infrastructure to that game. Glad I got it for cheap on goozex and at least I had fun playing it the first time around.
man... Project Trico basically looks like all the elements of Ico + SotC (except a colossi is ur pet) + Big Rat Cat Griffon Thing.

That's not bad at all though.
Herm - I'm tempted to watch that leak, but I'm going to just wait for E3.

Give me Suikoden.

Despite the fact that I bought it day 1, Odin Sphere is lost deep in my backlog. Maybe I'll get to it before the next Playstation console rolls around.

:nottalking:

No, but I have played Hakuna Matata.

It's too restrictive for me. I just wanna go out and photograph the animals. I don't want to have to be reliant on that 'Jambo!' driver guy.

It looks SO good (if this trailer is even remotely representative of the final gameplay). This game plus a PS3 price drop could finally push me to picking one up.

Oh wow, Sega bringing that old arcade game Jambo! Safari to the Wii and DS.

I've played that a few times.
Won't be the same without the sitdown cabinet though.

Is that the one where you shoot giant insects and such?

Or is that the Safari lasso game?

Anybody get Bionic Commando yet? I think that one's going to be my reward after finishing all my finals. None of the rental places will probably get it 'till Friday though.
Hope nobody buys Terminator (though I doubt a Cag will), it's only 4 GD hours.
I just discovered the joys of psp remote play last night. And now I have Suikoden on the bus. :whee:
Are you just streaming it or did you transfer it over?
It's like if Odin Sphere had good animation.
?? Well, that's a throwaway comment.

Odin Sphere had "good" animation, IMO. Would it have benefited from more frames of animation? I don't know. There's definitely a style to the game's art and presentation that I thought worked well the way it turned out. If the goal was to make the game seem like a painting come to life, I think the game achieved that.

I still haven't gotten very far in that.

Maybe I should get back to it....

Demon's Soul coming to America!!
Thanks Atlus for publishing!

Experience the game Eurogamer.net awarded 9 out of 10, hailing it as "absolutely compelling; dark, detailed, unforgiving, creatively cruel," and adding, "you can learn to love Demon's Souls like few other games in the world."

Zewone is more right.

VERY unforgiving hack n slash game with loot and grinding. Your character can be anything from a heavy knight to a light and fast ninja.
There's also some light online co-op elements and online PvP.

Reviews? Almost definitely. Every review I've read is glowing for this game.
But it's still different from Sacred which is much more open world.

Here's a better description from the PR:

Revolutionary online features support your adventure like never before, presenting seamless interconnectivity that serves in every instance to enhance the single-player game. Team up with two other players in simultaneous cooperative play, working together to topple some of the game's colossal bosses, or force your way into the games of skilled players and challenge them to PvP battle. Leave hints and clues for those who will follow in your footsteps; either intentionally or through your own inadvertent demise, your bloodstains will allow your successors to view a replay of your death, hinting at how to avoid your gruesome fate. Unprecedented in its depth and subtlety, peerless in its relentlessly challenging gameplay, Demon's Souls is the ultimate action RPG.

Annnnnnnnnnd my last post about it:

Key Features
 • Ultimate hardcore RPG challenge -- In this brutal land, death is inevitable, but not final. Combining the best features of an action game and RPG, you'll slice, smash, shoot, and ensorcel some of the most horrible, vicious enemies ever encountered. Are you strong enough to face the impossible and win?
 • Groundbreaking online capabilities -- Network features go far beyond any previous RPG, allowing players to leave hints for each other, replay death scenes, cooperatively revive dead players, or invade another player's game to wreak havoc. Not merely an add-on feature, multiplayer options are vast, and uniquely focused on changing and intensifying the single player experience.
 • Freeform and flexible -- The open-ended structure of the game means that there is no single path, but rather a wealth of options. Set your own pace and progress as you like. Build exactly the character you want by creating a detailed avatar, nurturing the right stats, and customizing your skills and equipment.
 • You act, the world reacts -- The World Tendency system changes the aggressiveness of monsters and the rewards for killing them based on players' actions. Different events and NPCs may be triggered, as well.
What system is Demon Soul for?? PS3?
Yes.

I like hack n slash, but "relentlessly challenging" hack n slash doesn't sound fun to me. :p

Sounds interesting to me... I'm always up for a challenge.

Speaking of a challenge, last night I tried to beat Super Ghouls and Ghost. I got through the 1st run-through no problem (if you're not familiar with the game, you have to complete it twice. When you finish all of the levels the first time, it will return you to the beginning of the game and make you repeat them, on an even harder difficulty.)

The second run-through, I hit a huge snag at the 7 (& final) level. By this time it was 4 something in the morning and I was tired from a night of drinking beer, so I gave up after about 40 minutes. It was just too difficult to beat the level with the goddess weapon (a special weapon that you have to have in order to beat the last boss, otherwise you have to restart the stage.)

Great game though.
