PSP!!!! :shakes fist:
And dang, Rising sounds like it won't be an MGS like we know.
Probably more of an action-fight game since Kojima not that involved.
Its why Metal Gear going to the 360 is really meaningless. MGS4 is still exclusive, and Kojimas next game is for the PSP. The 360 is getting a side game cash-in designed for western gamers. And its not even exclusive at all. If you love metal gear, you wont settle for just that.

If it means I actually get to play the game instead of watching it, then I'm ALL for it.
Kojima said the MGS Franchise is going to the 360, starting with the new MGS game.

Sounds like the ports are coming.
:whistle2:s

didnt they say that with Final Fantasy? Its not like they are bringing over 1 - 12 over to 360. Nor did it mean that they would get XIV (which they didnt)

I still think Konami is only bringing over MGSR to test the waters, since they are probably still sore on how bad MGS2S did on xbox. Plus to shut up 360 owners
Looks like FFXIV also coming to 360 eventually.
yea, "looking into other hardware" for SE is code for "we are secretly deving it"

it would be badass if there was cross platform play with pc, 360, and ps3...but i know that will never happen

Yeah but isn't XIV an online FF, if it's like the other online one on the 360 it'll mean boss fights that last 2 weeks and a community of 100 japanese players.
Rising will sell better on the 360 than PS3 or PC.
Yep. Just like RE5. Hell I'll buy it and I haven't even gotten around to the first four yet.

It did with 360, PS2 and PC on FF11, right?

And about MGS, who knows. I can see them bringing the franchise over. It's harder with FF, the games are on multiple systems. They could easily pop out the MGS collection like the PS2 got or just put it on the XBLA.

Doesn't look like FFXIV will be "exclusive" for long.

Just announced at the Square Enix press conference:

11:56 FFXIV will be coming to the PS3 & PC. They are currently considering other hardware (including Microsoft hardware)
Zew are you seriously interested for XIV? I immediately pushed it out of mind once I saw "Online".
I loved FFXI.

oops, forgot about FFXI (since it is online)

Idk, too me, it would seem like a waste of time for Konami since they are actually deving games (unlike Eidos with Tomb Raider) currently. And no, its not easly to just "pop" out collections for other consoles. Or else everyone would be doing with their best selling games. It was easy for MGS cause they just had to burn the ISOs onto PS2 and PS1 discs

most i can see coming is maybe a port of MGS4 since Konami will probably rerelease MGS4 is a substance-like pack sooner or later

I wanted to like FFXI, but couldn't overlook its major flaws in terms of (1) exp lost for dying, (2) the difficulty in traveling from point to point, and difficulty in finding a balanced, capable, knowledgeable party.

If FFXIV fixes those things, I'm looking forward to it. In the meantime, I'm highly skeptical that it will.
You posted that too late Zew. ;)
How so?
-------------

No PlayOnline for FFXIV and there will be a beta. I have to get in.

They've already fixed those problems with patches in FFXI.

No playonline with FF14?

Does that mean no fees other than a gold account, or...?

It'll just mean a subscription separate from a regular fee (if/when it comes to 360), so $10-$15 a month, no $50/year if you want to play it like that.

Yep. I think I really need to get the wireless adapter, the wireless thing I have gets me 76 KB/s when downloading a video from the XBLM. Testing it out on my laptop, it's 95% slower than regular old wireless :/

you have your ports forwarded correctly or the xbox as the DMZ ip?

What are you using?

You can also share your internet with your PC or laptop. I did that until I got a proper wireless adapter.

There are several games at E3 that I've been following or just now discovering.

Prof. Layton & the Diabolical Box: I'm playing thru the first one now (almost done) and I'm really enjoying it.

White Night Chronicles: Another Level 5 game. The new trailer shows a bit more of the story and has intrigued me even more.

Monado: A Wii RGP developed by Monolith (the Baten Kaitos gang).

Borderlands: Fallout 3 + Diablo

One game I'm really looking forwards to that I haven't heard any E3 news about is Deus Ex 3.

Also looking at the PSP Go! it looks like I would cramp up when playing that for more then 5 minutes. Another reason I sold DS Lite. Old PSP design is pretty comfortable.

I'll agree and also add the poorly designed endgame content. Only the Japanese could think 10-20 hour encounters were a good idea.

waitwaitwait. no more exp loss when you die? since when?

that's why there's "Mountain Dew Game Fuel"...or whatever the fuck.

20 hour battles can fuck right off fo sho.

but if you don't drop exp at death anymore, I may have to jump back into FFXI. DAMMIT!

You lose a smaller amount of XP and if someone casts revive on you, you get it back. I've also heard they scaled back the 10-20 hour battles. It's been awhile since I've played though.

I won't again, I'll just wait until XIV.

yea, the trailer at the Konami press just showed a PS3 logo at the end...its multiplat

Kojima wont be making/directing this one. "Rising will be created by the "up & coming youngblood" at Kojima Productions."

He will be focusing on the psp game

and MASK game is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to check it.

This. Sounded good enough for $25, but it's not quite living up. I used to share my laptop connection back in the days of the original MGO, but it was a big pain to set up, and I want something that's always on.
1.5Mbps isn't going to cut it.

If you don't want to spend the dough on the official adapter, you can get a wireless gaming adapter from one of the big router companies. I have a Belkin gaming adapater that works great.

This is the only one I see for a reasonable price with a quick search.

I don't know what speeds my 360 operates at on my network, but I'm lucky if I crack 400kbps on regular downloads (laptop) and usually I connect fine to Live stuff.

--

I'd recommend, if you have a spare (compatible) router around, flashing it with DD-WRT and setting it to become a client of your current network. In theory, if you know your way around networking, you could have 2 WRT54G Linksys routers for the cost of a MS official adapter -- flash them with DD-WRT and you're good to go. I originally bought an WAP54G for $70, but it's serving the same purpose (I just needed a switch to go with it).

1.5Mbps = just under 180-ish kbps Frosty.

===

Welp, throwing Hakuna Matata onto ebay, might as well wait for US release.
Looks like I'll get what I paid for it back so that's good. If anyone wants it for $34 shipped. PM me.

Wait, I did that calculation wrong. I mixed up bits and bytes.

1.5 MegaBytes is more than enough for gaming with actual speeds.
It's too slow, or annoying for downloading large files though.
