By what standard? It sold boatloads, it still gets tons of XBL playtime, and they continue to add maps/content. I haven't played much of it at all, but I can't deny that (1) it's popular and (2) it plays like Halo.

People said the same thing about Halo 2 (SP campaign, at any rate) when it came out. But hell, it was one of the most popular XBL titles until Halo 3's release (might still be more popular than others).

By what standard is it a disappointment?
By my standards, and everyone who I used to play Halo with. We played Halo 2 for the better part of 3 years. Halo 3 came out and we played it a couple of months, if that.

They changed way too many things and made it feel worse than Halo 2 somehow. They catered to a more casual Halo player.

Here's to hoping Reach doesn't suck.

Ditto. My friends and I played Halo 2 mp more than any other game ever but we just couldn't get in to Halo 3. And I agree. Something is off in 3. The weapons aren't as powerful or something.

Uncharted 2 is so sweet. I would've played it yesterday, but I was too busy passing out. GOTY? Maybe.

I'll be camping out in multiplayer for a long time after finishing the single player. Did some co-op this morning, it's a blast.

I'm still going to go with Halo 3 >> RE5

I've had far more fun playing halo 3 at lan parties, online, etc than I ever had with RE5.
Sorry. This stays in my archive w/ Uncharted 1, Halos, and the God of Wars.

Hell yes :bouncy:
You can let me borrow it, when you're finished.

For online, maybe. If you don't count the coop. :D

Halo 3 campaign was bad enough that I played through once on Heroic.
Halo 3 multiplayer was so unenjoyable that I played about 4 matches before I got sick of asshats camping on the shield powerups.

RE5 was at least decent enough that I played through twice.
I'm tempted to use the soul level glitch in Demons Souls to level up quickly and play through the game. My backlog is so stacked and I simply don't have the time to invest in everything right now. I do want to see Demon's Souls' story/levels unravel, though. And I have Uncharted 2 sitting on my desk, among other games.
Soul Level glitch? I might have to look into that. I realy want to play the game but I know it's just going to be a huge time sink....
RE5 was at least decent enough that I played through twice.
I barely made it through once.

To each his own I suppose.

Haha, I finally started Demon's Souls last night. I'm terrible at it! But I'm hooked. I'm almost glad Uncharted 2 isn't here yet, so I have some time to mess around with it. Actually, now that I think about it, I'll probably have Uncharted 2 just about the time I get totally frustrated and need a break from it.

Halo 3 wasn't a disappointment for me because I expected it to suck, which it did. On the other hand, RE5 was a huge disappointment. I won't even blame the forced co-op (though that was a problem). The game just didn't feel fun. It lacked a soul or something. I can't put my finger on it but the game felt lifeless.

I'll agree with you 100%. It didn't have the... charm?... that RE4 had.
I haven't beat it yet, but I will by tomorrow.

I got it yesterday, but I really only got to start playing it today.
I wish I had that kind of time...

I'm keeping U2 indefinitely. The MP is cool--love cop-op. Plus, some games I just want available in my library if I ever want to revisit it.

Keeping Demon's Souls indefinitely too. That game is very cool.

I'll play Uncharted MP until MW2, and probably switch back and forth.
I want a really good FPS though.

I finished RSV2 with a friend over the past week or so and it was mostly a snore by R6 standards. I'm surprised the game was praised so much.

Well, looks like all the rumors were correct as the latest leak is most explicit about it (ND dev stated it on the U2 forum then deleted his comment and told people to never mind).
Cross game (party) chat in the next PS3 update. Finally..........

That's easily my fave feature on 360.

Thank god. They should have had this day 1.
I wish I had that kind of time...
The games not that long. I got to chapter 12 in like 4 hours.
Don't care for the MP zewone?
I'm only up to chapter 5, which was about 1.5 - 2 hours I think.
The MP is pretty good, but I played the shit out of the beta, and everyone on PSN sucks so there's no competition. It gets boring.
Most of the praise was for the multiplayer.
I'll have to try it out with him then, because the singleplayer (co-op) graphics, levels and story were pretty much Haze-like quality.

The only redeeming thing was the face mapping (played as my lady friend) and the shooting and controls were nice after getting used to it.
I vow to play Uncharted
Not 2
by the end of the year.
LOL. How is that a spoiler. I think anybody with 1/4 of a brain and internet connection knows that there are 2 games in the uncharted franchise.

RE5 was a GREAT game. I really don't understand how anyone could not have a ton of fun in co-op with that game. I can't think of a better Co-Op game..

I'm playing through Uncharted 2 now and absolutely loving it. However, can't play all that much during the week due to limited time. Plan to mostly play this weekend.

I also got screwed again on GameStop trade-ins (like for MotorStorm: Artic Edge), but oh well (have a digital version now and happy with that).

Disagree. Most games I've played coop in rank higher, for me, than RE5.

I agree, but I can't think of many games I've played through co-op. Halo 1, Children of Mana :)puke:) some of Perfect Dark, some of Gears 1.... that might be it.

wait... fallout 3 GotY Edition released already?... time to finally pick the game up since I was waiting for this version to release.

Still dont know if I like it after beating it.

God dammit, I offered you Dynasty Warriors and ten dollars. I doubt you even got the latter from gamestop. :bomb:

Soul glitch?

Damn, nevermind, Uncharted 2 = :hot:

Is there no way to get yourself into someone else's party? Will inviting a member of a party somehow get you in the party they're in?

I beat Uncharted 2 on Normal in 10 hours, 4 minutes. I also died quite a bit. Especially near the end.

I don't know...I'm torn between Batman and Uncharted 2 for my GOTY right now. It still might be Batman.

I'm pretty close to the end of uncharted 2. I want to finish it tomorrow. The mulitplayer is really good too. Just a lot of wannabe gangsters on there. I think I hear more shitdicks talking ghetto slang on PSN than Xbox Live, but that's just me.

Sigh. Picked up Uncharted 2 yesterday (Tuesday) morning.. still haven't had a chance to play it. I really want to, but I just can't seem to find the time between work and helping out with friends and family. It makes me sad.. hopefully I will be able to tear into it this weekend.

Between that, Demon's Souls, and SmackDown! next Tuesday, I'm set for a while..
Is fat princess worth buying? I heard bad things when it came out..
Nah... I got a few more gameshares available for it though if you got anything good to trade.

I think I'm getting to the end of the Uncharted 2 as well. It's a tough choice between this and Batman for GOTY for me. I'm leaning towards Batman honestly...

The story was boring, the characters were boring, even though they shouldn't have been. I didn't care at all about the whole "twist" the game had. Also the parts where you had to use the cover system were awful.
