Oh God, BAIL OUT :( I was actually hoping they would do well with WaW..

I should have mentioned haven't started Fable 2 or Dead Space. I was going to wait on them but B2G1 used + Flip Credit + Selling Saints Row 2 on amazon meant I got them for around $15 apeice.

See if you can find one of the 120GB hard drives used at gamestop. With Cellfire it should be like $70 I think, if it applies to accessories.. That's how I got mine.

I buy games that I enjoy, not games I convince myself I like because it's Sonic or It's on my favorite platform or because damnit i'm that stubborn and I don't care if it's broken and generic, I get a strictly scripted battle with a large beast that I have to shoot when the game gives me the opportunity!!

AAA or no play means I don't waste my time with crap like Sonic Unleashed or Legendary. Under any circumstances. Time is more valuable than money with all the flipping going on recently. Some people just like to waste theirs.

I never finished gears 1. I got past the part with the car and the big flashlight. I think I got stuck a little bit after that because the bat things kept killing me. Can someone give me a rundown of the story?
 
Just because you call a game crap doesn't mean it is. I buy what I enjoy, since last I checked I played games to have fun.

A lot of things go boom but they didn't go boom enough so you have to make them go boom again.

Whoknows has bad taste and I can say as many things are crappy as I want to. Just like how most of the PS3 lineup is kinda crappy. I'd probably be playing Motorstorm: Pacific Rift though if I had the system.

Check wikipedia... my brain is off.

uh, you go get the car with dom, you drive back and pick up baird and cole. You end up in a warehouse place while it's raining, trying to get undergound, I think. you go underground, look at all the juice, take out a corpser. You continue to recon or something, trying to map the tunnels so they can figure out how/when to drop the light bomb. You end up coming up out of a power station or some shit and get on a train for some reason. RAAM is there. You kill RAAM, get picked up by baird/cole in a chopper, lightmass bomb goes off. Queen Locust has some conversation about how the humans will die. Queue Gears 2.
 
I did sell my PS3 before Resistance 2 came out but Shawn Elliot's meh-tastic previews and even Garnett Lee from 1up who was super hyped saying it's "mindbogglingly bad" prove it enough for me as I trust 1up's opinions on things pretty well.

Nobody's really been saying positive things about it except the PS3 nuts and NeoGAF, which are the same thing.
 
Well B+ isn't a bad review, but Garnett Lee has been hyping this thing for over a year and went on a rant about how disappointed he is in the whole thing..

I'm not sure what your point is? Anecdotal Evidence vs Anecdotal evidence?

I'm relieved the game didn't turn out to be anything I'm missing out on from selling my PS3.

I'm saying I listen to all the 1up podcasts and David Ellis, the reviewer has been saying all week how it's a bland kind of shooter, and Garnett in particular went on a fairly angry rant about the game on 1up yours today. They are my opinion makers on stuff like this that I probably won't play.

Of course it works both ways.. they introduce me to good things that I probably wouldn't have played otherwise. Garnett was a pretty big proponent of Yakuza and I picked it up on his reccomendation. Same with Fable 2 - 1up liked that a lot, I wasn't hyped, but i picked it up.

The PGR4 achievement for hitting 88 exactly when lightning strikes with the delorean while racing in a storm was a pretty awesome BTTF nod, too.

I'm gonna hit up my buddies dads pawn shop tomorrow and see if I can't find some good shit. They had a DC there that they had for 40. I never got a chance to drop in so I kept asking him to see if I could get if for 25. Bitch never checked and they ended up selling it to someone else for that.
 
Made it up to act 3 in Gears 2. Liking it a lot so far. I'm confused though , how do you do the execution kills on the downed enemies? I've been able to do the curb stomp but I can't figure out how to do anything else.
 
I've done the curb stomps , and I've picked the guys up as meat shields , and 1 or 2 times I think I did a special (I used my gun and beat the guy down) but I can't seem to do any others. Trying to figure out where the 11 different executions come from.

Where are all the Mirror's Edge reviews...........

Even if the game is super short, and the story is terrible (which is sounds like it is), I think the time trial mode will leave me satisfied.
 
Stupid bag from GS made me buy it.
That and the art design.

The only things I don't like so far are the story (at least what I know of it) and Faith herself. Just don't like her look.

Other than that, I love how the world looks and plays.
It felt natural almost instantly.
 
Yeah, I do definitely want to play it. The demo was awesome, it's just I really really need to cut back on buying games. A friend of mine is probably going to get it so I can just borrow it from him after he beats it :D

I don't know what the Wii has.
I can't believe I only bought three games for the Wii in 2008. And only one was brand new, non-clearance. Sigh.
 
I'll get RE5 and KZ2 for sure, other than that, not sure what else is coming out. Only other game I'm willing to pay near full price this year though is

Yeah, you'll have it looking nicer than the console versions, though probably without AA or high AF (not necessary on that small of a screen and at that res anyway, for this game.) unless that GPU is bad, but it's one of the newest laptop cards, right?


edit: the game also comes with a benchmark program that ranks your system DMC-style (B, A, S, SS, SSS.)

Shawn Elliot was saying people will be dissapointed with how bland it is Months and Months ago. That's what painted my opinion of the game. Resistance 1 was okay, felt like it was really trying to be Call of Duty, Halo, and Half Life at the same time and failing at all of them. I thought Ratchet and Clank Future was boring. Is it not fair to have preconcieved notions based on former work?

Sorry that I didn't drink the kool-aid like the rest of the people who still own PS3s have, apparently.
