Howdy GGT. Been having some computer problems recently, as well as some issues with Comcast.

Played more Xenosaga 2. I've been doing several of the sidequests the last couple days before tackling the last dungeon. Hopefully I'll have the game beaten this weekend.

Big week for releases next week. What's everyone getting? I'm only gonna pick up Eternal Sonata (PS3) and Castlevania OoE (DS).
 
Well since LBP was delayed what is worth buying? Thinking of Fable 2 but Dead Space and SR2 came out and haven't gotten to play some older games now. Everyones opinion? Fable 2 looking like it's going to be worth owning? I haven't kept tabs on it so not to sure about it. I enjoyed he first but was disappointed in the length.

I was thinking of getting ES. But I'll wait for a price drop on it. But I'll be getting LBP, Fable 2, Castlevania OoE and maybe Theresia DS.

I played about an hour of MOTHER 3 just now!! IN ENGLISH!!

It's so GOOD!
 
I guess I'll pick up fable since I'm not getting fallout.

Mother 3 doesn't work for me. It hangs at the screen after the safety warning.
 
November 14th now is what they're saying for LBP. Seems like enough time to pull and press new discs..

Sucks to be a PS3 fan though. Although they're probably used to getting screwed over by now.
 
I'm having my mom check best buy while she's in okc today. I'll be checking walmart too.

If that doesn't work, I guess Fable it is.
 
LBP delay...it's not so much about PS3 fans getting screwed because they are still getting the game. It's more about a potentially significant fubar with Sony's marketing/sales plans because now the game gets to follow Gears2 and get lost with all that other shit and drops next month. The PS3 fans are going to buy the game no matter when it comes out. Yes, Sony is really the one that is going to take it up the butt, if anything.

But then, I dunno if LBP is really a system seller anyway.

I dont think they are at all, if they are they're aiming at the wrong audience. This game is very hardcore, the amount of time and planning it takes to build a level has a very steep learning curve.
 
The LBP delay is stupid. But whatever.

I found UT3 for $20 @ Wally World today. Almost bit. But I wanna play more Saints before I pick up another game. So the LBP delay is a blessing in disguise.

Kendal, what level should my characters be in Disgaea? I'm on chapter three, and I'm averaging about 7 to 14 for my characters.

Okay. So I've got some extra cash at the moment. I'm thinking I may go grab Resistance or just dump the money I'd spend on Resistance on PSN games. What do you guys think? Any of you own Resistance and would wanna play online?

I'm just gonna wait until Resistance 2. I think it's still slated for next month, so not really worth it to jump in on 1 now.

Either you had an opinion based off of reviews (meaning you haven't played it, no personal experience) or you got it early via the review copy that's out there.

Even though you could've stated it as a joke, I think you were more serious than not.

I never actually beat one. And the second one is just a back burner game for me, so jumping on the first one wouldn't really bother me.

How is Folklore? Worth checking out?

Try the demo on PSN.

I don't think this is really a "bad" spoiler, but
at some point late in the game, you will need to replay the entire game up until that point with a different character. If you can get over that, you might enjoy it beyond the demo.

And that actually sounds really neat if it is incorporated into the story well.

I'm not Kendal, but I think I can answer that: on average, your characters' levels should be about the same or higher than the enemies'. A few levels lower is okay, but nothing drastic. I make an exception for bosses, though (especially optional ones)... nothing more satisfying than taking down a lv. 100 boss with a squad of characters in the fifties :)
 
More de Blob tonight, not entirely sure how many more levels I have there. Regardless this will be one I go back for better scores and the like on, in between VC/WiiWare play.

I think it's time to get Mother 3 all set up.

Okay. That's good to know. I think I'm going to spend a few hours grinding my guys up to 15> just for good measure and then I'll be ahead of the curve for a few chapters.

Threw in about 3 hours worth of Saints Row. So good. Now I think I'm going to watch Stargate(I never seen it before!) and try and paint the rest of my Warhammer figures. Then maybe some Soul Calibur or more Saints Row.

Anyone wanna play something tonight?
 
I decided to pop in GTA IV. It was fun for a bit. I jacked a heli and landed on the top of the Flatiron building. I walked to the edge to have a look around, tried to turn around and Niko walked off of the edge. It was bad ass. I imagine it is what the financial district will really look like if the economy gets any worse.

Nah, it's more like they don't understand the language. Good thing they had a beta and someone brought it to Sony's attention or the game might've gone out that way.

It's as much a cultural thing as it is religious. Having the Qur'an taken out of context is a big deal to Muslims and Sony is doing the right thing by not treating it lightly--they really couldn't afford to considering how big the European PS3 market is.
 
Rented Dead Space. Only in the first chapter but real good so far.

Went and saw Max Payne with some friends. It's not horrible, but not great. I'd say 6/10. Some of the dialogue was laughable, as was some of the acting, and the story was pretty much shit, but enough cool stuff happened it didn't matter.

He's just doing his job. There's really no need for the mod war to start again.

My painting is going well :) and I'm very fucking critical of my work. Other than that, Stargate is wonderful. And I can't wait to fire up SR2 later.
 
Is mother 3 the piracy talk? I'm asking just so I know if I can keep talking about it or if I need to stop.

Finished up Chapter 1 of Dead Space. It's damn good.

Blockbuster is awesome, because I can keep it all month and only get charged like 1.30.
 
I think someone needs to stop posting on a forum until they can get some reading skills. Not only is there Fallout 3 discussion, but there is also discussion of Mother 3. Both of those things have to be pirated to be played.

Despite the fact that Mother 3 can legally be bought, how can the only way to play it be to download it? Because it isn't released in the US?

Does that mean everytime I talk about Pokemon Platinum, I'm in the wrong because it hasn't been released in America?

You still have to apply the patch, which involves a
ROM
. So on that grounds, you have to pirate just to apply the patch and play it.

It's black and white for some people, and gray for others. Imports are only meant to be sold in their native country usually, hence region lockouts. We can talk about Mother 3, as long as we are talking about the Japanese version and not a translated version, even though Mother 3 was never intended to be sold outside of Japan.

Not in Nintendo's eyes. Most everything else, minus console and most PC games, you are allowed a backup for archival purposes only, and even that isn't always the case.
