It isn't so much the content of the story, but the way it plays out. The connection I got with the game and the characters in it. There was never a moment where I was saying to myself, "ok I get it, let's go. On with it already!" I am not a Fable Fanboy, I never even finished the first. I liked what I played, but it was just ok to me.
Okay. I get it. The connection with the characters is key. I guess that's why I love MGS as much as I do.
Know I'm really anxious to give Fable 2 a whirl.
And I can't sleep. The lady is in bed, but she was drunk dialed and it woke me up and I can't settle down. I figured I'd leave the bed so I'm not tossing and turning and waking her up.
Sanada is hands down the best player in the game; decent Praise, amazing A-Time, a supermove that can be activated anywhere, AND an incredible Invisible Swing shot.
Tons of people are having shitty cymbals, which is why I held off tonight.
Yeah, after a little more play, my friends and I all agree that orange cymbal is shit, and has to go. Set's going back to GS tomorrow, and if I keep getting crappy cymbals... the GH set is out. From what I played on the Band mode tonight too, I'm not exceptionally impressed. Star power is confusing, there's no good indication of how the whole band is doing easily. Have to see how single player is, as I felt that was lacking in Rock Band. Maybe I'm just phasing out of the whole music game thing...
far cry 2 has awesome weapons.. But it will take 5,6 shots to kill if it's not a headshot. They are crazy accurate at range too. Works in the game though, so you can't just run out in the fields and shoot them. You need to use cover and outsmart them.
The multiplayer is generic, but fun.
I'm 8 hours in and 20% done, so it's not a short game.
Waiting on fable 2 for now.. It's still sealed.
Far Cry 2 is in my top 5 shooters ever so far though. Could be because I really wanted to play Stalker and crysis and this is as close as you get on console.
Good morning GGT. Speaking of Crysis, I watched my husband mess around with it on God Mode last night (he's already beaten the game). At one point he chopped down a palm tree by firing bullets at it. However, palm tree trunks are spongy and a bit stringy, which makes them flexible in strong winds; that's one reason why they're not as quick to uproot in hurricanes as other types of trees. The palm tree in Crysis splintered as though the trunk was dry, like an oak tree's. Good research there, Crytek
Also, the palm trees barely had any dead material just below the fronds, and none of them bore fruit (read: coconuts). It kind of bothered this former Floridian.
This had definitely got me back into my DS though. I wanna go pick up all the amazing games I've ignored:
Castlevania (Dos first, the rest if I love it)
Pheonix Wright (same as Castlevania)
Clubhouse Games
Planet Puzzle League
FF4
Professor Layton
Any other recommendations? I'll post my collection later, it's pretty small.
If you don't have them yet, Kirby Canvas Curse and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time are both good. Sonic Rush is one of the best Sonic games in a long time. I've also loved every DS game that has "Dragon" followed immediately by "Quest" in the title, though I've yet to pick up DQIV.
So I have returned from Vegas, actually made money in the casinos. Played about 5hrs of DQIV, and it really isn't getting me like it did when I was a kid. Still not bad though. Think I will go for a trophy run in Uncharted, because DQ gets old after an hour or so.
Can anyone here help me in a political debate? Thanks in advance.
Tomorrow I have a debate in my govt and politics class.
I was wondering if there was more to include or just more to know about to be aware of the other debaters positions tomorrow.
For what it's worth, my group is moderate and we're thinking of a 'home improvement' topic. Any suggestions on other topics are welcome. Also, tie-ins among the topics would be great.
There will be 3 other groups, 1 leaning conservative and the other 2 democratic.
3 topics (followed by my group's stances):
Health care
The best way to keep our country's individuals and families in good hands is by allowing us to help our selves by providing our citizens with affordable healthcare. It will be based on the individual family's medical history as well as the individual's current condition and will present a tax credit, accordingly. We are not for more government involvement in healthcare, as both medicare (healthcare for the elderly) and medicaid (healthcare for lower income individuals) will suffice from the government's behalf, but a tax credit does seem appropriate in our current economic situation. We believe overturning the current healthcare system will cause unforeseen amounts of trouble down the road as welfare has already been taken advantage of (due to libel and fraud).
Russia-Nato
Our nation's safety is very important and that is why we cannot allow Georgia and the Ukraine to enter NATO, since a looming war is very dangerous to the safety of our country. Even though those countries aforementioned may be in danger, we have no responsibility being where we have no business to take care of. In other words, there are other areas of the world that need our most immediate attention. It may sound harsh, but this is the reality of the situation: it is the safety of our industrialized country, the United States, against theirs.
Energy
Energy conservation is the key to the future of any industrialized country like our own, which is why we should gradually pull towards going green as a country. Many things can be done right now such as cutting down on packaging, (better) insulating one's home, and of course recycling. Less landfills and more products composed of former products allows cheaper prices because material costs won't exist (and less waste will be around the Earth). Even planting trees would prove very effective in helping "go green".
Started the club and that game is crazy from the start. Hard to say if I like it or not.
Yay for raving until 5am, then having to go to work in a couple hours. I'm in so much pain. Hopefully I can play some Fable 2 when I get back home.
Fight through the pain!!
Last night was the earliest I've went to bed in 2 weeks; 4 AM. Got up at 7 AM, and will be napping shortly. Then I'll play some games. I'm thinking maybe I'll finally dig into The Witcher EE.
I can't stand podcasts most of the time. I read faster than people talk, and I like to skim too, so it usually tortures me to hear somebody talk unless I'm face to face with them, or actively participating in the conversation.
So my dad discovered my tattoo. His flip out was enough to make me want to hang myself with a belt. Maybe it's just because I'm over tired and have not medicated in 4 days... whoops.
My love/hate relationship with Disgaea continues. But I'm starting to hate Prinnys. I just can't use them for shit. ing asshole penguins.
Other than that, I'm just waiting for my laundry to finish so I can go back to school. I like being home, but I love having a room I can call my own and just be left alone in I think I may just go hermit.
I think I'm going to go pick up the guitar bundle for gh later today. I'm gonna wait for a sale one the RB2 drums.
I knew they were better, but after spending a few hours playing rock band 2 on my RB1 drums and then playing the new drums at walmart, the difference was insane. If a note was dropped it was actually my fault lol.
GGT is slow today. Everyone must have lives, or maybe everyone is gaming.
I went grocery shopping (w/my SO), made chili, and played a fair amount of Super Mario RPG today. So yeah, the latter, to some extent
I had chili for dinner too, lol. No gaming tonight, have to do an outline comparing and contrasting three things about hinduism buddism for an essay I have to write in class tomorrow. Shit sucks.
I played Halo 2 today, only because I want to play something I know I can finish before Fallout 3. Also played the Valkyria Chronicles demo, that shit is tight.
Ah. So I'm back at school. I'm going to download the R2 beta and beat Saints Row 2. That's right. The thing I've been saying I've been going to do for like a week. It'll be done and on my updated trade list tomorrow.
I did, probably the best thing ever. I cleaned out my PM's. And in doing so, deleted my R2 beta code. Sick. Time to do some creative googling/lurk around these parts to find another one.

I got a beta code and I am probably not gonna use it very much. If you really want it, PM me.
Been playing some Okami on the Wii. Seems like a really entertaining game so far. That and zelda: lttp and zelda OoT have kept me busy. Going to watch 21 and 1408 that came from Netflix now.
