It looks like shit on my PC monitor as well.

This may sound very out of place, but everyone who has Little Big Planet go and check out a level I made. I spent 6 hours non stop making a street fighter level complete with a vs fighting mode where you can play as ken and ryu... I'll be making a later level of dan vs akuma when I find the time.

you will definitely not be disappointed.

Don't worry. It looks just as shitty on my CRT monitor from 2002.

For what it's worth, I loved that Mirror's Edge demo. I was looking forward to it for a long time but was getting discouraged by the lack of love in other threads. But playing that demo has me convinced that it's gonna be awesome. I just wish there was some kind of goal marker above the point they want you to get to. Pressing the b button to look at your goal doesn't work .. especially when you're trying to move as fast as you can and do all sorts of crazy jumps and slides.

Hey RR, why do have your PSEye on your TL if you're way into LBP design? Isn't it the only way to import your own custom stickers or something?

Check your mail for this Toys R Us flyer. It says "For our Most Bestest Guests" on the front and on the back there's a free $10 gift card for when you spend $75 or more and also a 20% off one item. Once my mom goes shopping there and gets me the gift card I can combine them and get a full price game for $38 before tax.

Ooooh. If I can find a way to sell my current 360 without the hard drive (I'll include my 64MB memory card and a shitty game or two) for like $100-150 I can get a new HDMI Arcade model from Sears and get two free controllers. (one in the box and one as a special offer)
Did anyone play the Ninja Gaiden game for DS? Any good?
Its actually fun and the controls with the stylus aren't terrible.

I have it, and I paid $35 for it (I should've waited since it went down to $8.41 at Target a while ago). I liked it a lot, and I eventually beat it. I also unlocked the special girl Ninja mode, but never beat that.

I enjoyed it too, what I like most is the freedom of movement that you have, from the first person perspective; normall a game like this would have to have a 3rd person perspective. I wish Atlus could get a hold of this game's engine and use it for a new Maken X title.

Although I don't think this will be in the game, but I wish that you could view replays of the missions you complete where you can see all the jumps and moves you made in one video, from a distance.

Almost done with my first run through Fallout 3. After the Lions screw up another Sunday, I am going to turn it on until the animation starts. I just wish it didn't come out when it did. Too many games!

Finally
rescued Garth from the Spire
last night. Finally got around to playing the Mirror's Edge and Valkyria demos as well. Both enjoyable, although ME seems like it could get frustrating with the number of different controls, combos, and such. Tomb Raider demo was promising, but not completely sold on it yet.

Lions got screwed over by the officials for the second week in a row. Time for Fallout 3. Hopefully the Lions can keep their perfect season.

I know what you meant about the various combinations of moves in ME, but I still think it will be a AAA title.

However, I thought the Tomb Raider demo was utter garbage.
Just finished up the bomb in megaton. I went the good route. How is the bad route?

It's scary how addictive it is. I turn it on, and the next thing I know I've wasted two hours of my life.
The bad route is more rewarding if you massacre and loot the town first.
It had crossed my mind to put Fable: The Lost Chapters (PC) into my Goozex list, but it was higher in points than I had hoped.

Would anyone like to voice an opinion on Fable for PC?
It's the best version of Fable 1 but there's no reason to play it with Fable II out.
You could get Fable 2 plus a 360 for only $10 more than a wii with no (real) games.

Media Molecule said that an image import tool/patch will be available before christmas. importing images will be a million times better than using the camera.

no it's actually this :)
I like how "creative" LBP is. All the "creative" things I've seen is trying to re-create another game with the LBP tools.
It's bound to happen near launch. wait till the game has been out longer than a month or two.

I did it but to get it out of my system, now I can do original stuff... plus my ice cream level is all original. if you think all the creative stuff is rip-offs then you haven't been looking hard.

as for my level, yeah look under my profile... i only have the ice cream level and the street fighter level.

Broad sweeping statements always rock socks.

Fallout 3 was awesome. The last 4 missions are really short. The ending was good. I am going to come back to it and do more side quests. I want to unlock the best ending I can. I finished with 360 G.NE.R.D.points, so there is tons left to do. I wanted to finish the game before it got spoiled for me and before Gears 2 comes out this Friday. I could see in the ending where my choices effected the cut scene. It was cool. It is right up there with Fable II for best game of 2008.

Mirror's Edge demo was pretty badass. I generally can't stand platforming in FPS though, to do the jump right you have to be looking down, and that's no fun. And how are you supposed to know when to let go of the zipline when your legs block your view of the ground? Dumb.

Leopard plays nice with my 1GB. I'm making the move to 4GB though. 1. Because it's only $70. 2. The more the merrier. 3. It should help when I get Photoshop from my uncle and when I start transferring over video from the family camcorder.
Vista with 1GB of RAM? Yikes.

Beat de Blob last night, pretty good time.
Lol, no. The GPU has 1gb of VRAM. The laptop has 4 gigs.

so that's like 20 minutes of battery life with the gpu running at 80 celsius? Why not just buy a desktop?

I thought I read somewhere that it got about 2 1/2 hours.

It's brand new, so there isn't a ton of reviews and stuff yet.

Vikings win again! Were making the playoffs, I can feel it!
My LBP online sucks. Its all because of my router. I can never play any online levels, but I can travel worlds and stuff seamlessly. I can do everything except PLAY the levels.

if you plan on maxing out your games, you'll be lucky to get that long. Batteries just aren't meant to power a modern gpu + dual core processor + 4gb ram all being pushed to their limit. If 2.5 hours is the manufacturer's estimation, then it's 2.5 with just basic windows running + wifi, maybe.

Looks like a decent portable desktop replacement system. just be wary of putting it on anything other than a hard surface...that kind of hardware will overheat in a minute.

Reminds me of my friend's P4 2.8GHz Compaq with a Radeon X600. That thing would get about half an hour tops when gaming when it was new. Probably about 5 minutes now.

Hotter than the pits of hell too.

I probably won't be gaming on it without it plugged in. It will likely stay plugged in and on my desk/bed/lap.

Like I said, I just want something with a warranty that I don't have to waste hours and hours fixing.

What's best out of these?
Asus N50Vn
HP HP Pavilion dv7-1170us
Gateway P 7811Fx (too expensive anyways)
Hp DV5t

Don't put it on your lap or bed...it'll overheat in about a half hour or less. These kinds of laptops sound great, like you'll be able to play Crysis in bed, but they're portable desktop replacements...you can't use them like a macbook or something comparable.

I'm not too up on laptop graphics cards right now, but that HP looks like the best bang for your buck...blu-ray drive + 17" screen is insane.

You could use it in bed, just need to get one of those hard surface laptop wedges and sit it on that when in bed, on the couch etc.
