No. And to think I used to like you... :p
Vice city was GTA 3 v1.5. Just like SR2 is SR 1.5 (an SR was GTA:SA 1.5...).
The only real jumps in the series were going from GTA:VC to GTA:SA and from GTA:SA to GTA4.
While GTA4's driving was no fun and felt like a chore... once you got used to it, the game was pretty great. The morality and choices never panned out in the epic way they hyped it to, but it did feel like the next generation of GTA, a true successor to the crown.

Well I understand that GTAIV is the next generation for the sandbox genre. The driving seemed like something that could have been an acquired taste over time, but I feel as though it would set a bad habit for actual driving games. If that makes any sense out of my mind. But again, I agree that it is a massive leap from the GTA I know, love, and prefer. Perhaps, in my "I fear change" world, they made too much of a leap. But at the end of the day it is a solid game, there really isn't any denying that. I think I'm just stuck on the over hyped nature of the beast. I think my expectations were too high. Or maybe too low? :whistle2:k

GTA IV was fun i liked it though its lacked anything to do outside of the main story

also gtas driving was pretty well done since every car actually handles differently where else in SR2 every car handles pretty much the same way

on a completely unrelated note pedobear is real :shock:

(A) there's plenty to do, it's just debatable as to whether some of it is fun. after i finished the game, I hasn't done any dating (still haven't), but I still had all the friend side missions (delivering packages, races, etc.), and stuff like the cop vigilante stuff.
(B) While the game was going for the "realistic" feel of driving, I think they missed their aim... the cars felt different, like they had weight, but it also felt like a chore to drive most of them.
(C)While they were at it, my M16/AK47 shouldn't have taken that many shots to drop someone, if they were going for the realism. ;)

I agree that GTAIV lacked stuff to do after the main story, but I kind of expected that. Since most time was spent actually making the entirely new game working, less time was focused on the extras (note: the same with GTAIII if you recall... except not as harsh). This is something all games have with their "firsts" in a series. Content is almost always more beefy in sequils.

Gears 1 to Gears 2 is a good example of that.

in terms of driving, each car has more of a learning curve. I can drive pretty damn good now in the game. A shitty car drives shitty and a nice car drives nice.

I'm not saying gears 1 was bad, just the extra content wasn't that strong compared to gears 2.

also forgot to say good morning... I got a ton of homework to do so I'll be here on CAG all day in-between modeling in maya, coding in dreamweaver, editiing film for a Mac competition, scripting in director, reading the watchmen for the first time, and watching the office... >_<

oh and lulz = http://kotaku.com/5086713/50-cent-game-just-looks-better-and-better

Wait, I thought that game was canceled, or was that just a rumor?

ReRo: Hope you enjoy Watchmen; it's a great read.

Also, good morning all  Beat Sly 3 yesterday, so it's back to Okami, which I've been sadly neglecting.

Watchmen is awesome. You're going to want to read it again after you're done :)

The pre-load for Left 4 Dead started on Steam today, for anyone that pre-ordered.
I have a 3 day guest pass for access to the full version of Team Fortress 2 through Steam. First one to PM me gets it.
Taken.... hopefully ;)

Morning GGT. I'm getting back in to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. But I think it's just a filler game for me until I can find something better. Basically Chrono Trigger at the end of the month. Oh yes.
watching Baron Manchausen. odd movie but I realize how much of a pimp the man is.
I saw that a couple weeks ago.
Shouldn't have started it at 2 in the morning...

Mirror's Edge is fantastic minus the shitacular story and 2D cutscenes.
RR's snobbery is in full effect I see...

Not every game has to be 'art'

 since when did I snob? I come on CAG and say I like artsy games, but I do understand that it's not the greatest shit out there always.

>_< oh well... blame brak for that.

Sony has been awful stubborn in dropping the price of the PSP. They've been all up on the bundle/color/revision bandwagon and it seems to have worked out well for them.

Then again, the PS2 is still freaking $129 new.

I'm gonna be waiting forever for that $99 PSP.

Yup, the cutscenes look like doodoo

RR:

You're shitting on what is shaping up to be a really decent Gears rip-off solely because of the cutscenes, which I expect will provide me many laughs due to the tongue-in-cheek/over the top nature.

It's like Saint's Row 2. Is it as good as GTA4? Nope, but it's still fun to play

so apparently there's a book fair next to my job sponsored by the city that is fucking kick ass since the theme this year is comic books... will eisner original artwork...

and

(pic is sideways...)

udono.jpg

UDON! udon has a friggen stand with one of their artists there... art books and everything... damn that SF 2nd artbook is nice.

the sad part? I'm low on cash and can't get jack shit :(

as for the game hate: my opinion isn't the end of the world. I can enjoi or hate something such as you. I'm just saying my end of the pillow.

I really enjoy random shit games, so don't think I only enjoy good things.

I'm waiting for the $99 Wii.

Sold 800,000 units last month though. Dang.

Actually, I'm pretty excited to play Animal Crossing on Sunday. (again)

I have too many games in rotation right now.
Mirror's Edge, Gears 2, LBP, and now AC: City Folk.

I thought RR was pretty civil about the 50 cent game.

I'll come right out and say it's complete trash and anyone who supports it is whats wrong with this world...good gameplay or not.

Agreed.

I don't know why makers of games like 50 Cent don't just, say, buy Gears of War's source code, and just re-skin it with fitty and friends.

And here I thought I was the only one in the GGT excited for Animal Crossing: City Folk!

Can't wait to get it. It'll mean being a slave to Tom Nook yet again, but I can live with that

Define 'support'
I sure do. Can't wait for the next one :D

And Sonic>>>>>>50 Cent
Werehog? Really?

I didn't realize that City Folk was coming out already. I'll probably end up picking it up sometime soon. It will actually end up being the first Animal Crossing game that I've played. I picked up the gamecube and DS games but never had the time to play them.

Eh, his stretchy arms remind me of Ristar :p The normal Sonic parts look awesome though.

I'll wait and actually play the Werehog parts before saying it sucks though, since I like to play games before forming an opinion ;)

I was interested in a new Animal Crossing, but it doesn't sound like they've changed much.

There was quite a few changes between the GC->DS version, but this one seems to have very little, from what I've heard.
I'll be picking up City Folk for my DS, too. I like those cute games. :x
I see what you did there.
Let's share friend codes!
But don't budge up my town. :(
I do
