No. And to think I used to like you...
Vice city was GTA 3 v1.5. Just like SR2 is SR 1.5 (an SR was GTA:SA 1.5...).
The only real jumps in the series were going from GTA:VC to GTA:SA and from GTA:SA to GTA4.
While GTA4's driving was no fun and felt like a chore... once you got used to it, the game was pretty great. The morality and choices never panned out in the epic way they hyped it to, but it did feel like the next generation of GTA, a true successor to the crown.
Well I understand that GTAIV is the next generation for the sandbox genre. The driving seemed like something that could have been an acquired taste over time, but I feel as though it would set a bad habit for actual driving games. If that makes any sense out of my mind. But again, I agree that it is a massive leap from the GTA I know, love, and prefer. Perhaps, in my "I fear change" world, they made too much of a leap. But at the end of the day it is a solid game, there really isn't any denying that. I think I'm just stuck on the over hyped nature of the beast. I think my expectations were too high. Or maybe too low?
