I don't get why people think you need an HDTV to enjoy this gen. I'm still in SD and I enjoy my games just as much as anyone gaming on a Kuro Elite.

Trial mode makes me happy, because I want to get legit at SF4.

HDTV isn't a requirement, but you miss some of the detail, plus some of those damn fonts are a bitch to read. :bomb:

I played my 360 and PS3 in S video for a weekend. It's fine, but it's funny how some 360 and PS3 games tend to look like Xbox 1 games when they are in 480i.

That being said, I love HD.

I'm pretty white myself, and always have been. Even when I'm a shit load in the summer, I don't get much darker than most of my friends in winter.
Yahtzee doesn't like anything.
Right. Part of his job. If he's mildly supportive of a game in his review, or doesn't thrash it too harshly, you can be mostly assured it's a must-own title.

Can no one educate me about wal-mart or best buy 360 replacement warranties? I asked in the 360 forum, but in the thread where questions go to die.

Plus he said it was a lot like TR: Legend, which I really liked.

I listen to Yahtzee's reviews more for the comedy than as a legit review source.

Nah. He didn't trash SR2. And that game is straight garbage.
He trashed Dead Space and I

i know best buy's starts after the 90day factory warrenty (well used to at least). Before October you were able to take back your defective product and be able to upgrade also...now i believe you can only get the same product. they also test it when you try to return it.

wm, i think it starts on day one of purchase, though you just take in it, they dont test it.

Nes.

I'm a bit late for this but who cares.

I'm racially mixed and I own:

360 x2
80GB PS3( with BC)
PSP 1000
DS Lite
PS2 Slim
Xbox

I have both 360s, the PS3, and the Xbox hooked up to my 42" HDTV

Of the systems I own, I only paid full price cash for my first 360. Everything else was acquired using trade-in deals/flips

I'm white as hell, and own a 360 and DS Lite. The latter barely gets touched anymore as lately most of the good games are RPGs and text adventures it seems which I don't dig.

Though I did grab The World Ends With You off goozex and need to find time to start it. It got enough buzz for being different from the standard JRPG that I wanted to get it a whirl.

I own a Core 360 w/ 20 GB HDD, on my 3rd one, 60 GB PS3 from March 2006, a launch day DS Lite, my PS2 Phat from December 2001, Xbox from 2004 that has a shitty Thompson DVD drive, indigo Gamecube from 2002, my fourth PS1 from 1998, Saturn from 1997, N64 from 1996, SNES model 2 from whenever because my original launch day one broke, Genesis CDX, broken Sega CD model 2, Genesis model 1, 3 NES's, and a Vectrex that still fucking works.

I've only, to date, sold my TG 16 (regret), old school GB, GBA, and DS Phat, plus I've sold games for each system too.

I have too much shit.

Currently, I have a PS2, 360, Wii, and gaming PC. and about 20 disc based games for the consoles, probably another 20-30 for the PC. Probably about 20 XBLA titles, 40 steam games, and about 15 games tied to a PSN account.

Just traded a DS Lite to gamestop towards a SFIV TE stick :) Had a custom firmware PSP, but it didn't really hold my attention. I think I've played through just about everything I've wanted to play on the DS/PSP.

edit: speak of the devil, I may have just landed a ridiculous deal on a PS3.

I really want the SFIV TE stick for all the quick connect niceness... but it's too much. Especially since I'd have to immediately mod it just like I did my current stick. :\

I suppose I'll just learn to mod my hori ex2 if the buttons get funky.

nice :)

I'm white:
(more specifically, middle eastern)
White people is a term which is usually used to refer to human beings characterized, at least in part, by the light pigmentation of their skin. It often refers narrowly to people claiming ancestry exclusively from Europe. A broadly corresponding concept was the Caucasian race. Caucasoid people from the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Central and South Asia may also be considered "white."
Systems I own are the Wii (got at launch - $250), 360 (got summer 08 - $200), ps3 (got fall 08 - $100) and several others including a psp 2000 (on my 3rd - other 2 stolen), ds McFat, ps2, xbox, ps1, dreamcast, n64, and nes.

As of right now, I favor my ps3 the most as it gets the most playtime when others are over.
My wii's a deadbeat. And beats is what keeps my psp alive! :hot:
Even though I don't play in hd, I still enjoy the majority of my games.

Thinking of using my gs credit for a DSi in the coming months, should I?
Why is everyone posting their ethnicity/ancestry?
It arose out of this comment by a Sony rep that zewone posted last night.
Also, this Sony rep has mad quotes:

"The PSP, from a handheld perspective, it's more of a 13-17 year old [demographic], multi-ethnic, a bit lower-income as well. The PS3 is still in its early adopter phase, tech-oriented consumer... they're interested in the multi-functionality of the system."

PS3 has been out for 2.25 years, still early adopter phase.
PSP only sells to poor blacks and Hispanic kids.
Here's the thing with that. Before I went HD I thought the same thing. I was perfectly happy playing in SD, and didn't think I needed to upgrade. But once I went HD there's just no going back. I can't even imagine how I played my 360 or PS3 on a SD set.

Games are still fun in SD for sure. But playing on an HDTV makes them that much better--graphics are a lot of the experience these days.

Especially if you go from a smaller SDTV to a big HDTV. I went from a 27" to a 50", so it just made a huge difference. HD, widescreen and a larger TV add a lot to the immersion factor.
I think I read that LBP updates are starting next Thursday, so they wouldn't be anything today.

I *think*.
Hey Myke, is that TNA game any good? I've got it coming from Newegg for $15.

Picked up Raw VS Smackdown 2008 for 5 quid from amazon.co.uk, don't think much of it TBH.

Really late to the party:

I'm mixed white and black.

I own:

20GB premium 360 (I'm on my third)
Original Xbox (on my second)
Japanese 20GB PS3 that I bought off of zewone 14 months ago.
Slim PS2 (second I've owned, traded the first in at GS after the network port stopped working on it)
Dreamcast x 2 (picked them up when GS/EB was clearancing them out at $20 a piece)
Japanese Sega Saturn (picked it up from a dirty ass dude in Queens)
Sega Genesis (had it for years)
Atari 7800 (also had it for years)
Gamecube (present to the family from the father in law 4 years ago)
PSP (launch unit that I got the day after launch)
DS Lites x 2 for the wife and daughter

I still want to play TR Underworld someday, when it's not $50-60.

Man, Sega Rally Revo is fun. I put it in to play while listening to the new RebelFM from wednesday. And ended up playing it through the giantbombcast too.

Call of Duty: World at War is kinda shitty :( I think I should put it on amazon.. Only reason I'm keeping it is because my roomate loves it and we might play co-op one of these days.

I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the campaign until the shitfest that is "Heart of the Reich".

I wasn't planning on getting Killzone 2. But after checking out some previews it seems like it could be fun. I think I might order it from amazon later. It would be nice to play something other then RPGs for a change. Honestly I'm pretty burned out on them now... which sucks because I have some great RPGs(Valkyria Chronicles and Persona 4) I'd like to play sitting in my room.

Oh shit, how did I forget my 2 Dreamcasts? I love that system.

My next game purchase is SFIV. I want to get FEAR 2 PC, but that will have to wait. I'll be broke as fuck after buying the SFIV TE stick and the game.

Franks + Papa John's = Awesome

I have no food in the house and it's -10 outside. I was NOT going anywhere if I didn't have to.

curleh mustache!

my girlfriend had to open at 4:30 this morning and the locks on the doors were frozen shut. They spent 3 hours getting paid sitting in a george webbs until the operations guys came.

I don't think you'll be mad that you spent $15 on it, but you won't be happy either.

Still works beautifully, my friend. Wish it was a 60gb but I'll take the ability to play imports any day.

Owned every system that's been released in the states since 1979 with the exception of the n-gage. Current favorites would be the DS and 360. I probably like those best of every system I've played, now that i think of it.
