(A) I've said this before, but I don't understand the purpose of the DLC without a level cap increase. It's broken to me, unless you're playing an entirely new character that has to level up from scratch. The third DLC expansion is supposed to have the continuation of the main story and a level cap increase though.
Sounds like the 1st expansion is like the Mass Effect one: just side missions that don't need a level cap. If the DLC after that actually furthers the story, then a level cap increase seems more necessary. All the DLC is optional, so it's no biggie to me. I personally have a lot left to do in the game.
There was talk that the first DLC will be 800 space bux but the others might be free? :whistle2:s
I have a hard time seeing that only the first one would be paid DLC. Also... I think I'm going to look for that UFO Wombat(?) was talking about on the podcast..
LBP or Disgaea 3?

Which should I pick up at GS today?
I have a sneaking suspicion you won't like LBP, and I'm not the kind of person who would recommend a Disgaea title. So...yeah.

Early import pricing on the Advent Children BD w/ FFXIII demo clocking in b/w $65-70. No thanks by about...$65-70.
Does the Advent Children BD have English voice overs as an option? I heard that it would include English subtitles.
Play Asia says it has english and japanese voiceovers.

Theres a huge thread listening to alternative gaming podcasts.. Ones that I've found that are really good imho Player one podcast, Gamers with Jobs, and Idle thumbs.

For the non-gaming.. Common sense and hardcore history by Dan Carlin rock

If you guys have any interest in Always sunny in Philadelphia (the tv show), the whole series is up on hulu until the 25th.

Just started watching, it's a great show - just finished the 10th episode.

To me, I felt less accomplishment doing anything and not receiving any exp as a reward -- my karma had been maxed for awhile and my caps were overflowing... so by the time I was finishing the main quest and collecting bobbleheads, everything was an unrewarding chore. I suppose I'd be motivated by the achievements... but I really hated dealing with enemies and crap when I wasn't getting exp for my troubles. :\

I can understand that. Then again, seeing a head explode off a body after I shoot hasn't gotten old yet to me. I'm just waiting to max everything out so I can be a killing machine. :p

If I could skip the slow-mo sequences, it might be better, but those are like the final nail in the coffin -- I got sick of watching everyone's head asplode in slow-mo and was like "COME ON, I WANT TO KEEP MOVING". They need a patch to make that animation skip-able. :\
Watching heads and dudes explode is the best thing in Fallout 3. Bloody mess perk FTW.
Hellz yeah! The nice thing is, if you don't want all that slo-mo stuff you can skip VATS and go into FPS mode.

I'm skipping BM perk, though. :p I seem to do pretty bloody damage as is. :)

BM perk is useless unless you're a gore-aholic or something.

VATS makes the combat -- if I wanted a FPS, I'd go play CoD4.
The waiting for the slow-mo death is just brutal though -- I'm surprised more people don't complain about it a la the Too Human death sequence.

Sounds like me. :)

VATS does make the combat awesome. Also, the slow mo is awesome when it's the camera following the bullet on some long ass headshot. I can see why people want to skip it though.

Yeah, when you're dealing with 40 mutants, waiting for vats to end it's motion so you can start dodging while you're AP refills is a bit frustrating.

I wonder how long the game would've taken me if I was able to start skipping the slo-mo VATS animation for deaths after I grew bored of them.

When I saw the E3 07 footage of Fallout 3, I thought the VATS animation would get old. Wouldn't ya know it, it's one of the best things about the game. Never got tired of it.

hankmecrankme paints his face like sting and takes pictures of him and his friends wearing chainmail and swinging axes in the forest... of course he likes gore.

Actually my favorite perk is the mysterious strange perk. Not really that all that useful, but it's just awesome to see him pop out of now where and kill something... I want his gun. I know you can hack the PC version to get it.

Mister Sandman perk is gully for getting your level maxed quickly.

It's so useful! I always click around to see where the enemies are before they get too close.

It is what it is. I guess if I wanted it to go by faster, I'd just play a different kind of game. :p

Probably not much time, I'd guess, but it does get crazy when 10 dudes are gunning for you. A skip button would be pretty handy at times. I'm usually point blank combat shotgun or medium range Lincoln's repeater.

You know it. When I'm not out burning down churches and performing in my black metal band, that's what we do for fun.

I sacrificed a goat on my ride cymbal the other day, just to make it sound darker.
I just used that Big Town glitch to max my guy out.
I did that until I hit 10 and got sandman. Then I went and murdered children in their sleep until I hit 14.

I was just collecting the achievements for neutral/evil 8 and evil 14. (and the 50 speeches... I had 47 or so in my initial playthrough but didn't feel like hunting down people to try to [speech].)
Yeap, they fixed that and the Sandman glitch that you could use to gain Xp as well.
:whistle2:k Did they fix Ashley's
SMG unlimited
glitch too? I wonder if it's worth clearing out the patch and leveling up my guy first? Playing the game at higher levels has been more fun to me than when I first started in the Wasteland as a newb.

I was trying to go for all the Good achievements. But setting off the nuke in Megaton messed that up...

I just found that UFO in the wastelands. I also picked up the Alien blaster that was near it.now I just need to find something to shoot.

I'm not familiar with that glitch so I'm not sure if it was fixed.

supposedly you can hit up ashley for unlimited smg rewards for potentially limitless caps.

I got the good achievements no problem, as I didn't blow up megaton... making a mistake when I hit 14, I managed to get both good and neutral, but didn't think to stop, fuck up my karma, and get it again for evil -- though when I was about to hit 20, I planned that shit carefully.

I didn't think it would mess up my Karma as badly as it did. But I really wanted to get ride of Morta...
However she survives. She scared the hell out of me when I fast traveled to Megaton about 12 hours later and turned around to see her as a ghoul.

Holy shit, that's awesome.
I couldn't stand Moira's voice... she wasn't bad lookin for livin in Megaton though.
When I went for evil/neutral cheese quickly after my first playthrough, I blew up Megaton only after I got the neutral 8 cheese... I then hiked my ass from Big Town to Tenpenny Tower and did the deed. When you think of all the lives you took... yeah, your karma is going in the shitter for awhile. At least until you find someone to bribe or something to get it back. It's just a shame that I don't think you get the creepy pedophile robotic rapist butler in your Tenpenny Tower home. Dude gave me free purified water all the time.

You can easily get the good/bad/neutral achievements for all levels by just loading a save before you level up. Donate to the church for good karma, kill everything in sight for bad.

She was no Bittercup... I lol'd when she got a crush on my female character. And felt kind of bad when she died. Sure she was useless... but she gave me useless things too!

PS3 got here!

http://www.gcast.com/u/IEUgames

They are a pretty new podcast (started around October I believe?) and they really need some feedback, so they can grow. the IEU Games team and myself are working on a website right now too, which is still under construction and we'll be moving the podcast over there once it's finished.
Still not ringing any bells...
Sydney?
Optional joinable NPC who can help you get documents for Abraham Washington. Has a special SMG weapon. I met her in the National Archives looking for the Declaration of Independence.

Ohhh I remember her. Much like Dogmeat, she was dead within a minute of meeting me. Not because I attacked either, but because I couldn't protect them.
