The PSN MvC2 demo is 2P local only.

No single player.

Sony sucks.
my only guess for this reason was because making a full on working demo takes time, and to get it out in time for today, the easiest answer is a limited local play.
The devs did say that in hindsight they agree'd with MS, though. Honestly, I'll take Introversion games on the PC over the Xbox anyday.
But from what I read of their tone, they initially had the XBLA and PC version as a priority, then basically didn't give as much of a crap about the XBLA version.

I can see the SCEA press release tomorrow:

"MvC2 Demo Most Canceled Download in Console History!"

Guess I'm going back to FFVII, and praying GF ships Left 4 Dead.

I'm still DL'ing the MvC2 demo. At minimum, I can play locally. And it might be the base for a future beta for online mode anyways.

I was wondering why only one person in my friends list was playing it :whistle2:s

Luckily I have two controllers so I can beat up on my phantom buddy.
Sammy, how come you aren't on live anymore?
Three words:

World. Of. Warcraft. ;) I started a new character with three of my friends, and the damn game really has taken a hold of all my gaming time. It's sooooo much better when you play with people you know.

I'll likely be playing something on the 'box soon, it's just that I got sick of playing my 360 games over and over again. I also moved my PC into my bedroom, and the monitor is in the way of my TV. I should probably fix that soon...
Free L4D on Steam starting this Friday!!

The catch?

It locks after 24 hours...
You had me going on that first sentence, but I forced myself to read the rest knowing how reality works ;)

Just got myself the new fangled 360 elite GOTY bundle! Pretty stoked, all store credit :D
Why wouldn't they? It has a high availability.
It's GF. I mailed in MKvDC on Monday (should've attached a post-it note reading "burn this shit disc"), they acknowledged receipt of it today. L4D is at the top of my queue w/ High Availability.

What this means? Tuesday of next week they'll mail out whatever is #8 on my Queue.

Why wouldn't they? Because it's GameFly.

EDIT: Sony's fault, Capcom's fault? Who gives a shit? Sony gave a misleading announcement about the specs, Capcom gave us a quadriplegic demo. fuck 'em both.

 They said it was 2-player local only in the announcement:

Here are the details of the demo:
 • Two-player local matches
 • Six available characters – Ryu, Chun-Li, Strider, Spider-Man, Iron Man and Wolverine
 • Seven selectable environments
 • Upscaled 1080p graphics
 • Widescreen or 4:3 aspect ratio
 • Two graphic filter options for character sprites
 • And other cool options to check out
capcom did the same thing for xbl's SSFIITHDR beta
Not really, since it had online and quarter matches.

Then make it the only game in your Q ;)

No, it's incredibly stupid to make a fighting game demo that not everyone can enjoy. Even Tekken 2's demo had an arcade mode to play, though it was just one fight that you could play infinitely. Not even matching that shows that Capcom doesn't put any thought into these demos as they should have. I could only say that the Flock demo and Age of Booty are their best demos in recent memory since they have a lot of content in them to give you enough to see if you want to buy the games, though they fucked up Flock by charging $15 for a $10 game. Capcom just hasn't been able to do much right in the downloadable space since they released Bionic Commando Rearmed.

At least you weren't expecting online play from the demo.
Lemme get this straight: you're busting my balls and agreeing with me at the same time over the same thing?
That is pretty shitty, though. HDR atleast had online.
He had to write a bunch of shit because you besmirched the good Sorny name.

They can't very easily. Howard Stringer (CEO of Sony corp.) is heavily pressuring SCE to break even/profit. And since PS3 hardware still sells at a loss, he's not letting them cut the price. Until Sony is profiting or breaking even on PS3, they aren't going to do anything about the PS3 pricetag. Some may say that cutting the price would meant to more game sales, but the only way Sony can make that back up is if people buy a significant number of PS3 software and accessories (and the people who want to wait for a price drop, aren't exactly the type to buy many games anyway). David Reeves (President of SCEE) even said that they did not drop the PS2/PS1 price until they would break-even profit, and that's what they are going to do with PS3. The most they will currently do is bundle, because including a game only costs the price of case, manual, and blu-ray disc. Basically, they are willing to sacrifice market share just so they can be profitable. And Sony isn't exactly giving away breaks to lose money such as: -They cut the console from South Korea since the currency dropped significantly, and people were importing it from there to save a lot (keep in mind game consoles don't tend to sell a lot there anyway). -There is no way anyone is getting around a cheaper PS3 repair, if they console breaks and someone doesn't have the receipt/warranty is up. The only region PS3 hasn't done that great in is North America. In the U.K., PS3/360 are much closer (360 was out much longer than PS3, when compared to the NA difference) and in Japan/most of Europe, PS3 is the #2 console. And if Sony is performing this way despite having a high price tag, that is another reason they aren't looking at a major pricecut just yet. Ugh, I've explained it too many times. Placing PS1 games in the store isn't as easy as people think. For an example, if a game uses particular music, art, etc., it needs to be re-licensed for use.And there's also some publishers who no longer exists, and some people who prefer not to have their games on PSN due to previous issues with SCEA (looks at the old President of Working Design when people asked about Arc The Lad as a PS1 download in NA). It really comes down to, trying to re-license old games is a pain (whether it be VC or PSN) and for what they sell for (despite all you have to go through) doesn't make it worthwhile many times. If SCEA/SCEE just placed any PS1 game in the Store, they'd be facing legal issues from someone wanting their share or whatever (because its technically their game or they have some part in it).

Now, it's no surprise if I say I prefer the PS3 to the 360, but I'm not enough of a chucklehead to act as if it has no problems (PSOne games, PSP support, the rumor that the new PSP has only one analog nub, overreliance on the pants-shittingly stupid PSN video store for starters).

But I've always noticed that Frisky never has a sour word for Sony. If you say something bad about them or their titles, do you forfeit your right to review copies or somethin'?

EDIT: Whatever happened to TheManaKnight? If you say "job" or "woman" I'll call you a liar.

Mana quit as the President of CAG Nights or something like that. It's in some long post he made in the Killzone 2 Clan thread. I didn't read too much of it beyond the itemization of all of the game night threads he has to hand over to other people.

What the hell are the other two games below PD?

Edit: Nevermind, his resignation as President of CAG PSN Nights is here, not the Killzone 2 Clan thread.
