The Gamestop commercial for Prototype made it look like a PS2 game. It looks very mediocre to be honest. I rented Street Fighter IV tonight and I'm having a blast so far...

EXCEPT FOR THAT MOTHERfuckER SETH.

I'm having flashbacks to DoA 3 and Tekken 5.

I'm thinking about building a pc (to complement my macbook) for gaming and I would like an up to date resource for how I should go about doing that. My plan is to gather the parts on newegg or by watching slickdeals (they usually have some front page deals) and I just need a good resource about which parts I need and what are recommended (hence the reason I need something up to date, since the pc world is always evolving). This is something that probably won't come to fruition until the end of this year and I plan on hiring someone to put it together for me. Long question and I assume that the pc gamers here will be able to recommend me a good resource. I'm clueless when it comes to pc because I've been using a mac for about eight years.

DoA3 fine, but Tekken 5? really? easiest boss in a fighter i've played in years >_<

Perfects are too easy.

Yes, I agree. In that commercial it makes the textures look super plain. Are they like that in the full game?

Yes, texture is horrible in prototype. Game is pretty fun, but feels like any other "superhero" sandbox game, which is good and bad.

It's a must rent, but not buy.
That would easily be used in the intro of the next CAGcast.
It was already an intro to a CAGcast (I think it was the Lost Woods one though, not sure).
I've seen a million, my favorite PSP threads and posts and what not. But what PSP games do the GGTers love? Recommend me anything for the PSP.
GoW Chains of Olympus.

I'd also recommend Killzone Liberation if it weren't for the fact that its a kick to the garbage difficult.
Holy shit, Plants vs. Zombies is all KINDS of awesome. Check it out people!
Loved the demo, but I'm hoping for a steam sale.. got too many steam backlog games to just buy it outright.
Rest assured, they are nothing alike. Give the game a shot mang.
That's not what seanr1221 says.

Is there a blog I should be reading somewhere? I assumed he was gone from CAG.

I want to know how someone like him managed to find a job that pays that well for an entry level position in the midwest - I'm assuming dallow makes a fair chunk of change, by the way; this curiosity falls apart if dallow works for dirt and Van Morrisey records... I suppose he could be like my friend who is socially awkward but has a brain that interfaces directly with computers, though I never got that impression from his posts here. I know he twitters, so you may want to follow that.

Maybe I haven't played enough of it then, but the three or so hours I have played felt nothing like SR2. If it did, I would still be glued to my television, because SR2 was my third favorite game last year.

And there was nothing wrong with Fable 2 outside of the ending and the spire. :nottalking:
_______

I played like two seconds of Ninja Gaiden Sigma last night. It feels really dated now. I might just skip this and go straight to NG2.

I'll disagree with you on all three points. Thank you, please drive through.

I just noticed I still have Battlefield BC sitting on my shelf. I got it months ago and have yet to touch it

And NG Sigma is kind of dated. Namely too much loading and the Xbox cutscenes.

So I checked out the online GS sale and added the PS3 RB2 SE in my cart for kicks. I already had a pre-order for blazblue PS3 in my cart also plus a bunch of coupons just in case they ever kick in.

Well the CAG16 coupon takes $15.20 off the order, I remove one item and it disappears. I put it back in and the discount appears again.

So the total for me was 139.78 and it says free 3-day shipping the RB2 bundle, and I wonder if that applies to the whole order then.

Just thought I'd throw that out there :D

July Game Informer's cover story is Max Payne 3 (10 pages).

I believe this is coming out this year, no? Only played 5 minutes of one of the Max Payne titles on Xbox before I went back to Halo:CE. At first glance the main character of MP3 doesn't look like your typical protagonist for a videogame, but then I saw what the face of the original Max Payne looked like and I can see why they went this direction.

LOL?

Apparently you didn't use the optional install? Cause I'm pretty sure that game can install to cut down on load times as I don't remember bad loading at all. The xbox cut scenes were kind of bad, but they're fucking cut scenes. You play for the gameplay, not the cutscenes.

He looks fine to me.

I made a backloggery site at the request of a friend.
My username there is 'bookshelf'.
What is up there is complete, need to add other systems though.

I think the character design is pretty ballsy and will be a hard sell for those not interested or familiar with the character. Still playing the first Max Payne. I wasn't sure how I felt about this one not being made and written by Remedy but save for a few moments in the first, the dialogue is pretty hammy and dense. Just line after line of some cheesy ass, hard-nosed grit.
