Arkham Asylum has terrible controls and is kind of ugly, I don't get the hype.
Ugly I could understand... but terrible controls? We must have played different games.

I think Zew is right in terms of what GotY will be for most people. MW2 is some big ass shit that every gamer is pretty much genna hop on and play for hours on end.

I'm still waiting for the next "genre trend". it's getting to the point where it can happen probably within the next 2 years.
BAA is definitely my Action GOTY. I hope more companies start making games based on popular comic, cartoon, or book franchises that don't necessarily have to tie in with anything. *wink* Transformers *wink*
This. x100.

Although I have really enjoyed the Transformers:RotF and Wolverine tie-ins, They would have been 100x better if they didn't have to confine themselves to the admittedly crappy story of the movies.

I really hope Iron Man 2 does completely suck (the first one had some good ideas, but kinda failed in the execution) since Matt Fraction is writing the story.

I just don't like the way Batman responds, he's slow and tank-like. His jumps feel delayed, I had the same feeling playing Ghostbusters. The voice acting is really good, but if I can always watch the show for that.

BAA controls were fine. Combat is smooth and simple. But I have to be honest that the stealth felt a little clunky. But it's acceptable since this game isn't strictly about stealth.

I've never ran into any problems like that. The biggest problem I had with the controls were accidentally scanning the environment instead of turning on detective mode. But that more of my problem with the PS3 controller...

Hoo boy, the fall/holiday Game Esplosions is about to begin...at least I have an idea of what I can get if there's a TRU B2G1 sale this year. I'm thinking Rock Band Beatles, MUA2, and maybe DiRT2 or NFS:Shift.

Beyond that, I'm looking at getting Muramasa, Scribblenauts, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for sure. And then maybe IL-2 Sturmovik and Motorstorm Arctic Edge if I can find a good deal on 'em.

Call of Duty IV and Tales of Vesperia have tight, responsive controls. Batman Arkham Asylum and Ghostbusters have floaty, bad controls. The camera in Batman is also out of this world, it makes Kingdom Hearts' look great. Even Prince of Persia (a notoriously floaty series) controls better than Batman. The frequent slow motion cuts are really bad too. It's not a big deal since I've only downloaded the demo, but everyone I talk to tells me it's great.

I rarely ran into camera problems with the game. Once or twice I was hit with a brick or shot from off screen(But thats more my fault since I knew a few were off screen but chose to ignore them). And the Slow-motion cuts were fine since they singled the end of the fight. And once again the controls worked great. I really don't see the "floaty" controls you are talking about.

I'm not saying you can't play the game, I am saying it doesn't have a good feel. There isn't really another way to put it, and obviously everyone feels differently.

I enjoyed playing the demo. I'm looking forward to the full game, as soon as I can break away from Champions...now that I kind of figured out how you're supposed to play it. >_

Cocaine is a hell of a drug. KH has one of the worst cameras ever. BAA, I have no issue with, other than I'm on my 3rd fucking attempt at a playthrough already (not by choice).

What's so crazy about that? I was saying KH's camera sucks, just that I hate Batman's as well. I'd rather play Batman & Robin on the SNES.

Camera seems like standard 3rd person fair to me... which is why I don't think I've seen many people complain about it. In fact, I think it's the first complaint I've heard about it... so that seemed crazy to me. :)

I've been looking for some good drugs. You'll have to hook me up.

You're not making any sense, willard.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally pop in Batman:Rise of Sin Tzu?

I don't know what the deal is, but it is what it is. I like Batman but for some reason Arkham comes of as clunky to me. It felt like it was running at less than 30 FPS, (and that's before it goes into slow motion).

I'm usually in the minority as well but I've never seen this situation before where there's only ONE person who disagrees. You have to admit in this case it's you, not the game.

I think its the engine that you don't like... have you played Wolverine, you probably wouldn't like that either. Ghostbusters did not have the Unreal engine but it has that same control feel.. like controlling a tank, slower bigger characters. I enjoyed BAA, but I definitely see a pattern in the things that you don't like.
If BAA is really that bad, it at least has fooled just about everyone, then.
If the game has fooled you into thinking its a good game, is it still a bad game?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Looks like Atlus will be picking this up, better than Ignition.

Man, I really want it, but I can't bring myself to buy an Activision title new. Haven't done so in over 18 months.

I'm sure Zew is right. I'm also sure he's been playing MW2 for a few weeks now.

I don't know if I'm going to keep my order for MW2. I want the Hardened version too for the case and CoD1 download.

There's always been some sale on CoD just a couple weeks after release, though I don't think it'd apply to that version. It looks so good though, and I'd rather start playing MP when everyone is just starting out.

I too would like the hardened edition, dallow... the steelbook alone has my interest... I really couldn't be bothered with the original CoD, I think... I haven't played 2 or 3... just 4 and W@W... I just can't bring myself to care enough about them at this point to go back and actually play them.

Yep. the CoD1 bonus really has me tempted.

Activision has really done some neat stuff to tempt the hard of heart and strong of will (which, in gaming terms, pretty much means nofuckingbody at all because I've never met a gamer with any ethical standards whatsoever) to bring people to buy their products this year. The GH5/GHVH deal was impressive, and the MW2 "medium-sized" bundle (I can't be arsed to remember the names of each edition - I'm talking about the one with CoD1 but not the fucking night vision) is impressive too.

Eh, I'm traveling enough this month that I won't be able to do much gaming at all anyway.

What is Atlus picking up, dallow?

I see the Van Halen pre-order deal as a completely desperate attempt to get that game into as many hands as possible since they're releasing it at the super confident release date of December 22.

I'll rent MW2 like I did for the first and go from there, it won't be a new purchase, so that's fine with me.

I'm still playing the first Modern Warfare... the multiplayer takes me back to my Counterstrike days in high school.

About the Unreal Engine, I thought Bioshock was good from the demo (I'm waiting for a good TV to get the full game). I didn't like Lost Odyssey, but I'll try some demos of the other games and see if there's a pattern.

I'm only interested in the single player so I'll pick up MW2 when it's $20-30 or something.

Probably after I've played MW1 and WaW, although the WaW demo didn't impress me much, I'll probably wait for that to hit
