I've been thinking about getting Beatles Rock Band. And getting it the Cag way. I have all the instruments from RB1 and RB1 and 2 on disc. The guitar has a broken button but everything else is fine. If i sell all that, I could probably make about 40 on craigslist( the broken guitar won't be a problem, it's craigslist.) I have the rest of the money.
Then get RB2 for $100 (better instruments) and get BRB. Totaling at $160.
Good plan?
Sorry for the clusterfucked writing.
Heh, Chulip and Under the Skin are pretty odd games. Yet very enjoyable.
I've wanted to play those.

You should give them a try, they are both very unique. They are also pretty cheap online.

Also, I love the Resident Evil level on Under The Skin.
I can buy a DS cart and play it in my DSi.

Haven't found a spot to put a UMD in the Go yet.

The jury is still out on this, of course, but we'll really know for certain if, say, six months after the Go is released, the PSP section grows even smaller than it already is. That Fates/Unlimited game is on the PSN store only, as are Patapon 2 and Holy Badman! Whatever This Game is Called I Totally Forgot. There are a handful of other titles that have UMD releases elsewhere.

I don't think my line of thinking is totally off kilter. After all, the UMD movie is long relegated to bargain bin status and I'm pretty confident new releases don't happen anymore.
The basic technology and software for PSP and PSPGo is the same, it's just the method of software delivery. They'll have UMD versions of PSP games, particularly 3rd party ones, all the way up until they decide to release PSP2. If DD, does well enough, they may abandon the physical media system for handhelds entirely. If PSPGo fails, then they didn't bet the farm on a new platform, as I can't imagine it costs that much more to make the thing. This to me, is different from Sega's hardware strategy back in the day.

DD in retail is very much possible as evidenced by the point cards, and DLC boxed editions with codes inside.
DD-only will not succeed. Expect to see the Go fail at retail and a UMD model to replace it shortly after.
The GO isn't even replacing the UMD version.
And there already is a 4000 UMD model in the works to replace the 3000.

He's just saying Go won't sell in the belief that most people don't want digital only. I think it's just inevitable. While I can't predict what will happen with Go, I hate to see the loss of physical media that I can't trade or sell, and I'm hoping enough people will continue to feel that way where the option will always be available. However, every media device is going in this direction whether we like it or not.

Sony has wisely chosen to hold on to their existing platforms for as long as possible before introducing too many new technologies, so I'm not surprised that they're continuing to revamp the PSP after Go. 4000 is going to be another iteration of lighter, faster, better without making dramatic changes to the underlying tech, and if Go succeeds, that will likely get revisions too until PSP2.

Media devices will be around for a long time if for no other reason that broadband coverage is still so poor in the US, especially in rural areas. There will have to be physical media for a long time to come are large areas of the country will be left out of the market.

Broadband coverage limitations don't appear to be slowing the push towards DD. Regardless of what happens to physical media, it's only going to get more prevalent as networks improve, storage gets bigger, and the market for convergence devices (set top boxes, cell phones) expands.

DD will keep growing, but most things are still going to come out on physical media as well. Too much lost money otherwise.

DD only titles will be limited mainly to niche games, shorter games (XBLA etc.) and DLC for a good while I expect.

But like I said, it's a deal breaker for me with games, movies and music as I want physical media. Especially games as my interest is so down in them anyway. I'd probably say there's a 30% or less chance of me buying a console after the 360 anyway.

I still need to buy 'Splosion Man.

I been meaning to ask this, but how do you all feel about compilation disks and multi-pack games? You know, like the Upcoming QUBED game which is basically Lumines LIVE!(and all DLC),Rez HD and E4.

Or like a pack like the Hitman,DMC and Metroid multigame bundle. It got me thinking the other day when I got the Hitman pack and Brothers In Arms : Double Time. The Metroid Prime Trilogy is another prime example.

Personally, I wish we would see more of these. I would love to see PGR and Silent Hill get a bundle pack.

I think everyone here would be in favor of them as they tend to be a damn good deal for getting a few games bundled together--especially if you wait for deals on the set. And this is CAG after all.

PSN is offering bundles, but they aren't cheap. Companies seem to think people will pay a premium for the "speed" and "convenience" of downloading the game.

Retail bundles aren't any better--the Fallout and GTAIV DLCs for example are pretty much the same price as getting the game online...plus tax.
There's two faces in that pic...which one is it?

well i just canceled my gamfly service... not because I dont like it, but because I can't afford it this month. I'll get back on it once I have steady pay again.
Business must be slow on your corner, not enough Johns to pay that Gamefly bill.

I've been playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma, in preparation for NGS2 at the end of this month. I'm rusty as hell now, but hard difficulty is manageable.

srry about the phonebill paper of hell :(

i am kinda glad i'm off gamefly now though since I have a few games I want to play more and get back into:

SFIV - No need to explain myself

MvC2 - I got it but still havent played it enough to be "fullfilled"... plus I'm having more fun with it now than i did when it released on DC

MGS1 - I got this off PSN as soon as it released and got up to the revolver fight, and got distracted after that. Goign to run through it again...

Flower Sun and Rain - fuck... i only played this for a few hours after I got it and havent been able to commit time to it. finally I can.

once I'm done with that I'll prob hop back onto gamefly.

So setting my 360 up to connect to live at school: should I just be able to plug it in with the ethernet cable and it should automatically connect itself? Or is there some setup stuff I have to do so it doesn't try and connect back to my old home connection?

You might have to email your school with your system's MAC address, and then they will allow it to access the network.... that's what I had to do.

As of 50mins ago I am now year older. I feel like an old man now. I can already feel my back starting to go out.

On the plus side I found my misplaced DS!

I picked up Mirror's Edge yesterday for $14 at Target (PS3 version) and I just finished playing the demo portion of the game. It's alright. I failed at the double bar part of the tutorial a few times, though -__-

I don't know why, but for some reason I feel cleansed playing this game. I guess that's because the last PS3 game I've been playing was Bionic Commando. And you know what? I can go back to any chapter in this game and replay them to get collectibles without penalty. Like all good games do.

Well, you must not be THAT old. You found something.
The new H3:ODST live-action trailer was way better than the first live-action trailer at Halo 3's launch.

I say screw Neil Blompakaoidft (overrated) and use the director who made this to make the live-action Halo movie.

Anyone know the band's name they used?

That was awesome.

Here I had to use a router to connect everything to the wall, with a pc to authenticate everything on the router with my school username/pass. Then again all the IT stuff here is a huge clusterfuck so...
