Geometry Wars is fun, but....

I bet man. Thats friggin awesome. I was thrilled just to get the survive 500,000 one.

I'll have to give the custom music a try. Been playing it without any music and just game sounds thus far.
 
It's a fun game, but I'm just too old I guess, no way I can even come close to some of those scores. I should at least watch some of the videos though, I can use all the help I can get!! :)
 
It was really funny because i got 11/12 and then it took me about 3 more months to survive 1 mill. So for everyone trying to get it dont give up. It takes awhile to get
 
I think my high score is around 1,300,000. You can check it online if ya really care. But yes... at some point you have to shoot only in the direction you are driving. The thing that pisses me off is when I die and I have 5 super-weapons stockpiled.
 
Sorry to bump this after a few days, but a few comments in this thread helped me get to the 500,000 level which I realize isn't anything spectacular, but getting to 650k-ish is a big change from my previous high of 350k-ish.

As someone said, it really is something that if you play it enough and if you play it consistently, you just get a feel for it.
 
Just remember to go in a circle, learn the patterns of the things that come out of the corners, avoid wall hugging, always try and shoot in front of you.

Main thing: Try to play w/o using bombs for a few games. You will surprise yourself and it helps you not overuse bombs
 
For some reason, if you go for Pacifism(not shoot anything in the start for 60 seconds), the pace(in terms of when the blue jacks and the red things start coming out and so forth) of the game becomes really slow hence, an easier time getting a high score. This is how I managed to get to the 2,000,000 point mark. For some reason, if you just do it the other way(without getting Pacifism), everything becomes randomized in terms of, you can get the 1,000,000 point difficulty when you are just about to get to 400,000 points(and so on).
