I'm playing Limbo currently. I'm liking it a lot more than Braid. I found the puzzles in Braid often obtuse. There were several I'd have never figured out without looking it up on a FAQ.
So far the puzzles in Limbo are more straight forward and more related to just noticing something in the environment and figuring out how to use it. But I'm not all that far in, so maybe it gets trickier.
I also don't find anything pretentious in Limbo. There's not really any story yet, just straight platforming and solving puzzles with no dialogue or anything.
Yeah, that's pretty much how all of Limbo is. It's much easier and more straightforward than Braid. And the story is basically non-existent. It's definitely more appealing for people that aren't into art games and difficult puzzle games.
I did, however, love Braid's puzzles and I didn't think any of them were poorly designed or anything. I figured every one of them out without a guide, and I would say that it was the most satisfying puzzle/adventure game I've ever played. I know I'm pretty much alone in the GGT in thinking this, but Braid was honestly one of the best games I've ever played, downloadable or not.
