I'm trying to remember if dat YAKAZA 3 had an install or not.

How did the test go?

All this dance and singing could easily be solved if you guys had either dance central or singstar dance. Both games have a function that allows you to upload your video.
Borderlands solo was boring. Just like diablo is better with people, so is borderlands.
never played diablo with people. it was just fine solo.
Do all fat people love Assassins Creed?
where else will they ever get the chance to nimbly scale a building and run across rooftops?

Who doesn't like assassins? They're like ninjas!
New ps blog update says they are doing "internal testing" but no mention of an actual date. I'm going to freeze myself cartman style until they either give a date or it's back up. Thaw me out when one of those two happens.
It's already Friday morning in Japan. They're running out of time to make PSN come back online "this week".
All of these multi-disc 360 games is going to hurt Microsoft's Games on Demand business later down the line. No LA Noire, no Dead Space 2, no Mass Effect 2 (probably 3 as well), no JRPG's, etc.
I don't think it would be very hard for them to patch the game to not require a disc transfer.... Just sayin'
Well, that may knock me back off the fence. I'm not big on co-op games unless I'm playing them with real life friends.

I game so sporadically it's a pain to arrange days and times to get through a long co-op game.

I didn't really get bored with Fallout 3...so maybe I'd be ok with it.

I'm just not much of a social gamer, so I'm not big on co-op games with cags/randoms. Just multiplayer where there's not much need to communicate.
I think that if the link would actually be a plus to you, you'll really dig Borderlands, solo or not.

Download sizes won't help either. Storing 14gb+ on you HDD is not going to work for a lot of older customers, most likely.

Got some more Outland in, about 5 hours in now (timer counts retrying bosses etc.). Did the whole 3rd area (The City) including the boss. The boss was a bit of pain. Several patterns to figure out in the 2nd half, and it was annoying to half to keep doing the easy first half of the fighter over every time.

Still loving it though. Some really good use of the color switching for platforming through out the City section.

What do you mean by "the link"?
ME2 was 2 discs. Haven't played DS2.
Yes it is.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is as well.
L.A. Noire is 3 discs.
ME2 was the first 2 disc 360 game that I remember.

Wasn't Blue Dragon like 3 discs too?

2 discs is acceptable for someone like me who installs discs to the harddrive, asking 21 of my 56 gigabytes would be unacceptable (only have 9 free right now anyways).

Never was interested in L.A. Noire to begin with.

Fine... let me clarify:
As I said, "that I remember".
Never played Blue Dragon. Lost Odyssey was average to me, so I only remember it when someone else brings it up.
It seems Infinite Undiscovery was 2 discs... though I have no idea of what that game even IS...
Anyway, let's clarify -- I think ME2 was the first NON-JRPG that was 2+ discs.

Does Halo ODST count, since the campaign and multiplayer are separate discs?

Also Forza 3, but you can install the 2nd disc so you don't need to pop it in.

I wouldn't count those, personally.
I'm thinking of games I've played that randomly stop you and say "fuck you, get up and put the other disc in to keep playing, even if you installed both discs".

I'd seen it in Lost Odyssey but that's sort of expected, since it's a JRPG, like FF games on the PSX. :)

Games I wouldn't count that I know are two discs:
Fallout 3 GOTY
Oblivion GOTY
Forza 3
Halo ODST

Haha it means I wrote that right before passing out. I meant to say the length, as in, the main drawback for people doing it solo was that it was so long. If that is something you were looking for, though, that wouldn't be a drawback for you.

FWIW, I beat 95% of it solo.

Wow, I did not know that x360 had a good amount of games on multiple discs. Not that it is a problem, but I just didn't know :D

I do realize now that ME2 on the PSN was 12 gigs, that is bigger than a regular DL DVD-9 disc.

Hopefully the 360 version's disc swap won't prevent backtracking to previous areas for all players like Final Fantasy XIII did.

Didn't play FFXIII on 360, so can't comment, but I know backtracking was fucking annoying in ME2 and I had the switch discs several times... to the point where on playthrough 2 I changed the order I did things specifically to only change back to disc 1 once if at all.

New 360 is "out for delivery", but I won't be home to get it. I gotta go pick up a friend at noon, then we're gonna go hang out and do shit. Then I might get twwwwwwwwwwwwwisted later.

Both ME2 playthroughs I only had to change discs twice.

Once when you switch to disc 2 for most of the game, and then toward the end where you have to switch back to disc 1.

But I didn't really do any back tracking. I just picked up characters and did there loyalty missions as they came available, and only did story missions when all character recruitment and loyalty missions were cleared out for the time being.

I only had to switch it out twice on my 3 playthroughs. I 100% the game in each playthrough, too. I never backtracked unless a mission absolutely called for it.

I want to make an AC hidden blade now.

Was planning on just renting LA Noire on Gamefly because of the stupid pre-order DLC BS, but getting it for $7 from GameStop with their pre-order/trade deal makes up for it.

Not to sound like a jerk, but just because you two did the missions in exact order doesn't mean everyone did. Just because you did every sidequest on the spot doesn't mean everyone will. I'm pretty much like you guys too, but I had disc switches happen when I said "oh, I have enough money for that thing on the citadel now or the thing over on illium". I was so fucking pissed I had to switch discs just because I wanted to go buy a weapon upgrade. >_<

The real solution, for people with bigger HDDs, is to only require ONE of the two discs be installed. Sure, you could get away with 2-4 people splitting the game depending on the number of discs... but if I show MS there's a retail copy in the drive and the disc is installed, let me play the fucking game.

I suppose. I've never minded changing discs a few times during a game myself. Not a big deal to get up and walk the 7 or 8 feet over to the 360. :D

But yeah, the install option should let you install both discs and just have to have either one in for verification. Would have been moot for me as I played through on my old 20GB 360. But would be a nice feature for ME3 since I have a 250GB model now.

The only time I recall switching discs in my gaming "career" was MGS on PS1 and that was like a momentous occasion. I could definitely see how it would get annoying when you have to continually switch it out though. Oh the good old days where Snake's eyes were just darker colored spots on his face.

I'm surprised game consoles never utilized the spinning multiple disc trays you find in stereos. But console and developer goals were always to get games as close to one disc as possible, and I'd say Sony finally got that. If a game actually comes out that requires 2 Bluray discs... I'll be flabbergasted.

Hold on to your shorts, bucko. We'll get there before the end of the generation, I'd think.

I think a multi-disc holding thing for a console would be stupid as fuck. We don't need that kind of thing, even with the multiple discs some games use on 360 it's not that big of a deal to switch them out.

Too many moving parts when there are enough of them in current consoles to give them trouble as it is. Plus, I'd imagine that it would increase the size of the PS3 and Xbox 360, which are already big enough.

Yeah it is. I mean, I have to get up, and open the drive, then take the disc out, then put it in its case, then take the next disc out of the case, then put it in the tray, then close it and then walk all the way back to the couch. And then I'm so tired from all that I have to take a nap before I can start playing again.

It's a tough life.

I got NBA Jam yesterday, because I wanted to play a basketball game (even though I don't actually fully know all the rules for basketball still (which is why Jam was probably a good choice haha)). Turns out I'm really liking the game actually, I think it's simple and silly enough that I'm able to get into it (that was probably the case with the original NBA Jam, but I never played that :whistle2:#), I considered NBA 2K11 but I thought I'd have a hard time learning to play that and it would be too serious.
