GGT 121 Can't Stop the 6 Pool!
I have the Stafford, I'm pretty damn sure.
Get an unsubsidized loan to cover the difference that you can't afford, and hopefully get some extra money to live off of. Like I said, I am 100% positive you can get loans to cover all the things I mentioned previously. If you aren't getting enough to cover all of those things, you are doing something wrong or not applying for the right thing.

The Pac-Man Scrub League is kind of terrible so far. They decided to use an arcade stick and everybody's complaining about it during their turns.

I want to know who thought this was a good idea. Ryan looks bored out of his mind.

At least they had a great TNT last week...

The Buckner & Garcia interview was good, at least.

Edit: Ana, Norm, and Steve didn't show up, so this thing's over in an hour. It would've been better if they had everybody do a second round to give poor players a second chance, which could've included arcade stick and controller rounds.
I have the Stafford, I'm pretty damn sure.
Is there somebody else who is handling all this for you? Like your mom? Legit question btw.

Yeah my mom just did all the financial aid stuff since it's all tied in with her tax forms and her moneymaking abilities and everything.

So she's the one who took out the loans, or did she do it on your behalf?
Yeah, I was looking at that game for a while, but even $5 seems like too much. >_<

And hank, GAF would swallow.
I looked at it for a minute, cause I remember seeing it's name somewhere, but it looks stupid to me, so I skipped it. Finally grabbed bit.trip.runner, the back to the future telltale games, and oblivion complete/deluxe.
You don't know? Umm, ok, did you sign a MPN?
Master Promissory Note? Yeah I'm pretty sure I've done that.

I thought about getting Bit.Trip Runner on WiiWare, but the new disc collection seems like a much better idea.

Edit: Oh, The Steam Summer Sale started? Must've missed that news.
Edit 2: I'm glad the terrible Steam sale interface is back. It can't be that hard to offer a list of everything that's on sale.
Master Promissory Note? Yeah I'm pretty sure I've done that.
I'm just trying to figure out why you're working at a shitty ass job that's making you miserable when you don't have to yet. It'll help pay off some of the loan, but you're not obligated to begin paying anything back until 6 months after you graduate. This is assuming these were all loans from the government, of course.
J-cart's right
This quote is completely true, there is no false statement to be made from this.
Whatever shit I have doesn't cover all of my school bills.
Try to get more of a loan, then. It's really not hard to do, it's extra paperwork that honestly at the max takes about 15 minutes to fill out and saves you a LOT of stress in the long run. Get an unsubbed loan like Jimbo mentioned.
Get an unsubbed loan like Jimbo mentioned.
Those can only take you so far since there's a yearly max on how much you can take out. I qualified for absolutely nothing, so I was forced to take out unsubbed loans. It still costs about $1200 more per semester even with them.
How do? Call financial aid?
Yea.

If you're going to an instate school, and thus getting the cheap instate tuition, I have a hard time seeing how the Stafford loans (subsidized and unsubsidized combined) that are offered after your FAFSA application don't cover it.

If you're including living costs (rent, food etc.) then maybe I could see it not being enough if you're going to school in a pricey metro area and not living cheap with a bunch of roommates.

Though the amount offered varies by your parents' income I think (been too long for me, I was independent in grad school which was more recent, so I always got the max offers) so maybe you're getting fucked if you're parents are upper middle class or above and just not paying for your school for whatever reason.

Actually my family is like pretty damn poor, my mom hasn't worked in over a year and my stepdad has some shitty job at a lumber company. I go to a not expensive instate school and only need them to pay for school bills + dorm and meal plan. So I really don't know why it doesn't.

Looking at my online payment history, I definitely get Subsidized Stafford, Unsubsidized Stafford, and a Federal PELL Grant. Everything else listed is payments i made out of my now-exhausted college fund so I'm assuming those are all the things I have.

Man, JSP I wish was there so I could help you out with this. I was in the exact same situation when I first went to college. Uraizen's right about there being a yearly max on unsubbed, but you may be able to get enough to cover everything you need with it. Do you know how much you need for school after all your other financial aid is applied?

Your mom is doing something wrong.

I was literally in the same exact situation as you, same state, same tuition rate, basically the same exact college (my U is a sister school of Edinboro). I also come from a broke family and I was able to live very comfortably while I was at school.

She keeps saying that I didn't get as much financial aid this past year as i should have because we didn't do the paperwork and shit until really late, because I almost didn't go back to school, and that I should get more this year. IDK if that actually makes any sense.

It does make sense that you wouldn't get AS much because you were late at doing the paperwork, but you should still at least get enough to cover expenses. You need to take your mother in with you and talk to your financial aid counselor and see what headway you can make on getting more funding.

Yeah, there's something you're doing wrong if you're not getting enough to cover instate school when you come from a poor family.

Also, unless the school requires students to live in dorms, get the hell off campus. It's usually a lot cheaper to live off campus with roommates and buy your own cheap food an cook yourself than to live in dorms and pay for a meal plan.

I didn't either. Just have to check the apartment roommate wanted ads on campus (or Craigslist these days I suppose) and go meet people and take your chances.

whoa, toki tori, swords and soldiers hd, and AaAAa! A Reckless Disregard for Gravity! are all pretty good. :)
Yeah, room and board is a money pit. My weekly dorm budget for food is my new monthly budget.
Truth. I went from spending like 5k a semester on housing/meal plan to spending 2500 by living at my fraternity -- meal plan, housing, AND my contribution to the house party fund.

The only games I really care about this year are Skyrim and UC3. I've been having fun with infamous but I'm definitely not as crazy about games as I usually am, I barely paid attention to E3 this year and I don't even keep up with gaming news and podcasts anymore.
Better than talking about modern games.
Totally. It's also better than talking about androgynous video game characters.

Or girly Gundams.

Or ponies. @__@

Or NattyIcebeast's fetishes, which happen to be all of the above.

Sup GGT, its been awhile. What's everyone been up to?

Anyone going to the Anime Expo this year?
