GGT 136 is ready for the 3rd Strike!
The people who think he's funny. They're the reason he has 4 fucking monthly books and has invaded almost every other Marvel property.
I like deadpool in Remender's X-Force book. I agree, his presence is definitely overkill
Nope, Frosty! If you're even one point over the minimum then you're good! I actually only did the polls and a couple of comments this week because I really don't want of the stuff for this month.
What are these free games you speak of?

PSN promo group on houseparty.com.

So far they've given out Infamous 2 amongst other games -- looks like this month they're giving out copies of R&C:ACiT.
Is there a reason for the 360 to get a Robocop Avatar outfit? Not that I'm complaining about it.
Oh fuck, i need this.

I decided that If I can get a
gameshare
on 3s, then I'll pick it up on the PS3.

Don't really know anyone who games on the PS3 other than those here and I don't have a mic so I usually stay away from it, but I'll take a shot if I can get it on the cheap.

Yess!!!!! Got paid!!!! Big Money!

Going to get rid of my DS Lite at BB and get a 3DS and Nintendogs at Target, and then sit and wait for animal crossing to release.

Two questions: is there still a chance to get the ambassador games?

And what's the largest SD card that the 3DS can take?

I'm pretty sure that the answer to question one is NO. You needed to buy and register prior to the price drop, IIRC.
The same way the new commercials aren't really pushing the 3D aspect and are more pushing "Look, new mario kart, new super mario, etc." instead of "WOW it's 3D without glasses".

It's leaked by the same French site that leaked the Wii U.
Part of the rumour is that the design team is working on making an accessory to make the 3DS model now have one too.

I don't know if it's true or false... could be a load of bullshit, for sure.
But if it's not, at least I told y'all. :p
Except you don't need to release a new system to place less emphasis on the 3D, which was a thing when it was revealed at E3 when it was announced to have a 3D slider. It sounds as weird as saying the next 3DS will have less emphasis on the dual screens.

Bioshock 2 is like, pretty awesome. I'm glad I ignored it when it came out because I think I bought it for $13 but holy crap was I ever wrong about them not being able to recapture Rapture being amazing. Or if Rapture is less amazing this time, the loss is well-compensated by using a fucking spear gun as a sniper rifle. Lick balls calladuty.

Only if you want to. There's costumes and stuff to unlock, but nothing major. I just want to experience it again.

X-Force is the only place I can stand him. Even there he's starting to wear thin on me. He was fine at first, but I'm getting tired to him at this point in the series. The real surprise in those books is Phantomex.

I actually liked Bioshock 2 better than the first one. I know I'm in the minority, but I felt the gameplay is vastly improved and the story concerning Eleanor and Delta was quite well done.

I got Bioshock 2 for free, yeah haven't even put it in my triple.

3sOE tomorrow! I'll be back around 12:30am, so if you any of you are up at that time lets play!

Rei: 3rd from the left. I'll take her name, phone number and horoscope please.

Indignate: Get it on that triple for cheap! Then all of GGT can play. Plus no worries on the mic, most of the time we have it on or not at all or skype it.

/edit: AWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAHHHHHHH! Deus Ex HR in glorious PC edition, running at 60 fps @ 1080p. This is gaming.

Definitely. They took a c-grade character and made him into the most interesting character on the team. My only misgiving about him is he seems to have every random power under the planet.

I think I may end up pre ordering a bunch of things from Newegg like Batmang and Halos.

That's TaeYeon. She's the oldest, main vocals, and leader of the group. I can't give you her phone number, but I do know around when all their birthdays are. If I remember correctly hers is early March so that makes her a Pisces.

Off to pick up my copy of Deus Ex in a couple hours!

SEGA Announces Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown for Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network

Definitive Version of Blockbuster Fighting Title Arriving on Consoles in Summer 2012

LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO— 23rd August 2011—SEGA® of Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that Virtua Fighter™ 5, the latest title in its celebrated fighting franchise, will see a grand update and expansion released as a standalone title for both Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.and PlayStation® Network. The new game, entitled Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, will contain a full overhaul of Virtua Fighter 5’s mechanics, balance and animations, along with new game modes, new dynamic fighting arenas, a massive collection of customisable character items and two all-new characters added to the roster. Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is expected to be available in Summer 2012.

“Virtua Fighter 5 has always been an authentic arcade fighter, even when played from the comfort of a home console. And, like any proper arcade dynasty, we’ve continued to support, expand and tweak the game in the years since its release,” said Haruki Satomi, Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA of America and SEGA Europe. “With Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, we get to bring the ultimate expression of competitive one-on-one gaming to console players in one perfect package.”

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown contains the definitive version of VF5, refined over the years since its original arcade debut. The new release also adds an extensive list of features never before seen on consoles. VF5FS will include:

The Perfect Fighting Experience: Virtua Fighter 5’s signature style of hand-to-hand combat, with revised mechanics, balance, timing and more, along with simplified controls for new players while retaining the depth that veterans demand

Dynamic and Interactive Arenas: Fighting areas in new shapes and sizes, including arenas with fences and walls that are different for every round – take unexpected advantage of fighters’ new wall-based moves, or break through the fences with special attacks

A Mode for Every Fight: Dominate the leaderboards with Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown’s extremely responsive one-on-one online battle system, widely praised for having little latency, or take on an army of opponents yourself in a new single-player mode

Customized Combatants: Enter the ring with one of 19 playable characters, including fan favorite Taka-Arashi from Virtua Fighter 3 and an all-new character, Jean Kujo, and customize them with unique costume and character items
My favorite fighting game series is back! Yes!! I think I'm actually crying tears of joy...
Man, I know I'm probably the only one, but I'm not really feeling SSF4 on the 3DS. It just isn't as fun as the console version.
You are probably in the majority.

My concern with it was the fact that I can't play SF games on a standard controller. The shoulder buttons kill me... even back on the SNES -- I used to move the jab/short buttons up there, cause I hardly ever used them back then as Ken/Ryu.

--

Preorder people should get their copies of SF3 just like Steam preload -- download and it becomes active 12:01 on the release date... waiting for the store to update is going to kill me. :(

I do think it's nice of them to put the supers and ultras on the touch screen so you don't have to worry about actually inputting them to use them.

Also, I agree on the preload thing. I'd much prefer it be done that way.

I just can't do fireballs and shoryukens using the shoulder buttons... they feel so awkward after all my arcade time with the button layout being 3 in a row. The genesis pad had it right for that at least. :)

Agreed, and Ultra's on the 3DS are damn near impossible for me to pull off without using the touch screen (just doesn't seem to want to detect all three buttons at once, or I'm just not good at timing the shoulder press).

I'll be interested to hear how you guys who are getting Dues Ex like it, personally I really liked the original game, but Invisible War was kind of disappointing (seemed to remove most of the elements that made the original game awesome, which left it feeling like a generic shooter with minor elements to alter how your character played).

I'm going to learn all the songs in 3SO and just sing that shit in the lobby all day. Rage quits before the match even starts baby!

I wish I was better at fighting games online -- I'd totally put on my headset and start a horrible solo rendition of TLC's "no scrubs" as I proceeded to destroy them.

"I don't want no scrubs, cause a scrub is a guy who can't land a combo on me..."

I've been playing some Mercenaries 3D, and I think it's worth $20 if you have a 3DS. It's surprisingly handheld friendly. Missions last 60-120 seconds, and when you're done you can either turn it off or try and get the best rank with every character. It's mildly addictive for what it is.

I'm roughly 50% done with LittleBigPlanet (again), and It's starting to get tedious. I'm only doing it so when I get LittleBigPlanet 2, I'll have all of that stuff at my disposal.

*Waits for someone to tell me that this isn't the case.

Only reason why I wanted to play RE4 was for the Mercenaries game mode. Dat point chase with Wesker or Krauser? Sooooo damn fun.

Bioshock 2 was very good. The only parts I didn't care for were all the defend the little sister while she's gathering sequences. Those got repetitive as there were so many of them across the game and Minerva's Den DLC and you had to do them all for achievements.

The story wasn't quite as good as the first game, but was still more than good enough for an FPS game. The story in Minerva's Den was better than the main game IMO.

I'm definitely looking forward to Infinite. It looks amazing from what I've seen so far. Glad they went with a new setting as Rapture was pretty much played out IMO.

I actually liked defending the little sisters. It really made you use all the tools at your disposal. I loved sitting back and watching splicers run into my all my traps while getting gunned down by my turrets. I rarely had to do anything myself.
One simple way of getting better, become a better blocker. Or in 3s's case parry more.
I'm okay at blocking. One thing Uraizen yells at me for not hit-confirming before I try combo strings. I usually leave myself open to punish.

Are madcatz fightpads decent? Everytime a fighting game comes out that I'm interested in I'll look into getting a stick/pad for my PS3.

You should've just grabbed one of those MadCatz SF4+SE stick bundles when it was on sale at walmart back around christmas last year. :p

The fightpads on the ps3 would only make sense for someone like me who doesn't like the button layout on standard controller, I'd think. The 6 button layout would be the plus, since PS3 controllers have a great d-pad.

I didn't mind the mechanics of it per se, there were just far too many of them so it got repetitive setting up all the traps etc.

As you note, it was pretty easy once you learned to use the traps etc., so it stopped being fun after the first 10 or so times for me.

The 6 button layout was what I was looking for, to be honest. The prospect of using L1/R1 is somewhat daunting.
good pad players are becoming increasingly common, especially with the dualshock
Yeah, if you map the button you don't use much with your characters to the l1/r1 and then you have the 3p 3k on the l2/r2, it's not bad... it's how I used to play at SF2T back in the SNES days and it worked ok for me there. Hell, sometimes I wonder if MK9 would be better with a pad because I only care about 5 buttons. :\

Pad players in SSF4 were able to get away with the game because of the shortcuts the game provided for the players. However I feel that 3sOE will be much different. Add in parries/red parries and the such, playing with a pad would only hurt your abilities to improve. Not saying it can't be done, but you will see a difference in 3sOE.

But if you need a pad for the ps3, get the Sega Saturn USB controller. They are cheap, around $15-20 bucks and have a 6 button controller face.
Oh nice -- MK Arkade Kollection releases next week.
Dude, it's only $10 too. Sold.
I wish they would have released the HD version that got cancelled.

Also BB has the worst pre-order system ever. I went to get Deus Ex and told the person at Customer Service I had it pre-ordered and she told me to go get it off the shelf.

Amazing.

Good thing there was one on the shelf, or at least I'm assuming, since we haven't heard reports of a Godzilla attack on an American Best Buy.
