I didn't die like... at all. It wasn't hard for me to see underwater either, you using an old LCD monitor? The level can be pretty dark and would probably be unplayable on my Olevia TV.

I was using my laptop monitor, which has been fine for every other game, including Amnesia, which was rather dark, but it was still clear. I think that level in DNF was not only dark, but also murky, which just made it hard to see what I was doing.

Anyway, finished up the game. I don't think I laughed even once. And I thought the rape joke was pretty messed up. The game wasn't terrible overall though (although based on the demo, the console versions probably were). I enjoyed some of the gameplay. It felt like a mishmash of levels of varying quality created over the span of the past ten years (surprise!). I was disappointed with the game, but I still had a bit of fun blasting aliens and stuff.
 
No gears tonight for me my fellows... tired as fuck, have some homework to finish up, and I have a 14 hour day on campus tomorrow -_-

I do think its to all your benefit i'm not there though.

Borderlands without useful loot, weapon variety, or anything to do in the world besides go straight to your objectives is what I have heard about it.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it for the humor at all. Unless of course you find unironic stupidity and sexism to be hilarious. It's like if you were supposed to think Beavis and Butthead were actually funny instead of satirically so. Duke Nukem just ends up being the kind of overly macho hero that Bulletstorm was making fun of.

It shouldn't. I'm someone that has no problem with rape jokes if they are in good humor. But the one in DNF is just really out of place.

Beavis and Butthead is funny because it's satirizing that brand of idiot. You're not supposed to think they are awesome funny people. With Duke Nukem, you're actually supposed to think he's awesome and that his one liners are funny, but they are mind-numbingly stupid. He's like the guy you knew in high school that would quote toilet humor from all the worst movies. It's just plain dumb.

The joke was on the alien ship, where all the girls were being raped and screaming in pain and stuff. You then come up to two of the girls who were just raped and they ask you for help and Duke says, "looks like your fucked" in a one-liner kind of tone.
