My original problem with the "artstyle" wasn't the style as much as it was the character design of Cerebella. The other 2 characters in that video I like. As uraizen would say, "doesn't matter how it looks, it matters how it plays."

Besides, the art style is still better than the whole Street Fighter 4 design (minus the heavy inkstroke stuff, I actually like that). :lol:

I understand why SFIV gets alot of hate for the style, but its bitched about way way too much. I think people forget what "new direction" means sometimes.

Plus, most people only consider things they like good. Most things out there can/are be good but you don't have to like it for it to be good. Grow up world.

The animation of SFIV is pretty stellar, my only gripes with it are some moves that really lost their umph like ken and ryu's hurricane kick, and the floaty nature of some of the grabs. But all the other great looking movements in that game make up for it easily.

Nothing quite tops the feeling of whipping someone over your shoulder in 3rd strike though.

I'm taking an art history course this semester on Anime and Animation... It made me remember how much I dislike anime kids and a majority of anime. It's good stuff, but not my flavor unless you are throwing Pre-2000 anime at me.

Thank god they don't look like apes on steroids a la Ryu, Akuma, and (to a lesser extent) Ken. To be fair, Akuma has always looked like a gorilla on the juice, but the face models for some of the characters in SF4 is so fucking terrible I can't even put it into words. :rofl:
