Sakura Wars is weird. I'm not sure how I feel about the game yet.

I kinda of want to get an ipad but not really sure how useful it would be to me. The only thing I could see myself using it for is ebooks.
Man, can't believe Warhammer Online (charging a bunch of its players 500+ bucks)...

http://forums.warhammeronline.com/w...thread.id=15916&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

This could be the complete death of that game now. What a shitty mistake.
That's fucked up.

Did you read through the thread any? A lot of them said that wasn't even the first time that it's happened. I can't believe anyone would keep playing after it's happened more than once. They better pony up some free shit.

Holy crap about Warhammer Online...! To think I actually played that game for one month when it first came out.

Am I the only one watching the Deadly Premonition endurance run? It's actually pretty entertaining. I like how the game's music is horrible and doesn't belong in the scenes its played in.

I'm #16 in line for Deadly Premonition on goozex. Added it like 3 weeks ago, but trades for it picked up a lot recently, so hopefully I'll get it next week some time. I'm a huge David Lynch nerd, can't wait to see how many references to his stuff are in it.

How long is it?

I've been watching both of them. From the looks of things I wouldn't really enjoy playing the game myself so I'll probably stick to watching the ER. I love that Agent York is a total dick to everyone he meets.

Edit: York's smile is pretty creepy as well...

fuck, I just had this happen to me today.
2wfr4vq.jpg

It's out of warranty too (over 3 years since the last RRoD). The main reason I got Bayonetta on PS3 was because there were signs of my 360 about to die before it came out. Honestly, I'm tempted to just sell everything right now, but I'll give it a few days to think about it.

god damn, batman's combat challenges are rage inducing. between batman sometimes NOT doing what I tell him to, stupid shit like "you can't combo a counter into a ground pound", and "let's hide the dudes with the knives in a crowd of other thugs, so when you have to attack in that direction, it'll count as you attacking knife man without a stun, you'll take damage, break your combo, and lose your health bonus" i'm about to throw a six axis through my television. :bomb:

That sucks Mana. At least you've got some back-up consoles. I'd be stuck with only my Cube if my PS3 ever died on me.

I picked up GoW Collection and Sacred 2 today. Both will be added to the backlog, but I got them both super cheap and couldn't pass up the deal. I also finally found a copy of the Chuck season 2 blu-ray with the 3D glasses, so its been a great day so far.
Eh, shit happens. At least it looks like they're trying to make everything right.
Yea, but I heard this happened before on a smaller scale and they reversed MOST of the charges and didnt refund overdraft fee's. This is on the big scale and they are not going to be able to help the large amount of people affected.

"This causes serious financial hardship for some people (from what I hear, one banking institution alone is looking into 600+ incidents)"

"My bank says they wont refund any overdrafts untill they see a reversal on the amount Mythic took. BTW thanks for making me look like an a** when I went to pick up my two year olds ice cream cake for her B-day."

They are fucked.
yeah play it instead. so worth it.

Also stuck in my head forever. I even have the MP3 of it. I'm still looking for the MP3 of the moody menu theme... i love those two songs.

I'm not sure how anyone can stomach playing Deadly Premonition. It just looks terrible from what I've seen. :( Crazy lunatic story be damned, the gameplay seems like it would overshadow it, even if I was into that twin peaks kind of david lynch story they seem to be going for.

But if you run through the main bits to finish, maybe 7-8 hours the first time through I believe.

Though I'm really bad with estimates for games so...

Man, I want an official soundtrack.

And I NEVER buy game soundtracks.

TMK sell me your Wii (mine was stolen :().

Superman Returns is really bad. It might actually be worse than the Iron Man game.

I agree.

I tried for two hours the other night to pull off the freeflow perfection thing and I just ended up getting ridiculously pissed and quit before I started breaking things.

Man, this new Amazon Customer Service email form is shitty and no where near as flexible as the old one.

I picked up Sacred 2 from GS Game Days since I had credit. Been wanting to try that game for a while now.

I was bored the last few minutes so I bought I made a game with zombies in it and I played it for about 30 minutes. Man, that game is fucking fantastic. It was actually so good, I went through the rest of the games in the indie bin and downloaded the trial for Beat Hazard and that was AWESOME. I want it now.

Yeah there are some good indie games. Its like the itunes games though, just tons of absolute crap as well.
I agree.

I don't have a problem with that one -- if I'm focused on doing it, I can pull it off on Intensive Treatment Extreme (round 1) just about every time. I finally 3 medal'ed the normal version of Shock And Awe-shit last night. Ugh. And I was about 3 hits from doing the Extreme version of that as well on the first attempt, but the timer ran out. :( I just have the last 3 to do now -- the Extreme versions of Sewer Bat, Shock and Awe-shit, and Rumble in the Jungle (haven't tried that one yet, the 30/40/50k medal totals are intimidating -- i'm afraid there will be too many titans to handle a huge multiplier).

This reminds me I need to finish the Combat/Predator challenges. I really enjoyed the predator sections, the later ones are so intense.

Anyone with an iPhone 3GS needs to buy ESPGaluda 2 now!!! Especially while it's $4.99.

It's not just a novelty like most iphone games. It actually controls well, so it's a legitimate version of the game.

Best iphone game yet, easily. (GTA controls like shit.)

just got done presenting at a research conference. I hate answering questions.

mamesj, is there any reason to buy espy2 on the phone if i have the xbox version? Other than portability and 1337ness

I haven't played the 360 version, so I don't know what differences there are. If ESPGaluda 2 is like Mushihime Futari, there 6000 modes to play...this port doesn't have Black Label, 1.5, Arrange, and all that crazy shit. Other than that, it doesn't seem "budget" in any way. You get the full 6 levels (unlike, say, that "boss rush only" bullshit in Ketsui DS.) The graphics and music are amazing, there are three difficulty modes, a couple control options (though expert is the best.) The touch controls aren't too accelerated or sticky, so you always have perfect control. it might even be a bit easier, since you can see the hitbox better. Unlike most iphone games, I can say all the times I died were my fault and not the controls.

at $5 on sale, you may as well buy it just to have around in case you get stuck or bored somewhere. I guess that means, no, there's no other reason than portability and 1337tness.

what kind of conference were you presenting at?

Something for economics stuff. It was kinda lame, because economics is boring as shit, but whatever. It wasn't a professional conference or anything... just something for grad students and some undergrads.

I'll probably buy Espgaluda II and just charge it to my parents.

It's looking like I'm going to need to upgrade my gen1 touch someday soon if I want to keep up with ipod gaming.. that sucks. Maybe when my contract is up for Sprint I'll switch to AT&T and just get the newest Iphone at the end of the year.

At first I was playing it and thought it was horrible, but once you get into the meat of it the gameplay actually holds up damn well. It's like a budget RE4 gameplay system.

There's never more than 2 Titans in one group on Extreme. Although you will have to fight Titans a few times.

So it for sure doesn't work on 3G? That's lame...I don't have a 3GS and not planning to get one any time soon.

Edit: oh wait, there's supposed to be a lite version out. I will have to give that a try first.

Ah Crapple...no Lite version for Espy 2 at the moment.

fuck it, I'll just grab it now...maybe I'll end up with an iPad or some shit like that later. Might as well support Cave and get them to make another game that actually works on my shit next time.

2/3 bat medals on Sewer Bat and Rumble in the Jungle. :|
Sewer Bat seems like it's going to be the nut kicker, as my best is still about 19k short. I was only about 7 or 8k short on RitJ... if I'd had a better round 3, it might have worked.

It's not Cave's fault Apple is a bunch of douchebags.
If they port it to the android marketplace, I'd buy it once I get a new (non-iphone) phone.

I didn't say Cave was at fault for anything per se, but I've never been happy with the way Apple has positioned itself as an over-priced boutique brand. Of course, I blame Apple fans more than the company for allowing them to settle into that. :p

Man, doing laundry sucks. Also, kinda off topic, but today I won an auction on Ebay and when I tried to pay for it through Paypal after the Paypal page loaded up it said that the "seller cannot receive payment through Paypal at this time." It said on the auction page that Paypal was an accepted form of payment and the seller has tons of feedback, so I don't know what the deal is. Anyone have any experiences like that?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was just thinking that Cave did the best they could given the platform situation and that it was Apple's fault for segmenting the user base into useless (my phone), mostly useless (3g), and the rest.

Woooo. Got Sewer Bat Extreme done. I somehow had a 60x+ combo going... that started yielding 3000 point takedowns/throws. :whee: Now if I could only manage Rumble in the Jungle Extreme...

Playing Modern Warfare 2 PC free on steam. Kinda like the PC version. Might go with that if i ever re-buy.

I think i found a worse 360 game history icon than Metro 2033.

Blacksite. fuck!

I got it for $5 and it was a bad choice. When your character dies, the screen just freezes up, and dims out to a "you died" icon. No red or flashing or sound indication. Everything just STOPS. It's the same way at the end of a section or mission. fucking horrible game.

Man, Espgaluda II for the iphone is pretty slick. I'm really impressed by how well they managed to downsize the game and by how well it controls. It's obviously no replacement for the real deal, but I'm glad I have this to kill time with away from home.

Getting Splinter Cell Conviction at TRU for the "get another game for $20" deal.

I traded in my Bad Company 2 for $40 to gamestop today, and going to re-buy it on tuesday at TRU for $20. Nice deal, plus flips from BBV B1G1 made it around half price.

Very late to the party. I finally finished Half-life 2 on the GGT's recommendation. I got angry at it pretty frequently, but in the end it really is a great game. Towards the end, at least.

Splinter Cell looks good, but I'll wait for the Ubidrop™.
anyone else getting splinter cell conviction?

getting it from amazon for $32 thanks to promo code+magic eca order
I just want that game to come out so the incredibly stupid GS commercials go away.
