GGT 186 paid for GGT Gold and GGT+ to save money
I'm actually surprised the double posts here don't result in bannings. I guess mods just don't come in here anymore.
Double posts aren't against the rules to my knowledge.
The only mod who ever gave a damn about it, at all, in my experience, was Shrike... he used to come in the OTT and clean up my double+ posts into one mega post. Sometimes I care enough to go edit. Sometimes I'm just lazy. But in this case, I said fuck it and decided to double post just to make a point. :p

If I plan on getting a Vita at some point and am considering Persona 4 Golden, do I have any reason to buy P3P for the PSP since it's on sale for $10?

I personally like FES on the PS2 better, but if you really need the ability to control your whole party, then I suppose getting P3P is worth it.

I think I must have misphrased the question.

I'm sure they're like Final Fantasy games or something. But having never played a Persona game before, is there any reason I *need* to play Persona 3 if I'm looking at Persona 4? Is it a better game than 4? Are the games better if you've played both? Does 3 do things in general better than 4, etc.

The end result is: $10 for P3P to *eventually* play on my Vita; does my interest in P4G negate the fact that it's on sale for $10 and can I just skip it and save $10 getting only P4G?

No, you don't really need to play 3, although some people like it better than 4. IMO, the differences are subjective.

There's no reason you need to, but they're both good games. I see no reason why you wouldn't want to play both, unless you had some strict frostyisk time constraints.

Yeah, they are two games in the same style, but with unrelated stories. You can play them in either order, although it might be preferable to play 3 first simply because the game mechanics are a bit more restrictive in the PS2 version of 3 than in 4.

Chronologically, 4 does take place like nine months after 3. There's a slight reference to 3 in the beginning that I remember, not that any of this really matters though.

Be OCD frosty, just play both of them.
Also, you're not going to be able to understand the story to P4A if you don't know all the characters.
(1) Fighting games have a story?
(2) People play fighting games for the story?
(3) Fighting games have a story?
(4) People are going to buy P4A?

Thanks for the heads up guys, I think I'll skip P3P at the moment and wait until I have a Vita before I revisit the decision.

I always thought double posts were against the rules on most forums... I guess not.

Good thing I won't be playing the story mode then.

Depends -- some/most forums consider it a faux paux or etiquette snafu of sorts, I'd guess. But even somewhere as seemingly uptight and rule driven as GAF doesn't do jack shit to you if you; in fact, they don't even let you DELETE a post. As such you get idiots who edit their double posts together into one and then go edit the second to say "double post.".

There is nothing specifically in the rules HERE at least to prohibit double posts. Go look at the FAQ if you don't believe me. ;)
And with Shrike relaxing a bit, the double post correction committee is pretty much on hiatus. Want to pad your post count? Go nuts. :p

With the way the game looks (super dated) it is best to pick up P3P at that price. I would get sick of the game a lot faster if I were to be playing it on a tv.
I don't know how anyone could hate on Bulletstorm's writing? Game is hilarious.
We've been telling you that for months.

Pffftttt duh! Mortal Kombat is so bodacious! I think Soul Caliber made an attempt...maybe...:whistle2:k

New Childish Gambino is an awesome start to 4th of July.

Be safe with them crazy ass fireworks everybody, don't be like my stupid ass friend who blew off two of his fingers.
I don't know how anyone could hate on Bulletstorm's writing? Game is hilarious.
Ill hate on it; I think it's writing a vulgar pile of trash. The script for the clap traps in borderlands was much more funny.

I take it back...the writing went along well the action.

I thought Bulletstorm was trying way too goddamn hard and after a couple levels the trickshots got old quick.

What's the deal with the Ouya? Is it trying to be a Roku box with just as crappy specs as it wants to be a gaming console? And is the price really $99 or $99.99 = $100.
Is Ico worth playing through? the Ico/SotC collection is $20 on Amazon but SotC on PSN is like $10.
I liked ICO enough to say it's worth $10. It's only like about 6 hours long and it feels like it's in a similar setting as SotC (
obviously, it is
). Gameplay is much different though. More climbing/puzzle solving than anything else... I suppose you could say SotC was sorta puzzle solving, but to me SotC was 16 boss fights.

I'd still say yes, even if uraizen would tell you otherwise.

Couldn't tell you if I enjoyed Ico or SotC more, they're both two of my favorite games. And I was only introduced to Ico last year with the HD collection, so I have very clear goggles on

At $20 I say it's worth the risk of finding it boring, or finding it as something very historic. Combat sucks, some camera angles are hard to line up, otherwise it's one of the coolest things I've experienced. Very pretty, great sound, fun level design, awesome premise. Worst that happens is you get to have an opinion on a very renowned game.

I have a hipster version of this recommendation in my sig.

Yeah I don't think a home console with crappy free mobile games will fly, that's not what they were designed for.
