I can't wait for Dark Souls to crash because of GFWL.

EDIT: And the Batman AC DLC download just failed because of the GFWL marketplace. =(

The Batman AC DLC is just keys you put in the GFWL marketplace. AE's DLC didn't require any of that and it uses GFWL, too.

Yes.
GoldenEye 64 was ass, come on. Have you tried going back to that shit?
LIES.

It was fun when it came out, and I'm sure if you got a bunch of people together who remember the game to screw around in multiplayer it would still be a good time, the single player hasn't aged well at all though. I mean I think the game does get a lot of love due to nostalgia and because it was the first well respected FPS game on a console, so if you weren't playing it when it came out and played a later FPS console game first the moment was kind of lost (and you were what, in kindergarten or 1st grade when it came out? haha).

It was my favorite game as a kid, too. Not saying it wasn't a good time when I was easily amused by stacking sticky explosives and making up rules with multiplayer.

But Rare's later Bond attempts were just the same. They were still awful, but simply because of nostalgia we pretend they used to know what they were doing on 64. They've never made a great FPS, people just started playing better ones.

The problem is I can't name a better FPS game on consoles until Halo came out, were there better FPS games out there, sure but they were on PC. I mean Half-Life 1 came out only a year after Goldeneye and was WAY beyond it. But when compared to what any other company was doing with FPS games on consoles at the time Rare was breaking new ground especially with controls that will never be as accurate as a mouse and did a fairly good job with it.
True but then yeah, it really was the only thing to play of that genre.
The only other FPS console game from that era that I remember people talking about and which got fairly stellar reviews was Medal of Honor, but I don't think it ever generated the following that Goldeneye has.
MoH on PSX sucked, I think I knew that even as a kid.

And I liked Turok more than GoldenEye =]
Turok: Rage Wars was fairly fun, although playing through the main mission mode with multiple people I think actually broke it since there were missions (just the one where you have to kill the person who turned into a monkey) where it wouldn't register a player as winning to advance you on to the next one (in all the other missions as long as one actual player wins everyone advances). It was still fun though.

I've been playing two things:

#1 - Dark Souls
I'm a little under/over 30 hours into it right now, just at
Sen's Fortress
I need to know where I can run into
Laurtec since he killed the Firelink Shrine Maiden and I want her soul back.
So far, the game has been MOSTLY kind to me, with a few bullshit instances. But I did manage to
kill Queelag on my first try with no help.
So that was something.

#2 - Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
After a somewhat shaky start making me wonder why I got this, I have to say I'm enjoying it, particularly Heroes vs. Heralds, even though I have no idea what I'm doing in it. I tried Spectator Mode, but beyond that, just some Offline play.

I've never had a MS product break on me.

Sony on the other hand. I can't play my PS1 unless I turn it upside down. What kind of shit is that?

Dear god I'm out of control, haha. Good thing I'm not planning on getting many games this holiday season (although the Vita and P4 is going to cut into my funds if I get them). Not many games I'm dying to have at the end of this year though.

To answer your question:
Laurtec is found in the area directly after your finish Sen's fortress -- though not immediately; If I remember correctly (and my Dark Souls playthroughs for platinum were a blur to me at this point), but the game will force you to invade him at some point during the next area; if you successfully invade and kill him as a black phantom, you get fire maiden's soul back and can restore her at the firelink shrine.
Thanks GFWL, you make signing up annoying and I can't play Batman AC without an account.
Sorry. I didn't realize it was that restrictive or that you didn't have a XBL account... :(
I remember the BS I had to go through when I tried to play Bulletstorm via Steam and I already *had* a XBL account I could use for GFWL.

Yeah that is pretty annoying. I always had issues where gwfl wouldn't want me to sign in so I couldn't get past the title screen.
