I'm beginning to get annoyed by the PS3 needing to update as soon as I feel like playing a game on it.
You talking game or system?

Cause the FW updates ARE getting annoying. They're adding nothing and even removing features and releasing them every other week.

System. And you're completely right! Why the fuck do they need to release that many updates? Could they not just put these two updates into one?

That video makes me happy I already have Deathsmiles pre-ordered =)

I JUST beat God of War for the very first time, and I'm only three trophies away from getting the platinum. Honestly, I guess I just jumped on the GoW bandwagon too late, but I'm really not into the game. I basically had to force myself to play it all the way through, and even though I beat it in less than 10 hours, it felt like fucking forever. My co-worker said the second installment is really good though, so we'll see.

I just played GoW I and II on collection about 2 months ago before I sold my PS3 and I have to agree with you, though, I did enjoy playing it and want to play 3 sometime soon. I spoiled myself by watching boss battles on IGN though. >_>

I think the thing about the first 2 God of War games is that they aren't as amazing by today's standards as they were a few years ago. That genre seems dependent on using current technology to do new and exciting things, so anything from a previous gen console is going to be slightly outdated. I still think the first two games are pretty great though, just not quite as great as they used to be.

very good point. Honestly, since I've been playing God of War III this week I've been realizing its a series that really needs to be in HD and nothing else.

I can easily say thats true for the Ico games as well... maybe.

I need to get rid of my Capcom Classics Collection Remixed and Phantom Dust... was going to do it on Gazelle.com but I only get $2 for it
Is Phantom Dust complete and clean?
I have disc only, how much if so?
Yep it's complete and clean. just shoot me an offer. I'm about to send off to gazelle also:

Street FIghter IV ps3
Capcom Classics Remixed PSP
Drawn to Life DS
Mortal Kombat Unchained PSP
The Warriors PSP

so get me before the end of tonight if you want anything else I have.

I'm just doing my inventory cleanup that I always do every 4-6 months.

Looks like you can check how many PS3s/PSPs you have registered at this new Sony site.

www.qriocity.com

There's a "Deactivate" button underneath each one which got me excited until I actually tried it.
But it's good to know where you stand.

Crap, stupid dead PS3, I'm gonna try to get Sony to deactivate them all.

Played Tat vs Cap late last night, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Hadn't had that much since MvC2. Looks amazing and it's very balanced. I like some of the Tat characters too. Definitely no Marvel, but it works. Glad it came out in the US after-all.
There's been 2 updates after 4 months of nothing.
2 updates in about 2 weeks or so is fucking annoying. Especially since the first one was really a downgrade.
System. And you're completely right! Why the fuck do they need to release that many updates? Could they not just put these two updates into one?
I've heard that 3.30 was in development for awhile (seriously? fuck you, sony. if you're going to "fix" trophies... make them auto update and whatnot... i don't care about sorting.)... probably because of the 3D shit. And that 3.21 was a quick patch for disabling Other OS... so that's probably why they were different and so close together.
My pet peeve is the game patches or whatever it was that took me 15 minutes each game I put in to play. :p
The worst is PSN games, since you have to redownload the whole fucking thing. Especially when you buy a game that's been out for awhile, like MvC -- you get to do a few patches, and it's redownloading the game again, since PSN doesn't do delta patching.
My co-worker said the second installment is really good though, so we'll see.
Second is better than the first. Just about anyone will tell you that... the story is a little less interesting, but the locations and the gameplay make up for it. Absolutely fucking awesome.
I think the thing about the first 2 God of War games is that they aren't as amazing by today's standards as they were a few years ago.
WRONG. :p
The core gameplay is so solid and the general story is decent enough that I loved every second of plaything through them with updated graphics on the GoW collection and platinum'ed both. The games are easily better than 98% of the shit that is released these days. [/DMK]

I can't get excited, since I'd have to play with wagglemote and nunchuck. :( If there was a PS3/360 port and I could use my fightstick? Maybe... I just have no real interest in the non-capcom characters, since I don't really know who they are.

PS3 does have minor patches for PSN games.
Just certain games(cough capcom cough) go the whole "download the whole thing again' route.

You can use the classic controller (Classic Pro just came out, and it's one of the best controllers in my opnion), and the wavebird. I never use the waggle when I can use the other two. And yeah, I was turned off with the weird Tat people, but after using some, they are pretty interesting and whatnot. I didn't know some of the people in MvC2 (Capcom side), but I ended up loving some of them, if not all. Kind of the same thing here for me, will need more playtime.

The WipEout HD patches were quicker than I expected, this is true. Most games I own are probably Capcom though, so it makes sense that I see "download the whole game again" a lot:

MvC2, SSF2THDR, 1942 Joint Strike, Super Puzzle Fighter HDR, etc.

Yeah, Capcom sucks at PSN and locking saves for no reason.
I don't know of any other 'whole game' updates other than my Capcom ones to be honest.

Only thing I have that's not a waggle mote is an old Mad Catz GCN controller.

Well, all my games are downlevel now, so as I fire them up, I'll be sure to note which don't have full download of the game again. So far I played WipEout HD -- and that was quicker than downloading from PSN, I think...

Was thinking of PS3 or 360 again, but I will probably get a 360 and maybe a ps3 this winter. I've played pretty much all PS3 has to offer as of now, aside from GoWIII and Heavy Rain, but would love to jump into 3D Heroes next month too, but not a huge want, I'd rather play Alan Wake, because I love Remedy. :p
Also, Reach Beta starts in a few weeks, and it's looking good.

Wipeout is pretty big right?
I changed my mind and didn't get it last night.

I like to think that I'll finally love Wipeout, but I never do.
Ever since PSX...

It's like 1gb I think
I'm surprised, it seemed slower when I played a quick 3 lap time trial on one of the opening tracks...

I'd probably go PS3 again, especially since most of the games I'm interested in are MP and I'd rather not have to pay MS for Live when I don't play online all that often. GoW3 would sway me to that side anyway... Alan Wake looks interesting, but not good enough to put in my list of "games worth owning a 360 for"... I could change my mind after I eventually play it, but at this point I don't anticipate it. Crackdown 2 might be the only 360 exclusive worth a damn for me this year, but buzz there has been quiet.

I hear you. Personally, I am enjoying these Wii exclusives more than I did with PS3 and 360 ones. Not biased and not a fanboy.
I just like the Zelda and Mario games, etc, they are a lot of fun. I'm getting sick of all these FPS and what not, so going back to these games is a breath of fresh air. I did watch the GoW III boss battles (spoiled myself) on IGN, and they were fucking incredible. I use my 360 for the multi more than anything else. I have RL friends and family on live, so it helps, but yeah, paying for live is never fun. It's hard for me to enjoy games like Bayonetta and stuff anymore, and after hearing the praises and not feeling it, I'm either jaded or just picky.

NSMB is pretty good so far. I just started playing that with chika. We're almost at the end of world 3. Who knows, maybe we'll actually finish it... though the forced coop gets fucking annoying on some of the more difficult levels. Otherwise the wii doesn't get much love -- maybe it will get some more when the next zelda game drops.

My ps3 gets the most attention... and will continue to do so with SSFIV coming tuesday. I actually just fired up GTAIV for the PS3 last week and started to do a second playthrough on that (first was 360).

My 360(s) these days is(are) relegated to "rockband" duty. If chika decides she wants to ever finish our gears 2 playthrough, that'd be another story... but that's about it.

My woman likes to play the wii more than 360 (controls are easier), so that also helps. She doesn't really get into the shooting, but she has shown interest, just never got around to trying to teach her. I don't have as much time and money as I think I do sometimes and end up with a modest backlog. :p
I wish they would have made NSMB online. Online that doesn't suck, like Kart or MH3. They really screwed up with their online, but that topic's been beaten to death so no point going into it. It just would have been an overall better system, had they had better features. (Obviously). But still enjoying it for what it is. Can't wait to play Reach beta though.
