Anyway, played more GoWIII. I'd roughly say I'm halfway through, collected 14% of its trophies. While I like GoWIII and other action games, I tend to only play them in 1 hour sessions, unlike JRPGs that keep me sucked in for hours.

Forced installs are stupid. It's a hardware limitation of the PS3. Every 360 game can be played from the disc just fine. (aside from obvious examples like FFXI where it's dependent on online updates and Shivering Isles which requires content from a 2nd disc)

If it's a problem of the engineers behind that title or not, there's a reason that they couldn't get the game working without installing data to the hard drive. It was a limitation. Just like the 360 is limited in withstanding heat. And the Wii is limited in display resolutions.
