360 for me. My co-workers want to play co-op multiplayer over Live is mainly why. I feel the same way about Rage engine seeming to "fit" better on 360, though.

360 para mi for a controller more suited to 3rd person shooters although I don't know when I'll get it. Release day is super tempting but I don't know what the money situation will be like then.
Yea I'd recommend people get it on 360, the PS3 version does not have any sky box texture (the entire sky is gray all the time). True story.
weird...

well ordered off amazon now. $20 too good to pass up.

I also put in an order for Skate 3. I gotta wait till i get my credit from Gazelle.com before I order 3D dot game hereos.

All my left over credit will go towards Metal Gear Solid PW

also very tempted to order demon souls even though I have it from gamefly right now and am enjoying it... even thoguh I've only killed the first boss.

word on GAF and some other sites says that Gamecrazy is closing down. Cancel your preorders? (obviously don't rely on my word for it, but just a heads up)

not surprised, bound to happen sooner or later

so, it's official. My work is closing business as early as May 31st.

fortunately, I've been scouted by another place, and met with them today. Promising. Not guaranteed though.

I dunno, should i go unemployed for a little while? I wouldn't' turn down any offers, but it could be kinda nice to get unemployment and focus on some writing and web design for a bit..

Played through the Battle of Forli and Bonfire of thd Vanities DLC in AC2. Both were pretty good--the assassination on the ship in the latter was a bitch.

Going to grab something to eat and play some more--need to do the secret locations, and I'll probably go find the rest of the glyphs since I only have 7 more to find.

Damn that sucks, sorry to hear that. Good luck with that, whichever way you go.

I'm leaving too soon probably. I don't think I could survive on unemployment though, just isn't enough to cover the basics.
That's what I get for not saving enough.

Well this depends largely on what your finances are looking like, but being unemployed is an opportunity. If you're not doing what you want to be doing right now, this is your chance to change that.

I'm hoping for more puzzle-y assassinations like that in future games, kinda gave off a Hitman feel with how you had to navigate it.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your perspective), though... the economy has ensured that he's probably not going to be the only person out there who's spent a sizable amount of time outside of employment.

But who knows... I'm always overly optimistic.

The only good thing about the place I was working was the people there. So i won't really miss it. I could get by with unemployment, i'm single and don't have any major debts, car paid off, etc. No kids, my rent is less than $400 a month..

I've got leads on a few things.. i should probably just jump right out there. Recruiters have been coming after us pretty good because word got around that we're closing. Also, there's stay bonuses if you stay on till the end, not everybody is, but I think I'm in good enough with the supervisor to stay.

Anyway, I got a reach code on GAF! yay!

I hated those type of missions personally as I hate stealth gamplay. Thankfully there weren't too many of those.

In any case, finished the 3 templar lairs--those were ok, not sure they were worth the extra 240 points or whatever though.

Also found all the glyphs and cleaned up a few easy achievements--got all but 6 or so. Didn't do the feathers and the others were combat related things I didn't feel like bother with since I don't care much about achievements in general.

Damn good game, probably give it a 9/10.

Fallout 3 up next!
You know what I hate? video games
I do hate when people say, "videogames". It really irks me. They are called games dammit or if you have to; console or computer games. When you add the video at the beginning it makes it seem so childish like something your mom would yell at you to stop playing. Like, lets go see some "Moving pictures", just movies for fuck sakes.

The problem is, games could refer to anything from board games to what you play with my heart.

good point Dbear... I forget i just call my games "games" now. I had to write a research paper on video game artists a few weeks ago and just typing the word down made me feel weird... >_

I don't think vidoegames sounds childish at all. Just more descriptive just like saying board games as Chacrana points out.

Yea but I feel like games have reached a point where they have surpassed Board games and earn the right to be called "games". Board games are now referred to as board games. And if you have to be specific, PS3/360/Wii(lol)/PC/Console games would do just fine.

Whatever though it's just a pet peeve of mine.

If "videogames" bothers you, then what about when people call everything a "tape"?

For me, "games" is too general of a term to try to take for ourselves. I don't have a problem with "videogames."

If there's any part of the word "videogame" that I could take issue with, it's the "game" part and not the "video" part, because the medium is moving beyond just games.

Hey, ReRo, did you get rid of your copy of SF4?
How much were you looking to get for it... I can give it a (temporary?) home for real cheap, if you weren't going to get much better elsewhere...

I really mostly just want it for the unlock of the shading filters. :|

Yup roommates. It's an overpriced townhouse, $1100.00 when there are nice ass 3 bedrooms a mile away with a pool and workout facility for $1000.00.

My 360 is dying. It's not the 3 red rings, it's the 2 red. It keeps overheating when playing Halo Reach or anything for longer than like 15 minutes. It is warmer this weekend, but I have a fan running on it and it standing vertical, and nothing. It just randomly shuts off.

Bullshit, cause I was hoping it would last until the slim 360 announcement. What do I do? Try to fix it myself and hope it lasts long enough to get to july/august ish when they probably will do the new system? Trade it to gamestop (it works long enough to get by their inspection) and buy a 360 arcade?

If you feel confident busting it open and doing some ghetto ass "reflow" work, you can fix it pretty much permanently for $30 bucks or so. Only problem is the replacement fan should always be on "high" voltage, meaning the fan is hella louder than the stock fan.

http://www.talismoon.com/cgi-bin/mu...ction=viewid&id=RKS000224&cat=XBOX360-MODDING

I have the older model in one of my 360s that was dying of overheating with e74 errors and it hasn't died since I did the "home" version of reflowing and installed the new fan (leaving it on high).

From what I've read the problem is caused by one of two things - The heatsink placed above the GPU being clogged with dust (I've blown the shit out of this thing with compressed air - or a motherboard problem. It sounds like the latter since it continues to happen despite being placed in front of a fan and cleaned.

I think i should just take my lumps and get the $90 for it at gamestop and buy an arcade. The newer units are suppossed to be more stable anyway, right? They've got a $25 bonus towards new hardware now too.. it's still a lot to pay. Cheaper than MS repair - $100.

Damn... now a feel like an ass. It seems that my copy of of SSF4 came the other day and someone forgot all about it. So now I have 2 copies of the game...

It actually looks better then I thought it would. I ordered it only because I had $30 worth of game credit at amazon.

Just watched the new trailer for Alan Wake--really know nothing about it beyond that it's been in development for a long time.

Couldn't get a sense for what type of game it is. Is it a 3rd person action game with controls in the line of RE 4 and 5? Kind of looked that way from the video, but there wasn't enough combat/gameplay shown for me to get a good feel for it.

Well, if you're starting to see artifacts in the graphics, what's most likely happening is the board is warping because of the high heat. This stresses the solder joints around the GPU and leads to an E74, eventually. You can basically overheat the area and get the solder to melt and rejoin the broken joints -- but the issue then becomes keeping the unit cool enough so that it won't warp the board and stress the joints again.

I can't even tell you the hours I've logged on the fixed box I created, it's well over 60 hours without a repeat RROD. It just sounds like a hoverjet about to take off. But I'm okay with that for the 30 bucks and hours worth of work I had to put in.

1100-1300 was the total on the townhouse I rented with a buddy a few years back. 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath.

My apartment soon after was 960 or so for 1 br/1 bath.

meh, I'm gonna go buy a new arcade. I've had this box since 2007, ad it's served me well. Getting $100 out of it is alright.v

Where the hell do you guys live? $1000 for a 3 bedroom? In CA if I paid $1000 for a 3 bedroom apartment it would be on fire. A good 1 bedroom apartment here is around $1500 and that was the size of a public restroom..

That's Cali. I looked at the housing guide last time I was there, they had some shitty ass bungalow for $300,000. @_@

Midwest = Cheap living. Friend rents a 2 story duplex, two bedrooms with a basement for $650 a month.

Yeah, CA and the north east cities are very expensive relative to most of the rest of the country.

I pay $950 for a 1 br/1 bath apartment (well condo I rent from the owner) in Atlanta. But that's in the city, if I wanted to live 20-30 minutes (sans traffic) away I could pay half that. But I love being in the city, not having a commute (work is downtown about 3.5 miles away from my place).

Will probably move into a bigger place (1 br with a den) a in a more central location for $1,050 in a couple months. Current location is on the edge of midtown so there's not much walking distance (under a mile) from my place, new place would be in the heart of Midtown which is the best part of Atlanta in terms of dining etc.
