[quote name='The Crotch']So apparently you can make a city in the new Sim City with zero commercial or industrial sectors, because the happiness bonuses from things like parks are so great that people will flock to your worthless city and stay there, doing nothing, forever.
Pathfinding is also a slight probblem:

The game is getting messier and messier. It's making for really good reading as simcity fans uncover more issues. What's interesting is that because of server issues, people are still playing a gimped game. There's no telling what will go down to resolve the "under the hood" sim issues. More gimping, I guess?
So I got home early for lunch and had part of the afternoon to run through a game of civ. I decided to try out Ethopia -- I don't run into them in a lot of games and I've never played them. Thought I'd go for a tall culture win. Got absolutely destroyed. This was on deity. I knew from the start I was

ed, but I thought I'd roll with it and see how far I could get.
Culture is tough for me, because I'm tied up in beakers and gold. That's all I see. Even hammers come down to beakers and gold for me. That's the tough part of deity, you're starting so far down. It creates a mental block for me, because I absolutely have to rush science to catch up, and if I'm not playing UN/military/science, that game of catch-up can get in the way of major cultural objectives. It's a bitch, man.
Anyhow, it was another game with goddamn King Hawaii. Patchouli was in there, too, they were the big dogs this game. I played nice with them all along, but it was lil' Gandhi who DOW'd me in the end. Around T220. I had no chance anyhow, Hawaii had completed Apollo earlier and would've won with science by T260 or so.
I want to beat the

in game with culture. On deity. Without warmongering. And I'm not doing the one-city challenge bullshit, that's lame. I want a genuine civilization win on this.
