Love this still. They really need to start rendering the insides of mouths.

I like bayonetta's short hair

To the 3000 people who own a wii u you're lucky you're getting bayonetta 2
I don't. I think it looks atrocious.

And don't worry, I swear they'll port it to PS4/Xbone eventually. Everyone thought Mass Effect would never be anywhere but on PC/360, but several years later, it makes it to PS3 in the Trilogy collection.

I want to name my firstborn "Batman".
My buddy named one of his twins Grayson Richard. Think about that one for a second. ;)

Oh yeah fuckING LOVE SUPER MARIO WORLD also.

And Yoshi's Island.

SMB3, SMW, YI are my top 3.
YI isn't technically a SMB game though -- it's still solid. I think the sequel was pretty okay too. I appreciate YI much more now than I ever did when I played it at release though.

Love how the game uses negative feedback too. "Get better at this quickly... because we've used the most annoying fucking sound you never want to hear ever when you lose baby Mario."

I think Nintendo paid for Bayonetta 2, and I know they are publishing it, so I seriously doubt it will go anywhere anytime soon.

Mass Effect wasn't published by Microsoft. Bayonetta 2 is published by Nintendo.

I'm listening to the Joystiq guys talk about Bayonetta 2 right now, they got to play it for about 20 minutes and it sounds awesome.

Mass Effect was published by Microsoft.

Either it was some sort of timed deal or it didn't cover the game being in a collection. Or EA paid off Microsoft for the first game.

I honestly don't know how any of this works.

Didn't like NSMB at all, felt off.

SMB3 = Best SMB there ever will be.
Both handheld NSMB games felt off to me, especially the one on the DS. That one felt especially floaty, and the design of those games just seems lacking. The Wii and WiiU entries do a much better job of recapturing the feeling of a classic 2D Mario along with adding some new creative powerups and levels.

And I absolutely love SMB3. Probably the first game I ever really got into. It's easily my favorite outside of the Galaxy games.
I felt the DS and 3DS versions were not as good either. I was not too crazy about NSMB on DS. I liked the 3DS one better, but the Wii/WiiU ones are superior IMO.

I need to play more Torchlight 2. Seemed like a lot of fun.
I thought it was good too, need to play it more but I've been busy.,

Yep. MS published the original ME. It was a timed deal.

Haha, that's one of the greatest things ever!

Also, sorry I missed your message, Frosty. I was cooking dinner.

I kinda like how Bayonetta looks now myself, and as others said I don't see this one going to the other systems since Nintendo is basically the only reason it's even coming out.

Yoshi's Island is actually Super Mario World 2 though, so I'd think it deserves to be called a SMB game. I played the first one sooo many times back in the day, was definitely one of my favorite games. I also like Tetris Attack which used a bunch of stuff from that game.

Dat texture...

I like how the VA in Transistor is sync'd to the light up feature on the PS4 controller.  More games will likely do it, where it fits the context...

Sorry I'm listening to the sony E3 live stream and it's random blogger thoughts time...

See below in terms of Bayonetta.

I hate boy/pixie cuts. And it looks like shit on Betrayonetta, IMO. :p

Gameplay Krymner posted actually looks pretty solid, especially without the TOUCH prompts... I think I have a problem with the whip or whatever attack was being spammed that was a full screen pink slash though -- that shit makes it look like you could probably spam that most of the time to win.

Yes, Yoshi's Island is technically SMW2. However, you don't actually play as Mario at any point in it and other than being set in the same world, there's little in common in the gameplay mechanics from what I remember. To me, Yoshi's Island isn't a Mario game in the same sense as SMW/SMB3/SM64/etc. But it's still a fantastic game.

As other's have pointed out, yes it was. And it doesn't matter who publishes it so much as it matters what's specified in the publisher's agreement. Platinum owns the IP and created the game. Once the terms of their publishing agreement with Nintendo for the game are satisfied, you can bet your ass someone in the company is going to say "what's the cost of porting this to the other platforms and how much do we think it will sell?" If the answer is "holy fuck, we'd be rolling in money", you can bet your sweet ass they'll do it. Again, I hope it eventually comes to PC.

I think Nintendo paid for Bayonetta 2, and I know they are publishing it, so I seriously doubt it will go anywhere anytime soon.
I don't think it's likely, mind you. But I think, down the road, it's possible. Depends on whatever language is in the contract that Platinum and Nintendo came up with. I'm sure that Platinum didn't enter into the contract one sidedly either. Maybe there's language that says if it sells x amount of units that Nintendo's interests are satisfied. Maybe there's language that covers buy-out clauses. Who knows? Not us!

In the end, time will tell. People never thought the Mass Effect games, especially the original would hit PS3. And yet, here we are. Ideally, they'll port it to PC someday. :p
Hank is just doing work in XCOM right now.

Best unit next to the black guy that I named Black Guy.
Any of the rest of us helping you out? :D

I like Bayonetta's look either way. I like her with the short haircut a bit more, though. Mainly because of hot factor when associating her with chicks I know. :p

I just got dmc from Gamefly. Gonna play it and maybe some X-Com this weekend.

I took Josh out on a mission. He responded to my orders with phrases like "Roger Dodger," and ultimately ending up not doing a damn thing.

So that's about right.

The rest of you will probably show up soon.

Seriously doe.

Hank makes shots a mile away with a fucking LMG.

So boss.
did you lose any1 yet in xcom?
Besides the people you're supposed to lose in the tutorial, No.

I used LMGs like sniper rifles in Ghost Recon.  Funny.

Bayonetta looks sluttily hot as ever.  Tsukebe crotch shots ftw!

Fair enough, not everybody is going to like the new look. The thing I like about those kind of games is even if you have an attack that's spammable, you can play through it however you want, so you don't have to abuse that attack yourself, but I do agree that the attack looks like it could easily be spammable.

As for Yoshis Island, yeah it's true that you don't play as Mario and the gameplay is very different, so I understand what you mean how it's not really a main style Mario game, either way though it really is just a great game :p

Cheapy says that PS4 is selling 69% more than Xbox via his Amazon/CAG link shit.

That's a dirty number.

I always find it weird how easy it is to use guns like that and be able to get head shots from miles away.

Uncharted always felt like a big culprit of that.

Not so much. I was a huge fan of the Sarah Palin resemblance, so the lack of that kind of kills it. The fact that I do not like girls with short hair finished killing it.

Agreed.

My problem with spammable attacks is that it doesn't encourage the player to learn or experiment. There's no reward for learning combos. At all (in those cases). Playing MGR:R? I played it all and did not find a singularly abuseable combo in the sense that you could mash your way through Hard.

Now Bayonetta on the other hand... X>X>X>X>X>X>X>X>LT>X>X>X>X>X>X>X>X>TA>LT>X>X>X>X>X>X>X I tried it for the hell of it... there was no reason for me to learn dodge offset or anything else unless I for some reason wanted to. I beat the majority of Hard using that one combo for 90% of the time.

dar-for-you-441.jpg

Isn't that virtually all over the top action games though(GOW, DMC, NMH even Batman to some extent)? I don't remember many if any of them being incredibly deep on combat-you could mix it up if you wanted to, but you could also stick to one or two safe combos and get through the whole game.

According to the Bayonetta 2 wiki page, Sega actually owns Bayonetta.

Bayonetta 2 (ベヨネッタ 2 Beyonetta Tsū ? ) is an upcoming action hack and slash video game developed by Platinum Games and published by Nintendo exclusively for the Wii U, with Sega as the franchise owners serving as its advisor.

Ah well that does change things a bit, but Sega has a wonderful relationship with Nintendo (Sonic games sell like gangbusters on Nintendo systems), I doubt they would decide on a port anytime soon and damage that relationship.

I gave up on Xcom, I'm just terrible at it. I love me some turn-based strategy though, so I may get into it again at a later date.

No one doubts they own bayonetta but I'm sure they had to sign some shit prohibiting them from selling this game outside of wii u. Who thinks its a good idea to sell exclusive games to the wii u? Besides miyamoto.
quote boxes how do they work?!

Choose the biggest guns and always hide in full armor. Easy game.

I think I also liked the Sarah Palin Bayonetta over the short haired version. I hope her hair grows longer as you progress.

I like mashin' dat X.

In a top of the line action game? fuck no. To my knowledge, there was no way to use a single combo to get through harder difficulties in DMC3 or DMC4. I had to vary my combos when I played through DMC 3 HD. I know for certain that shit doesn't fly in MGR:R on harder difficulties unless you're using one of the wigs or a fully leveled up sword like armor breaker and even then, the AI will fuck you up.

The God of War games are big offenders on the "one combo to rule them all" list, though it doesn't *always* work in later games (on harder difficulties).

Ninja Gaiden, at least to some extent, also limits combo repetition on harder difficulties by doing things like locking Guillotine Flip and Izuna Drop away.

I don't know where NMH fits in this discussion, but I don't normally see it referred to as an action game in the same vein as NG, DMC, Bayonetta, MGR, etc.

Batman isn't really an action game either, not in the same sense. Hell, there's not even a "combo" list... but at least they reward you for combo variation or encourage it with particular enemy types (good practices).

Hmmm, I thought that might be the case, since Sega published (and did the PS3 port of) Bayonetta in the first place... but the fact that the franchise was working between Nintendo and Platinum with no real mention of Sega's stake made me think I was incorrect. Hell, this might make it little more likely that it could happen.

Ah well that does change things a bit, but Sega has a wonderful relationship with Nintendo (Sonic games sell like gangbusters on Nintendo systems), I doubt they would decide on a port anytime soon and damage that relationship.
Depends on what will get Sega the most profit. Sega is going to do what's it it's best interest. If Nintendo is paying them well enough and they don't think they're missing out, they'll let it stand. However, if Sega thinks enough money is to be made, they'll change their tune as soon as they can. Hell, why do you think they took the time and effort to port the original Bayonetta to PS3 sloppily? The answer is: profit. Whether or not that worked out for them, I don't know, as I don't know the cost of doing the in house port vs how much it sold on PS3.

I really wish we knew the terms of the agreement, as that would settle this. :p

But with Konami porting MGR:R, Lords of Shadow, and maybe even putting MGSV on PC (with LoS being almost 3 years old by the time it releases), I think there's a relatively decent chance it could happen. Sooner or later, all companies seem to change their tune. Tecmo said Razor's Edge was NOT coming to PS3/360. Now we have it. Eidos said Deus Ex HR Director's Cut was WiiU only, no plans to come to any other platform and now we see it coming to PC/PS3/360.

It might not be likely and it might not serve to bet on it. But unless you need to play Bayonetta 2 the day it comes out and it's worth buying a WiiU for it, I think there's some chance for the rest of us who are interested in the game to get it on another platform before we have to buy a WiiU for it.

Guys.

Mikey died on his first turn out.

It's like XCOM knows real life, you know?

I wonder if jeanne d arc is in the new bayonetta game? She's like vergil but more fun to use
She is, but now she has super long hair (I don't think it looks good on her either.)

I don't understand the Jeanne love. I never liked her, though the last fight against her was really good.

I never actually used her in all my time with Bayonetta.

She took a little more skill to use (not saying you're a noob if you don't use her) but she was fun to use her attacks were a little different and she cussed a lot. I haven't seen her new look doe.

Hank's nickname is Collateral. I agree.

Corrosive Frost and GUNMM Dawg are the two new reckless recruits that should make big waves in the XCOM scene.

I hired a bunch of new recruits just to see if I'd get a female, but so far it's a sausage fest.

Leda's debut is going to have to wait.

Hopefully I can offer up something good instead of being a bullet sponge like Mikey. ;)

I forgot I have a bunch of shmups on 360, so I can't really sell it off completely.  I guess GS is telling everyone to buy PS4 instead of XBone?  Or at least throwing up barriers based on disclosure of the DRM and other consumer unfriendly policies?

I'm actually relieved MS decided to flub up XBone so thoroughly as it's much easier to concentrate the entertainment budget with fewer platforms to worry about.

I hate my xbox, but I'm thinking of keeping it just for the RB content and the XBL games I can't get on PS3 or PC (Ikaruga, Radiant Silver gun, etc.) But I'm still torn on whether or not to keep my current system or to trade it now and buy a 360 super slim down the road when it's cheaper.

$99 super slim sounds worth it.

Especially if you don't have an Internet connection. bwahahaha....

There is no "nonsucky" version. Only a "lesssucky" version. 360 version is still fucking atrocious in spots. Tons of tearing and slowdown.

Of course. Figured you'd take a stab at 576p, jaggy ass, slowdown, and tearing filled NG2 also, but I digress.

I've never even finished Bayonetta, so it's really a moot point. Probably never will at this rate.
